This looks like a riddle, but I supose you want the home screen to auto rotate in all directions? it can, but be advised that the nav bar only comes out from the bottom edge, that is, if in landscape mode you have to swipe from the right or left depending how you turned the device
Screen Rotation Control app by jubo Co in play store solves the problem.even 180 degrees you can rotate the screen

It means that he home screen & app drawer can be viewed in landscape mode when rotating the phone (but not upside down still). There's a setting in TW to enable/disable this feature. Previously this could not be done stock.
FYI the Samsung Experience just updated for me via the Galaxy App Store and now supports landscape on the Note8 however you need to enable it via the home screen settings first.
do you have .apk of this?
I just saw this on the main thread and I downloaded the APK and it's GLORIOUS!!!!
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsu...ouchwiz-home/touchwiz-home-9-0-10-76-release/
This dont install
Then I would advise that you wait for the OS update. Which should arrive very soon on your device. I would recommend that you check the Home Screen Settings Menu to see if you have already had it installed on your device.
Same here. App won't install and there is no update on Note 8 exynos. That's a let down, since they just pushed Aug security patch. Landscape home is so handy. Also I need to apply black nav bar, but apparently this can only be done via adb. If I do this and then Experience Home gets finally here, I wonder will it reset the black bar or keep it.

Hmm I'm on n950f (exynos) with the August patch and I have launcher in landscape mode.
My device from xeu but I've flashed xef, btu, and dbt and back to XEU firmwares and I still got the updated launcher.
Try searching for a signed Samsung experience home launcher.
Weird!
Weird indeed. I have the same model as us, XEU (IRL/UK), same Home Ex version and lates Aug patch and yet the option doesn't show. I tried clear catche and data in Home app, nothing changed. Also I don't have the luxury to factory reset my phone again. I also uninstall Home update from Play Store and Updated in Galaxy Apps, no change, no landscape. This is driving me mad.
My Model is SM-N950FZKAXEU. Model doesn't even show up on Samsung support page Ireland, but I will contact them anyway.
My Samsung Experience Home is version 9.0.10.76

What's the version of your "Samsung Experience-Start" App? Mine is 9.0.10.76 and auto rotation works.
(Settings|Homescreen|Info)
You may have also the option to update in the info screen.
Hey, my Samsung Experience Home is version 9.0.10.76 and there's no such toggle in the menu unfortunately. Maybe that's a bug that I can't see home screen in landscape mode? I'm out of ideas.
In the actual App Info I only have - three dots - Uninstall updates, which I did before in Galaxy Apps and then updated, rebooted, no change.

I'm currently using Note 8 SM-N950W with nova launcher. After April update, wallpaper on the home screen won't rotate, i checked nova launcher's setting in "Look & feel" and set the screen to auto rotate, the icons and notification bar changed orientation but not the background image.
Is anyone having this issue?
Yeah, it looks to me like they are breaking feature to push users to the new phones that "officially support" them. Total Apple move. Try using KLWP with two images that will swap when orientation changes.

No joy, its persisting through other launchers as well (Apex, lawnchair, ect.) I'll do a reset, see if that helps and report back.
[EDIT]
Factory reset didn't work either.
works fine for me; make sure you have it enabled in your quick settings..
exact same problem

Mine is doing the same thing it happens in other launchers too i have done resets and even broke down and called tech support they couldn't figure it out either they kept thinking I was saying the rotate didnt work once I got it through that the screen rotated just fine they gave up.
My wallpaper rotates, just enabled it to test, as I really dont like it to rotate
Ever since the April Security Patch (the May Security Patch didn't fix it), I have also been unable to get the wallpaper on other launchers to rotate no matter what I do. I have sent two reports to Samsung via Samsung+ Feedback. One message was responded to and they basically forwarded my log data to their research team and the feedback rep is supposed to reply as soon as he gets info from the research team. The second message has yet to be responded to.
I got a reply saying "I would like to inform you that wallpaper and home screen will not rotate when the auto rotate is enabled, only the screen will rotate."
Whatever that means...

