[Q] Flashing custom ROM issue (mount system) - Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I've encountered a big problem on my zuk z2 pro :
I used the Cosme Rom for a while and I wanted to upgrade the ROM via Twrp. As advised I wiped the system, cache, data. But since then, I can't flash any ROM : I've got the error 7 and "failed to mount /system" every time I try.
I have already tried to reflash custom recoveries (twrp 3.2.1.0, 3.1, redwolf) and got the same issue every time
I also tried to flash by QFIL the zui 1.9 and 2.3 with the stock recovery, the unlocking bootloader again and then flash a custom recovery, but without success
If someone can help me, i would be very gratefull, i got this problem for about a month and my only way to keep the phone running is to use Zui...
Thanks !

Go to twrp / wipe / format data/ "yes" / enter . Watch out ! You lost your all data . Then restart to twrp again . By the way , you must have at least 2.5 firmware if you want to flash custom ROMs based on Android 7.1 and above .

Can I flashed this from beta 12 with TWRP?
What steps should I follow to flash this ROM if I am coming from a custom ROM? I was on VertexOS with 4.0.3 firmware and using RENDER KERNEL. Do I just wipe system, data, and cache and then flash OOS and SuperSU?
i have flashed the full rom.zip on twrp . now when i boot into recovery, twrp is asking to enter password ?? what should i need to do ?? i guess phone is encrypted .. How can i get my files back ???
Can someone extract the gallery and camera app in oos and post it. Thanks

What version of TWRP that you are using? Mine is 3.0.4.1 and i have no issue on the encryption error. Try to flash the latest TWRP version to see if that can bypass the error message or not.
Google Drive link for OP3. anyone? Thank you.
I have also decrypted memory. How to upgrade to the new version without encrypting memory again (and loosing everything)?

Flashed stock recovery n also tried twrp recovery.. Nothing bypassed the encryption. Asked for password. Finally decided to wipe the internal storage.
Lost all my personal data n pics :crying:
Video installation guide? I may not want to have TWRP problems..
Just one simple question: Why are you all staying at 3.0.4-1, when official 3.1.0.0 is out, able to get the job done without any problem? Just asking.

TWRP error : e: recv error on uevent

hello.
I used a twrp ( from blue-saprk ) so many times.but tonight i tried to flash a new rom.booted to twrp.format data - wipe everything - reset factory ....
when i copied rom and gapps to phone i noticed a little lag.i started to flash rom but it said : e: recv error on uevent.
it flashed rom but showed that error.
again showed when i wanted to flash gapps.
i changed twrp.flashed latest bluespark but it shows that error again.
p.s : i used drivedroid app to install ubuntu on my laptop too.can it cause any damage to internal storage ?
anyone has that error before ?

Try doing a Google search on "TWRP recv error on uevent".
I saw some suggestions of using a 3.1 version of TWRP.

Red Wolf Recovery seems to be very successful at fixing issues. Especially Decryption problems. Even if it's of no help here, it's a good one to keep in mind.
tried redwolf too.error is still there.i will use twrp 3.1 version for testing.
just 2 questions :
- is this a hardware problem ?
- can this error be because of my pc ? should i use on other systems too ? because i notice this lag starts after copying files to phone for flashing.

I would try unbrick guide and start from scratch, if the problem persist then I'd suspect hardware failure

Try performing following steps:
1. Go to recovery and wipe cache, system, & data.
2. Then go to repair and repair system.
3. Now try to flashing rom.
This error can be ignored. It's actually not an error but reported as one. Whoever is experiencing issues with backups or flashing, it is not related to this message.
Thank you

Mi 8 Global can't install any custom ROM

Hi, sorry for bad English.
I'm having trouble installing Custom ROMs on my Mi 8 Global. Any custom rom I install, after reboot on TWRP, the mobile does not start, it only stays on the fastboot screen or returns to the TWRP.
I already unlocked the bootloader, ADB ON, drivers installed on PC, TWRP OK, all neededs WIPEs ...
I can only install the STOCKs ROMs. I think the problem is when doing FLASH in the ROMs. It may be that I can only install ROM by Fastboot, but by Recovery not.
In the TWRP LOG, there is not a single error after installing the ROMs, always success.
I follow all the tutorials, but never start the system after installing by recovery.
Another thing I noticed is that when I install the custom rom, if I go in the TWRP file browser and go there in the SDCard folder, the files do not appear as it usually gets, such as the "Android" folder for example.
I've had several Androids since the Galaxy Y time and I've never had this problem.
Any idea?

You have to format data via typing "yes", it is not wiping data, it is button in twrp. After that everything gonna be ok.
maybe you should flash a miui based on android pie (globe developer version)
then use the latest twrp recovery (both wzsx and black pitch is ok)

No, not a tip has solved the problem. Yesterday I spent all day trying different things, searching in several sites but nothing works. I'll have to settle for the ROM stock.
I had the same problem installing pixel experience you need to flash stock fastboot rom via miflash be careful, do not select the relock option, then install twrp, wipe system, caches and data and install your custom rom It worked for me.

