All of us know what is the worst thing in our phone. It is a low capacity of RAM. And of course, there is no RAM expander app which can enlarge your RAM from 512MB to 2GB.
Now I am going to show you how to free your RAM with no bad impact on your system stability.
All Users:
In Google Play Store there is an app which allows you to disable various services of system or third-party apps. Its name is My Android Tools. Developed by WangQi. In this app you can disable services which are running in the background and are occupying your RAM and even more.
Also I found out that this app may cause BOOTLOOPs and the only way to get rid of BOOTLOOPs is factory reset. But if you are an enthusiast of this app, you can try disabling all of the Google Play Services. :cyclops: You shall see. :cyclops:
Which services have I disabled?
Code:
[I]Note: Services marked as " *xyz* " are safe to disable. [/I]
com.android.smspush:
-*WapPushManager*
Google Play Services:
-*AdRequestBrokerService*
-*AdvertisingIdService*
-*AnalyticsService*
-*DeviceConnectionServiceProvider*
-*DispatchingService*
-FusedLocationService
-FusedProviderService
-*GcmService*
-*GeocodeService*
-GeofenceProviderService
-*GoogleHttpService*
-*GoogleLocationManagerService*
-*GoogleLocationService*
-*LocationWearableListenerService*
-NetworkLocationService
-*NlpLocationReceiverService*
-*ProxyGTalkService*
-*SyncService*
-*SystemUpdateService*
-*WearableService*
Google Play Store:
-*ContentSyncService*
-*DailyHygiene*
-*InAppBillingService*
-*MarkedBillingService*
Google Services Framework:
-*EventLogService*
-*CheckinService*
-SystemUpdateService
Messaging:
-*TransactionService*
-Network Location:
-*NetworkLocationService*
SIM Tool Kit:
-*StkAppService*
All of the *Voice+* services.
Which receivers have I disabled?
Code:
Google Play Services:
-AccountsChangedReceiver
-CheckinService$ActiveReceiver
-ConnectivityReceiver
-GServicesChangedReceiver
-PowerConnectedReceiver
-SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
-SystemUpdateService$Receiver
Disabling the Google Play services may cause huge battery draining. Be careful with it. I am not responsible for any potential damage to your device.
Anyway, there is always an option to enable services which were already disabled. I have not written all of the services which can be disabled! With this app I have freed almost 35MB of RAM.
And if you want to know which services or processes are persistently causing wakelocks, the best app I have found is Wakelock Detector-Save Battery. It is developed by UzumApps and you can Download it from the Google Play Store. With this app you can see particular name of service which is consistently waking your device and preventing it from deep sleep. And if you know the name of that nasty service you can disable it by My Android Tools app. Isn´t that simple?
Conclusion
There is no need for RAMHack versions of kernel because you will have enough free RAM to switch between two or three running apps. As a daily-driver I can see big imrovements in Graphic. Because that 32MB of RAM did not come from heaven. You can record 720p videos or play "heavy" games without any annoying lags. That is my point of view.

Personal recommendations
I have been testing custom ROMs for a quite long time. In my opinion, the best stable and reliable custom ROM for our old device is CM10 Look Ma! No Hands! by pengus77. I know that it is old JellyBean Android 4.1 but we have to admit that our device was not made for Android 4.4 Kitkat. When I came to this ROM I was pretty shocked of its amazing performance and fluency. I have not seen any bugs or huge lags like in the latest CM11 ROMS yet. I understood why they call pengus77 master. So I would recommend you this ROM.
You can download this ROM from this post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49850599&postcount=3775
Also see this post which is really helpful - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54626701&postcount=3790
Do not install heavy apps such as Facebook or Google Chrome. They are not developed primarily to our device since 2013. Disable or unninstall all system apps which are useless. For example default Email, Google Search, Google TTS, Pico TTS, Sound Recorder, Talk/Hangouts, TalkBack, Voice dialler, default launchers and many many more. Instead of default launcher use Nova launcher. Minimize number of widgets on your desktop because they have got running services in the background.
Small advice :
Do not use taskers or "Clean Masters"! Android’s operating system has its own native handler for assigning RAM to apps and making sure that all of it is being used in the most optimal way. In fact, Android purposely tries to keep apps loaded into RAM for better performance.
+CM11 and SlimKat users:
Did you know that in CM11 and latest SlimKat 9.0 there is a feature called Privacy Guard?
With this feature you can simply and easily take control of your apps. You can decide which permissions have to be denied for individual apps.
Go to > Settings > Privacy > Privacy Guard – you will see your apps listed – tap the shield to enable/disable an app* (In SlimKat ROM, Go to > Settings > Security > Privacy Guard)
Check the > Settings menu for the option to reveal native apps
Usage stats – long press an app > options page will show detailed breakdown of each apps permissions. You can control these individually. More important for me is the app option that allows you to see the last time that permission was requested
Most if not all apps permissions will automatically be set to “Allowed”. You can control for example whether an app has access to your location data – if so you can set to “Denied”. For example, in Google Play Services I have denied Location,Wake up and Keep awake.
Once you’ve done the above, you can go back to the main list of apps and tap > Advanced button in > Settings. You will now see a category view which is useful to look through groups of apps with similar problems
Be aware of Auto-Start permission requests in “Bootup”. These are apps that will use your battery and monitor Wake up – useful to keep an eye on!
We should acknowledge that our device is too old and it has got no future. But when God will send to us stable Kitkat ROM and Kernel it will be amazing.

