I'm on ATT N950U Snapdragon
You received the OTA notice for Oreo?

Not sure if it's Oreo ... But I saw that ATT was pushing out the update.
Generally, all OTA/stock updates will break root. However, someone else may know a way to keep it.
You cannot install an ota while rooted. the verification will fail.

If you are rooted right now you will not be able to get ota updates. The only way to update is to go through odin and update or flash a rom with the newest update or unroot your device and then update.
I'd like to answer your second question but I would like some clarification on the question.
And the update to 6.0 could be from a couple of weeks to a couple of months or even longer. It depends on you carrier and samsung of course.
The phone is the international variant 920c dual sim
I have not rooted yet but will love to do it.
If marshmalow is near them i will wait
No rooted phones of Samsung will receive OTA updates. Unroot by flashing the stock rom with ODIN and look for OTA. Or else, download latest stock firmware from samobile or similar websites and update with ODIN. Then re-root if you want.
My PD6 is pretty buggy so I'd liked to get to the official one I guess. Has anyone on PD6 received the update OTA?

As far as I'm aware, there is no OTA from PD6, simply because PD6 is the same build as the OTA. As far as the update server is concerned, you're running the most recent version, so it won't offer you an OTA update. I would say try a factory reset, or if that doesn't work, you may have to wait until we have an Odin file for PD6
I have not seen confirmation, but I assume you could ODIN back to OJ7 and then get the OTA.
My phone is still stuck on MOB31S. For some reason it won't see any Nougat update.
Can I just download the N6F26U OTA and update directly to that?
Yep.
Did anyone else get an update to QC1 recently? I can't notice anything too different, except for the latest security patch.
Yes, it's just a normal security patch. No major changes unfortunately

There is updated Bootloader to V6 too. So you can't downgrade anymore to privies firmware.
New S5DPK5-to-S6DQC1-UP ADB sideload update. This update is official
If you update you not going to be able to go back unless someone post ODIN files of this firmware. Also i have Nougat files U5EQB8 to U6EQC9 with Version 6 bootloader is anybody want to try PM me. I will not post here for now since this contain version 6 bootloader and is not official yet so you can go back if other build will become official.

I can't tell. I don't own S6E model.
Clicking from Edge of Galaxy
I have the Olympic Edition N950N and I see that there is a software update for the phone but it is not showing up in the OTA or with smart switch. If I were to use Odin to update my phone, would the Olympic boot screen and theme be deleted on my phone? Or should I just wait and see if I get the OTA at some point?
I would recommend that you wait for it to become available via OTA rather than install manually. As you might accidentally install the OS for a different variant onto your device and brick it.

Ok, but I saw this for the KTC model, hopefully I will get the OTA soon. If you have a N950N, did you get your update yet? I know the other carriers have also got thier July updates as well. And they look like big updates as well, samfirm said it was 3.5 GB, and I haven't had an update since may with the April security patch. But thanks for your help!

I have already received that update for my device. I have the LG telecom model of the N950N. You should have received yours by now. Guess it must take a little longer for the Olympic edition....