Problem solved!
Sorry bad english, translated by Google Translate ...
Now I've been able to install custom ROMs.
I tested Havok and Pixel Experience.
I'll speak the steps I did:
1 - Install the Stock Pie: MIUI Global Stable 10.1.2.0 (dipper_global_images_V10.1.2.0.PEAMIFI_20181211.0000.00_9.0_global_0099f5af5f)
Install with XiaomiMiFlash, at the bottom, check the option "Clean All".
NO INSTALL ON TWRP MODE.
2 - Start the system normal and make ADB ON
3 - Make Root
4 - Start the system normal again
5 - Install TWRP: recovery-TWRP-3.2.2-0711-XIAOMI8-CN-wzsx150 (use this version)
6 - WIPE > Advanced> System, Data, Cache
7 - Flash ROM: PixelExperience_dipper-9.0-20190111-2226-OFFICIAL
8 - Reboot System
9 - Ready!
10 - Optional Step (*recommended*) - Go again in TWRP and Wipe > System, Data, Cache, Internal Storage > Flash ROM > Reboot.
After this procedure I was able to install custom roms without problems.

Question PLEASE HELP Can't Flash EU rom to Mi 11 ultra without Bricking

I'm having a big problem. I've had to unbrick my Mi11 ultra 5 times with the miflash tool because every time I flash the custom rom through TWRP it complete then reboots with no OS. I copy the rom to the phone. Go in to TWRP and then I go to install and find the zip file. I choose it and it goes through the process but it still reboots into TWRP with no OS. I've tried it with and without root with Magisk. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?! Please help. Here is the link for the ROM I'm trying to use https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=14943124697586336463
Format data after flashing the EU ROM.
The first time you load the system, the screen will stay a loooong time with the MIUI logo; don't panic and be patient.
Hope it works for you.
Regards.
Yes, as above. If you don't format data with the confirmation of yes in the twrp wipe menu, it will alway go back to twrp.
The reason is that when you change kernal branch, there may be partition differences between them. A format clears out old data crossing the new partition layout and allows boot.

Buddy as best try to flash over Fastboot, then after that install TWRP and mount all partitions. Then klick wipe-- factory reset and wipe and after that format data with confirm yes. after that you need to install inject TWRP inject. You can find it in ADVANCED. After that klick fix Contexts. And reboot.
After that the OS will reinstall . Try it, that will work 100%

Question Phone Soft Bricked ?

Hi guys,
I was on "xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11Pro_MI11Ultra_V12.5.20.0.RKACNXM_v12-11.zip" (rooted with Magisk and with 2-3 modules), this Rom is from end of 2021 so I decided that I have to move on and give a try to "xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11Pro_MI11Ultra_V13.0.13.0.SKACNXM_v13-12".
First I decided to update my TWRP. I can't remember but I think that it was the one included in the v12.5.20 Xiaomi.EU Rom. I wanted to install "twrp-3.6.2_12-v5.1_A12-star-skkk.img".
First I removed PIN + Fingerprint and then restarted in Fastboot and booted with this kkk TWRP with "fastboot boot twrp.img", then I installed it with "Install Recovery Ramdisk", then rebooted to recovery (it was still ok) and finally rebooted to system ... and now it reboots in Fastboot.
I still have access to TWRP and I can see my files, so before I mess up more I'm backuping some files but it's f#£%ing slow .
What step(s) should I do to make the rom work again ?
I think of flashing Magisk-uninstaller (new TWRP told me at the end of installation that root was lost and that I had to re install it). Maybe there is something remaining from Magisk ?
Then, I think I'll flash "xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11Pro_MI11Ultra_V12.5.20.0.RKACNXM_v12-11.zip" again.
Do you have any advice ?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. : I know that I should post on Xiaomi.EU but I've tried to create an account on their forum since many years and it's insane but I used ~10 emails and I always have been detected as a bot or spam .

Always unroot before.
2 options:
Xiaomi eu rom v12 or 13, but you will need to format the data before flashing
Twrp/wipe/format data/type yes/reboot twrp.
If errors(red lines)repeat the operation.
Or use Miflash https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/
In both cases you will lose your data.
You can try a backup with the twrp (without guarantee).

So nothing special, just flash and format data before if it's a different one ?

Flashed old Rom and everything is fine
So I'm back to the beginning .
Now I don't know how to move to last Xiaomi.EU.
Since kkk TWRP was ok to flash the old ROM, do you think it'll be ok to install last Xiaomi.EU ? Or maybe there is a better/safer TWRP to do it ?
And thx again for your support