Hello,
I had latest CM11 by tonyp, I think that it was cm-11-20150218-m1-p990. But then I got bootloop (caused by Disable Service app ). After that I decided to flash latest SlimKat 9.0 for p990. IMHO, the best Kitkat based ROM available yet. And then I tried to remove system apps with built-in app. Reboot. Stucked on LG logo. F*cked again.
Then I repaired my phone with AIO toolkit and finally I have just flashed CM10 Look Ma! on my device.
Haha The epic story XD
Its time to change that old device LIKE 2 Years ago GT540. I think i buy a Xperia Z1 compact
Tell me how you do the 200 mb ram free , I disabled everything and have only 170-160 free ;(

Hello,
I disabled all of the services which are already written in main post. Also I do not install many apps on my device so it does look fresh and cleanly. Installed apps are cached in RAM and this might be just one of the reasons why you cannot reach such high values of free RAM as I have recently had.
EDIT 1: I think that if you have got 160MB free of RAM, it is everything alright. Do not experiment too much!
Big performance and memory boost (+30-40MB) makes just freezing the Google Play Services (you can do it even with Performance Control only).
On the other hand you will lose various features and various apps (or its features) will stop working - but you will be notified about it with dialog "Application requires Google Play Services, activate it." or something similar. By disabling only some services I think you will not get notified about that and you might be in false impression that everything works okay. Some features that depends on Play services are: Google cloud messaging (push notifications), saving app data in cloud, some synchronizations, google login in apps,...
Also I freeze these apps (just for inspiration - they are safe to disable for me as I don't use them): Cell Broadcasts, Voice Dialer, Themes Chooser and Themes Provider, Print Spooler, Exchange Services, DSP Manager, Voice+, WhisperPush
Hi All,
I just recently rooted my Note5 with ForeverLoco's ROM using ODIN and with Anter47's Kernel. I noticed that after a while, the accessibility services (Settings > Accessibility > Services) which control Tasker and Greenify (among others) all turn themselves off after I manually turn them all back on. I have Clean Master as well as Greenify that kills/hibernates apps but none of the apps in the accessibility page are included on either list. What am i doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

On the S6 edge, I have a similar problem: the settings remain, but they simply stop working after some time. I have to either restart the phone, or switch them off and back on to get them working again.

hi
I also had similar problem when i had my Note4.I was also rooted etc etc .My workaround was to... ..when i flashed my new updated stock Rom i would quickly enable it ,but as you stated it would/might turn off later , I flashed numerous Lollipop Roms and it was present in all except my last Note 4 Rom.. ...COH4. i found issue to be fixed in this Rom.
The problem ( i supect ) , is that most users don't use this service a lot ,so it goes mostly unnoticed .Very fustrating "bug"
So far i have no issues with my Note5 .
Could be that root interferes with setting or just a Samsung "bug " ????
good luck

My S6 edge is not rooted, so it might be a bug on some Samsung roms
I am having the same issue on my find 7. It is very frustrating as I just set up a lot of automation tasks that rely in autovoice being accessibility enabled. Grrr
So from another post around here I found the solution for me and it's very (stupid) easy..
Under settings -> program management, I had to lock certain apps.
I had almost flashed another rom.
Same problem here with Tasker, Nova Launcher and True Phone accessibility services turning off. My phone has Lollipop and is rooted.
Which apps ?

