Hey guys!
I went back to stock to use android pay (which works fine), but after I flashed back to stock I can't ecnrypt my phone! I just get an error "encrypt failed".
I used flashtool and flashed D5803_23.5.A.1.291_Customised_Nordic.ftf. I am also unable to access Sony's recovery.
I wonder if there are some files left from the root?

I was rooted and running CM6. I tried getting back to a stock 2.2 by flashing the stock image from Rom Manager. I downloaded the 2.2 update from google and it wouldn't update. In the system menu or bootloader I got a little format happy with boot/system and so on. Anyway, doing a nandroid now. Is there anyway to get this phone back to the kernel it shipped with?
You have to flash it with the stock recovery.
I've been using that Universal androot.http://www.androidappjudge.com/2010/08/one-click-root-application-universal_10.html I tried flashing stock 2.2 and I didn't read the two options, I just clicked them and kept going not realizing that I flashed the rooted, superuser version. Does this mean that I'm now rooted forever? When I try flashing stock 2.2 with rom manager It stops @ the android and /!\ symbol. Now it's even doing this with CM.
I'm now wondering how to get rid of whatever crap might be floating around on my phone and why it may not be flashing anymore?
there is nothing wrong, rooting allows you the ability to have super administrative rights. Since all you have done is grant yourself admin rights, the recovery should be the same.
Something is wrong. I can't Fix Permissions or flash anything.
Man, I should have just left it alone.

Did you wipe? I used 1-click root and I hadn't flashed anything in over a year so I forgot to wipe and I boot looped until I pulled the battery, booted into recovery and wiped. Simple solution but it could be worth mentioning...
So you are saying that, you have the stock recovery now? Triangle with little android? If so, Just download a PASSIMG.zip and flash through bootloader. This will take you to stock.
I have an N1 with locked bootloader and when I wanted to go back to stock(Forgot to get a nandroid of unroot rom). I had to flash a stock recovery. then downloaded the PASSIMG.zip from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=717870&highlight=frf91+downgrade
This takes me back to ERE76. Then I download an OTA of FRF85B.
I think fix permissions fixed everything. Thanks for the tips!
THIS HELPED TOO:

Hello everyone.
I just got my dad's old Galaxy not n7000. It had android ICS 4.0.3 on it.
I wanted to install a custom rom, so i rooted and installed one, but it got stuck on boot loop, though i followed all steps properly.
I restored back to the stock 4.0.3 using odin. After restoring, the lock screen would not show, nor would it detect my sim card. i couldn't fix it in the phone options. I googled the problem and it told me to check my imei. My phone didn't have one. I decided to try and install another custom rom, but it didn't work, went into bootloop again. I tried another, same thing. So i decided i would just update my phone to the official 4.1.2 update released in UK using odin.
but again went into bootloop. i restored it to 4.0.3 and it worked. However, when i went into recovery while in 4.1.2, a red error showed saying :failed to mount /efs.
Something is seriously wrong and i need help.
Thanks in advance.
Also I should note that, couple of years ago, there was an official update released by samsung, but that too made the phone go into a boot loop. we had to recover it using odin.
I was on EKXodus N4 5.1.1 URv5 N5R5 ROM, but then I decided to go back to stock because I experience heavy lag in that ROM.
I had COG2 on my computer, so I booted my phone into download mode, opened Odin, and flashed COG2.
When I tried to turn it on, it was stuck on the T-Mobile logo when I boot on.
At that point, I flashed CF Auto Root and TWRP, and tried to restore my phone(I made a backup)
But something went wrong, it showed it couldn't normal boot, either that, or it's stuck in recovery mode when booting on.
So basically I went back and forth between stock and custom, and constant flashing of root and TWRP.
Now, I finally get it to turn on, but it's on EKXodus N4 5.1.1 URv5 N5R5.
TLTR: My IMEI is unknown, and I couldn't get signal on my phone.
Plz help me T.T
As I understand that version of the rom might have been built with the new baseband (DOK2) so when you tried to install the one you had previously (COG2) it failed, my advice would be to try flashing the new version (N910TUVU2DOK2) and see if it fixes your IMEI issues. Before doing all of this verify the version you need (N910T or N910T3) to prevent any issues.
try with kies 3
Try to use emergency firmware recovery option from kies3
but first make a full wipe on twrp data, cache, dalvik, system and internal storage x3 times, reboot on download mode and then use kies to restore your note, if you was on cog2 restore it, or if you was in dok2 restore dok2.
Pd: sorry for my english
Hey guys!
Back when i got this phone, I installed TWRP on it and took a backup of the stock rom, flashed cm,and now I'm on LineageOS.
Now I want to sell this phone so I'm trying to go back to stock.
I restored the TWRP backup, but I'm getting an error when opening the album or camera app along the lines of "Memory unmounted or unavailable. mount memory to continue" is this problem solvable easily or is my only option to flash a stock ftf through flastool?
I don't want to download a 800mb+ file unless albsoutely unnecessary
Thanks
ok so basically i rooted my phone some time ago and it went kinda fine, after some time i realized i didn't really need it and i unrooted it just now with superSU, when doing so, superSU asked me if i wanted to return to the stock ROM, and i said yes, since i had an update to do, and you can't do those via OTA with a custom rom i think, anyways i said yes and unrooted my phone, the i proceded to delete lucky patcher, twrp, and everything root related, even after all this, after downloading the update my phone gets stuck in a bootloop and i have to press power+volumeup+volumedown to go into recovery mode (i think that's recovery mode?) and here it starts the update, after 5%, it says it failed and i have to reboot, how do i even check if i have my stock rom back?

Because you have not flashed the stock boot. Use dload method to boot to stock rom now. You may flash the same build number or the one with ota.
