Hello xda
So recently i purchased a Note 8 N950F/D DUAL SIM on a good deal and i am kind of confused which rom is the best for day to day use with good battery life.
Currently i am on dr keten p10 new rom july security update and its very good so far.
Reason i am using drketan's rom p10 specifically because of working secure folder+video recording 4k UHD 60fps+latest july security patch.
Also i tried hadesrom v8 and deluxe rom v 15.1 and TeamExyKings lite rom i love them all and they are above excellent too .
so here i am confused which 1 is best i wanna hear from you guys which rom you are using and why
because i am keeping switching beetween roms
Thanks and Huge shout out to all rom devs for all their effort:good:

I use Freeza's BeastMode kernel for root; no Gear VR issues here.
With that said, I'm reasonably sure you have to run a TouchWiz-based custom ROM for it to work, since I doubt the AOSP ROMs floating about have the needed kernel and other tweaks required for Gear VR to work. If by some chance they DID find a way to make 'em work, though, I'd certainly like to know!

N910C - I confirm that GearVR works well with not-i custom (with suemax 1.1 lite kernel):
[ROM][N910C/H]Sweet ROM V17.1 COJ5 5.1.1[12th November][NEW]
and several other users confirmed also that it work on
[ROM][N910C][5.1.1] Ditto Note 5 ROM v0.5 from Electron Team - 19/11/2015
it also works on the stock N910F 5.1.1 rom

This depends which ROM you plan to flash...
I use not-i V17.1 and this rom does not need any special modifications towards GearVR - the only problem I had was with the rom itselves - I got in the bootloop after initial configuration reboot , and the remedy for that was to flash different kernel - I flashed N910C_N910H_Suemax-kernel-Lite-v1.1_Stable.zip in TWRP and phone booted well, I have also flashed xposed, restored all my data using Titanium - good quide is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60705908&postcount=1767 then I have connected the phone to GearVR , setup started, completed and... ready to go!
AFAIK on the DittoNote5 rom You have to flash rom, then the additional package (in the posts just after initial post)
Generally speaking - read several pages on the front of the planned rom thread, and most of the pages from post announcing current rom version...
Enjoy

And ROM is released for download
Would this ROM work on an ALE-23 converted into ALE-21 ?
I think I will get this device and I'd like to know what can we expect about developing on this device. Can we expect a good developing in the future with nice aosp-based roms? Have the sources been released? If not, will be released?
Thanks
Kernel sources were released some month's ago, as far as I know. But no developing at the moment, I guess.

I've been wondering this too. I'm upgrading to P10 after weekend and worried there still seems to be so little development for this device.
Coming from LG G4 which only allowed EU & US T-Mobile to unlock bootloader so there was very little development there really, although more than there is here at the moment...
Well the stock rom is great, so all you really need is root and debloat. I've debloated mine and running pixel launcher with all the standard google Apps. The phone is amazing as it is really.
I'm sure I won't go down the route of rooting in first month or so anyway (because I can't figure out if unlocking bootloader voids warranty or not, and if so if re-locking reinstates) but it is handy even if just for adblock, adverts a lot of places become much too intrusive on a lot of sites, especially on a mobile and with limited data.

Could you write a list of all the apps you managed to remove safely?
Do you think it's safe to remove all google apps?
There are lots of things to know, starting of the bootloader (warranty). Maybe stock is great, but AOSP lovers want Lineage hehe! Do we have root methods? I'm coming from a Xperia M2, which at first has null developing but nos de have really good and stable ROMS, and whats more, today we got Oreo

Any news about android oreo for this model?
Enviado desde mi GT-I9305 mediante Tapatalk
why would you want that? my opinion is just stick to stable and proven roms, like debloated stock, rooted stock or RR
ps and be glad if your phone still works error free.
Oreo has many improvements on top of nougat so if there were to be an oreo rom for this device I'd say that would be a good one, ever actually read the changelog of oreo?
Hello,
I really hate MIUI and would like to move out to some custom ROM as soon as they seem stable enough for daily usage. My question is as mentioned in the title, do the ROMs for Mi 10T Lite support Mi 10i too (since they are basically the same device)? Are there any catches?
Thanks for any help in advance!
I've tried out DotOs on my Mi10i recently, worked great.

Have you experienced any lag or glitches when playing games (if any)?? I tried and I was heartbroken because I had to switch back to MIUI as all the games were lagging way too much