Download Servicely from GP and keep everything turned on!
Im on Phronesis v6.5 rom 5.1 1 on my note 3.
I got the same issue, after reboot all my accessability permissions for my apps are turned off. Apps that need the accessability are Twilight, switch swiftly and a bunch of others including greenify.
Has anybody found a solution to this issue?
PS somehow Nova Launcher seems to keep its accessability ON through reboots!
Samsung and Huawei
Saw the subject is saying [ROOTED] but posting anyway even if this also applies also to non-rooted devices running the stock versions of Android:
On Samsung Galaxy devices (SG 5 and later), check to see if you have App Battery Optimizer in Samsung Smart Manager app enabled. Please disable this as it is known to disable app Accessibility Services: go to Android Settings > General > Battery > look under App Optimization and select Details. Then find the apps in question and turn them off.
For Huawei phones, go to Settings > Apps > Advanced Options > Ignore Optimations and toggle "allow" for your apps that needs to be allowed accessibility permissions.
It happens to me as well. When I use titanium backup to clear apps cache it will shut off all accessibility apps and you will have to turn them back on. I noticed it happens when I use cool master as well.
Hi, it happens to me with Greenify on a Xiaomi redmi note 3 (marshmallow), the only thing that worked for me was: Settings>apps setting>permissions> autostart, and allowing Greenify. It works, even when i went back to optimization feature and leave Greenify to be optimized as it was.
Hi, I am also nor rooted but thought I would chime in as I am also experiencing this annoying issue with my Huawei Mediapad X2 running EMUI 4.0 Marshmallow Stock. Unfortunately, setting Greenify to ignore battery optimizations does not help. Once apps are killed, their Accessibility setting is turned off automatically - very frustrating. Anyone have any other solutions?
The solution given by elpipo22 works for me in a rather different environment, a xiaomi MI 4 with miui. The autostart option here was in Security app -> permissions -> autostart -> choose the apps which should retain accessibility settings.
Hii,
In my case, oppo f1s, i found out one solution
First of all your device should be rooted, the best
way to do that is through resetting firmware to factory or updating to newer oppo system image, then installing custom recovery BIOS or whatever it's name is,
then rooting under Recovery mode using Magisc...
All this is described in some xda-developers forum topic.
But that is not our issue for now,
To prevent accessibility permission to be revoked
from our service or app, we have to go developper,
by browsing SETTINGS >> DEVICE INFO , then clicking about 8 times or more on BUIL NUMBER... now that we
have become DEVELOPPER for good, we go back and then
we navigate towards SETTINGS >> ADVANCED SETTINGS >> DEVELOPPER SETTINGS... then enable DEVELOPPER OPTIONS, open section RUNNING SERVICES, browse for application named SECURITY CENTER, inside whitch we can see 4 running services, then STOP service named
CONTROL_VERIFY_SERVICE (of course on your own risk)
, that is it, now just go to SETTINGS >> ADVACED SETTINGS >> ACCESSIBILITY and enable accessibility for your application and enjoy it.....
I recently did a factory Reset of my Note 8 SmartPhone and went to install the Asus Zenwatch Manager
It is not in the Google Play Store now!
My HD I had SmartSwitch Back up died so I do noyt have a .apk to re install
Anyone know some place I could download it?
It will work with just Wear OS but with The Zenwatch Manager I can use Asus ZenFit it is not great but it is better than Google fit
Google fit has me at 2800 steps and .75 miles not even close to reality.
I can't find any info as to why. I had to end up downloading it from aptoide (blech).
However, shortly after downloading it from aptiode, I found this thread on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/zenwatch/comments/6on4i7/guys_you_should_disable_zenwatch_manager/
where a bunch of people are reporting a big increase in watch battery life after disabling the app on the watch.
I found this thread when trying to find why the app is removed from Play Store. (I'll update more if I find any useful info)
Possibly related: Play Store is reporting most Asus apps not compatible with my phone. I'm running a custom ROM, Android P, so not sure if Play Store is saying not compatible because of custom ROM or because of Android 9.
The most recent version of Zenwatch Manager on Aptiode is updated 2017; so maybe instead of updating it to be officially Pie compatible, Asus just took it down? IDK.
This is madness, I too just ran across this problem.
Zen manager and face design both are missing
What is going on?
I haven't found any further info on why the app is gone from Play Store, but I have had a DRASTIC increase on watch battery life since I disabled the app on my watch.