Sounds like they're saying that it's working as intended.
Yes, me too. Samsung Note 8 SM-N950F. Not sure if it's a Nova update or the fact that my phone updated to Oreo. Following...
So, I've been searching for a while, to see if anybody has found a solution. I can confirm, this has to be something that was disabled by Samsung, in Touchwiz or whatever the heck they rebranded the UI to. I use Nova Launcher, but switched back to the Samsung UI, just to toggle off the Portrait mode, but that doesn't make any difference for the Wallpaper rotating. This has to be one of the biggest "fail" updates that I've seen Samsung do. What makes even less sense to me is that, the Tab S4 that I just purchased, has no problem rotating the wallpaper. Did they think that people just wouldn't need it for phones, so they just disable it?
If anybody has found a solution (either via app or side-loaded apk), please update on this post.
I noticed this on my Note8, now on my Note9, as well as my relatives that have S8's and S8+'s. I seriously don't know why they disabled wallpaper rotation, if they started offering homescreen rotation. It literally makes no sense, especially since their newest tablet offering does it without issue.
Word is, from what I've read elsewhere, this was done by Google. Why? Who the H knows! Gotta be one of the friggin dumbest 'updates' I've ever seen from them. Bought a Note 9 and have tried every fricking setting and whatnot to get that stupid paper to rotate with no luck. Just stupid. Seriously, Google?!?
It has been many months, but after Pie update, I still have this problem.
Do they fired the guy and forget the problem? Or do they just dont care about the user.
Supposed his Highness Alfabet, decided in ours poor favour.
And a rotating wallpaper is totally disturbing.
Unnecessary.
Why an user may need to choose????
If someone ask, tell him: Intended and bye.
I will eat one more cookie arround and get back to work...
My wallpaper on my Note 8 never rotated when I disabled portate mode on my device...... I think this feature may only be available on tablets rather than mobile devices.
Hi guys, I'm new using Samsung phone. Is there any way to lock the screen without press power button? I saw an app called "Good lock" but it's server down

Firstly,
it depends what "Samsung phone" you got.. a Note 9 or what?
Secondly,
as far as i know ? ,
if you use a 3rd party lockscreen app, you canot use Fingerprint etc to lock/ unlock and certain other apps eg like some banking apps.
You have to use a stock (Samsung) method.
Good lock 2018, is only available to certain markets,
worldwide.
I do not have option to install Good lock 2018.
I have installed standalone, NavStar app (Samsung)
(ApkMirror website)
which i believe is part of Good lock 2018.
It has navbar lockscreen option.
Works fine, no issues.
I'm sure there is other Samsung options also. eg Edge panels etc.
See screenshot
If you don't mine an onscreen floating button, you could use the Assistant menu found under Accessibility, Dexterity and interaction to get a floating always on button. You select the features that you want or turn off all the features except the lock one.
you can just set it to lock after 5 seconds when the screen goes off.
Nova Launcher Prime is another option - You can use gestures to screen lock by double-tapping screen or double-tapping the status bar.
Sorry not mentioned , it's Samsung Note 9. I tried install Good lock 2018, but can't use.

Then you are in same boat as me.
I couldn't install Good lock 2018 directly, due to market restrains, etc.
I had to separately in install each standalone app
that's included in Good Lock 2018.
I downloaded these standalone apks.
from ApkMirror website, also i had to download
Activity Manager (free) from Google Play .
It's an app to create shortcuts, to enable you to access each standalone app settings, as it the apps
won't appear in app drawer.
See screenshot, for
some of standalone apps (Good lock 2018) and Activity Manager app.
I have a Note 9 and use a screen lock app from the store. It lives in the notification area and you just tap to turn screen off.

Use the Navistar "add a button".
Just on screen lock put the nav bar with the off button.
Just got this phone yesterday and noticed that I can't do anything while receiving a call, there is an "always on top" screen that won't go away by pressing any of the buttons until you hang up. This is really annoying since it completely disables the phone. Let says you are driving using google maps and somebody calls you, you will miss your exit for sure, or you want to check a text while talking on the phone, not possible... Already tried to disable the phone notifications, as well as trying all the available options ( for notifications), also tried with other phone apps and with SystemUI Tuner app all with no success.
Is anybody else having this issue? I'm happy to provide any info you guys might need as well as do any test. Currently using Nova launcher,
Android version 9,
Security patch Jun 5 2019.

Maybe because of Nova Launcher. It is actually kinda weird. What firmware is installed on your ROG Phone 2?
I'm also on WW_16.0622.1906.19_0 and when I'm in a call I can just go home or use recent apps while in a call, mine looks like this, note the green bar at the top of the Play store screenshot.
I also use Nova launcher.

