Some help please!

Hi all,
long time reader/poster but in the WinMo forums.
Have passed to Android but im afraid im getting really frustrated at the moment. I have tried searching but there's way too much material here..
I have a couple of questions that I would really like someone to answer for me:
- I am trying to understand the different JF versions around.. how does this work? is there a post somewhere that explains?
- I am on UK RC9 stock, for the moment not rooted but planning to. if I do, what update should i install after rooting.. as in.. what version is newer than RC9? (RC33 is for US only..)
- my G1 is unlocked and im using a Vodafone SIM card (stock RC9).. will I get OTA updates as well or only if I am on TMobile?
- if I get OTA updates, should I maybe wait for a cupcake OTA before rooting?
Sorry if this sounds over-noobish, I still havent adapted to the android mentality hopefully soon tho.
I have read all the stickys (how to root etc) and I am technical enough to understand telnet etc but i miss the basics apparently.
Any help is HIGHLY appreciated.

There are 3 JF versions. RC33 v1.42, RC9 v1.43 and ADP1.1h v1.43.
Since you state that you are on UK RC9 stock I would use the RC9 version if you decide to root.
Yes you will get OTA updates. Currently RC 9 is the latest for UK (RC33 is for USA).
If you are rooted you will probably be able to upgrade to cupcake/new update before you would get it OTA. There will be no advantage to waiting for a new update to root.

[Q] Any newer Froyo version on the horizon (Scandinavia)?

Have installed the latest fw from Kies (Scandinavia). But, is there any newer version unofficially released which we soon can hope will hit official status?

Geeze... How 'bout being happy with the FROYO that you HAVE and let the rest of us in the world get ours before wondering if there is ANOTHER update for Scandinavia...

Hehe, well I still think this Froyo version sucks (laggy), and hope it will be fixed.
After all, got my money back now, so I am looking for a new phone. Nexus S seems to be the one, but if the rumour is true and it will only shi with 384 mb ram am still at a loss...

[Q] HD7S flashing help???

Hey I would like to flash the Deepshining v6.1 rom to my HD7S. I am wondering one thing, when I flash back to NoDo, will it affect the radio since it is not an AT&T radio? Oh and one more thing, if that doesn't bother it, then will the Deepshining rom mess it up since it is for the HD7 (Tmobile or other euro version) not the AT&T version? I just want to make sure the radio will work fine (getting 3g and all).

P.S. if it will mess it up, is there another radio I can flash to make it work? I really want to be able to side load apps.

You should be fine, I flashed the DFT rom to my HD7s and everything is working fine

as already stated... will be fine.
each of the Custom ROMs are unbranded, so any can be used on any Schubert device with XSPL.
one can change the Radio of their device. link in my signature.

Hey thanks for all the replies but now that I have a custom rom on my HD7S everything works great except 3g. It shows the icon (an "H") but I cannot surf the web or anything. It just tells me to check my connection. There is no posted radio for att mango so I am using the EURO radio (latest with tethering). What is wrong?

use HTC Connection Setup to fix your data.
H is 3G or 3G+, depends on the Custom ROM using and what the chef set it as.

How did you do it? Is everything still working?

I also have the ATT HD7S and would like to flash the DeepShinning rom as well. How is DeepShinning ROM working for you, currious to see if you are still using it.
Trying to follow all these instrunctions from different pages is quite confusing. I just wanted to find out if you had to use the GoldCard method. I think once I get that piece done the rest will be pretty simple, I just wanted to confirm that you had to use it.
Any followup and advise would be much appreciated!

[Q] Finding a ROM that has wifi-Driext and NFC

Hi, I am sorry if I dont get the correct terminology, I am not sure of how this works properly. I have been searching for a ROM that I can use on my Galaxy S3 mini i18190N, its got NFC included. Is there one? I have rooted it so for with Cyanogen MOD by Nova, but its not with NFC, and it has major battery problems and the Wifi-Direct doesnt work. I have been with them since last December, but nothing has changed. I am not an expert, so would need a little bit of direction. I have been running the nightlies so I have flashed my phone almost every night since December. I have been using Clockwork Touch to Flash the ROM. My Carrier is EE, in the UK. Can somebody post me in the right direction please.

i would assume your search did not turn up any information of a ROM that has NFC support
sadly that is because there is none currently
should you wish to have NFC support for your phone it would mean loading a stock ROM and rooting that then making a few mods to that as per your preferences
best place to start would be running a search for the latest firmware for your model of phone then working from there

I want to network unlock it. Please help me ...
i have some requests to the owners of the same devices
1. Can i get Kitkat [official] ?
2. Give me the apps/games thread for the same .
3. can i unlock it from home free ???

1. Official Kitkat will roll any day....samsung realeased the update to the carriers and we are waiting for them to do their part(add modem part and test)...
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps here is...but be carefull...some apps need to be installed as normal app...if they work great...if not uninstall it...but for those apps who need to be flashed don't risk it...
That thread is for the normal s3...there isn't one made for the s3 LTE(our phones)
3.There is a trick...downgrade to 4.1.2 and use that trick...maybe someone will post it...but you need a 4.1.2 with the 4.3 bootloader or else phone won't boot....

Guys i got a new SGH-I747M galaxy s3 from canada [kodoo] with dual core + 2GB ram.
Stock 4.3
I got it unlocked at a local shop for Rs. 400 But i got network issues.
My phone doest get connected to the network.
At the notification bar i got emergency calls only. Towers are full. i niether can make calls nor receive.
The shop keeper is *****.
I cant do anything.
Please help me guys
1. Led me to the threads for games/apps for SGH-I747M.
2. Can i get kitkat [official]?
3. i am unable to connect it via usb ??