Nothing happens in mine when I press the home or recent apps while in the call screen, I can drag the top menu but that's about it, in this menu even if I press the little gear to go to settings it opens it in the background and once the call is over that will be the first screen that I can see. But somehow the call screen is always on top. On this phone I can't get the green bar, I'm used to it from all my other past android phones, but not on this one.
Any ideas?

I updated my phone today but the option for the gesture navigation option stays grey and I can't get into the menu. I want to use this nice looking and smoothly working Google bar that I've seen in the beta one ui 2.0 Videos. Is it just for me like this or are there more people with the same problem... The more option tab stays grey, I deleted cache and restarted the phone so many time already. Don't know what it is. Before the update I had a lot of unnecessary apps disabled with adhell. After the update my multitasking window wouldn't open no matter what. After uninstalling adhell it worked again. There could be a connection but I don't know which it it
Samsung seems to of broken something there. It is good news for me for whenever my carrier updates my S10+ to Android 10 as I don't like the gesture crap at all.

On Reddit there is and adb command to get it work, but didnt on mine. I used lawnchair, but Samsung one is raster imo.
In Nova Launcher settings there's a message that the new gestures aren't supposed to work with third party launchers, cause Google implemented a barrier for this in Android 10's source code which checks if the launcher is a system.app or not. Maybe it works on rooted phone with systemized Nova.

Got a link? I'm on Lawnchair too.
On Nova's Discord they said that this won't happen on Nova and even with Lawn chair it doesn't work for everyone. We just can hope and wait...but I have to admit that I tried the old and the new gestures for a couple of days but switched back to the classic navbar because it's easier if using just one hand and also when the phone is mounted in my car.
I'm using Nova and it's fine

As seen here, this is the most annoying bug on the phone now...
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyTab/comments/l3wnhr
This is for people on One UI 3.1 using third party launchers. You might come across a bug where:
1.The launcher keeps stopping/force closing or
2. Exiting an app causes the screen to flash and does nothing if you touch the screen immediately after.
Any fixes or workarounds?
I've had this issue with Nova Launcher and my S21 Ultra. Haven't found a permanent fix for it as yet.

I believe we (AUS) owners are one firmware release behind (I'm on AUA4 with a build date of early Jan where the latest is AUAC with a build date later in Jan) so perhaps it's been fixed in the latest release?
If I use the Samsung gestures (swipe up from the bottom), Fluid Navigation gestures doesn't actually prevent those gestures from working for some reason (even after running the ADB command needed)

Yes these bugs are unacceptable
I have this issue as well where swiping up to go home causes the screen to flash and become unresponsive for a second or so. It only happens with gesture navigation and a 3rd party launcher.
I'm on the update release January the 1st. Is there a chance this is fixed in an update already available in part of the world?
Never mind I already have AUAC. that does not fix it. We may need to report this bug to Samsung. Has anyone done that? Chances are a fix is coming since they did fix the rest of the issues that were on earlier oneui versions for gestures in 3rd party launchers.
Did anyone confirm this happens in all 3rd party launchers and not just Nova?

Are you using gesture navigation? AFAIK it only affects the home gesture. Use Nova, launch an app. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to go home and immediately after, try tapping an icon on the launcher screen to launch another app. You notice no unresponsive issue here?

That's interesting. Exynos version? I wonder what causes some of us (most?) to experience it but not you. I've set Nova as default in the system settings, not in Nova, but that should produce the same effect. Did you do anything else between the non working and the working state?
By Samsung swipe up, do you mean swipe up from the bottom in 3 different places rather than swiping screen left and right edges to go back? I use the version where you swipe left and right edges for back. Is that it perhaps?

Yes exynos. India variant. And yes for your last question too. I prefer the swipe up gestures because using the side swipe with a case I couldn't get it to work reliably.
I'm sorry I couldn't find the setting for this in the settings menu so when I first experienced this issue I simply set nova as default through its own settings.
Also I had used smartswitch cable transfer to migrate all data apps and settings over from the S20+

Thanks for this thread, this was driving me crazy, i tried Action Launcher, Niagra, Smart Launcher and they all have the stutter when you return to then home screen when using android 11 gestures. Samsung gestures fixes but my muscle memory is to swipe from the sides for back so i'm struggling with it. Currently back to the One UI launcher to be able to use android gestures seamlessly. Hoping for a fix to this in future updates to OneUI but doubtful!