Yes I use apk to install it. gone from play store.

Hi all,
Anybody any idea how to install YouTube Vanced on a stock Mi11?
I've installed the manager and microg from apkmirror but can't install YouTube Vanced as still being blocked.
The previous method of disabling miui optimisations from developer options is no longer there.
.... Alternatively any other way to have YouTube with less/no ads?
Any help appreciated

If your shell can be run as root, search for ad and tracking hosts lists on the net and place them inside of your /system/etc/hosts file.
Also, you could use the app "Blockada".
Those methods will block ads and tracking systemwide, however...
Use puretuber

You might need to disable MIUI optimization in the developer options. Always work for me. Also fixes a lot of notification issues.

But the MIUI Optimization is not displayed for everyone. For some people, the entry is not there under developer options (like in my case). If you search under settings, it shows the entry but when you click on the search result, it brings you to the developer options where MIUI optimization is not displayed. Seems to be hidden.
Just wondering why for some users it is there and for others not.

Hm I see. I saw the same kind of behavior on the F2 Pro forums before. My only guess is either the region you set, or the MIUI version (globale, Europe, China).
I bought the Chinese version (with region set to France), and the option is there for me.
But yeah, if you don't have it, you either have to use another app/version of Vanced, or deal with the manual installation that requires a PC, Split APK installer and the Shizuku app (kinda a pain to install a single app, but used to do that since I really wanted it on my F2 pro).

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation. I have the global version and the region is set to Germany. The interesting thing though is that several persons bought over the same shop as I did (was a special offer) and some have MIUI displayed and others (like me) do not have it. Maybe phones coming out of different factories or different production lines may cause this.
For now, I will wait to install Vanced. I hope that MIUI 12.5 fixes those things, if not, then I will go the route via Xiaomi EU ROM.
Hello guys,
I have the mi 11 ultra china rom and i do have the option to disable miui optimizations in developer mode.
The problem is that as soon as i do that the fonts look really big and they don't resolve when tweaking the font size etc.
Do you know what are the downsides of disabling the miui optimizations from the developer mode ?
Mind you the rom is working flawlessly so far , i have all the notifications and functions ok.
Thanks !

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone outside MIUI developers will be able to say in details what MIUI optimization really does. All we have is a "global idea" and guesses from experience.
As you experienced, disabling optimization may affect the way MIUI look, mostly the default launcher and fonts. Your icons may look a bit different as well.
Some people report that disabling optimization improves their battery life, while others say the opposite. Same thing for floating windows: for most people it still work, but a few reported that the feature is no longer working while optimization is turned off.
So disabling it may or may not break MIUI-specific features, it really depends on your device from what we see.
Overall, we can't be sure what it will do on your specific device/version. You'll likely have to test by yourself.
Even though I always disable optimizations when I'm on the official ROM, just know that some developers, specifically the devs at Xiaomi.eu, recommend you to keep it on.
Thanks for the info @Eidenz , will keep it on and monitor closely the battery life as well the behavior of the aps.
So far I'm pretty amazed that everything is working flawlessly.
I'm not sure I want to switch to xiaomi.eu but will see..
As a workaround I'm using blokada with some youtube ads blocking list.
It's mostly ok but I do see the ads at the start and sometimes at the end of the video, but not the ads during the video.
Cheers !

No worries. There are even more workarounds if you're interested:
You can disable MIUI optimization to install Youtube Vanced, and then turn it back on. The app will keep working, the problem is only in the installation process.
You may also install Vanced manually using your PC by following the official tutorial: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vanced/wiki/installation
Or you may use that "Pure Tuber" app that got mentionned at the top of this post. Not as great imo, but does the job.
I found out that once I installed YouTube Vanced and enabled optimizations back, Vanced didn't want to work.
Basically it loaded but was faced with a continuous loading screen on each tab of the application.
Tried pure tuber but from what I saw it does consume a bit more power and also the navigation isn't as good as in YouTube Vanced , plus the video resizing is kinda wonky.
Hm, that's weird. I guess it got worse than it used to be on older MIUI versions (and devices).

I flashed Xiaomi EU rom and I can install YouTube Vanced via Vanced Manager now.
You can also use NewPipe:
NewPipe - a free YouTube client

With my Redmi Note 10 (EU version M2101K7AG) I was able to install YTVanced after disabling the MIUI optimizations. I enabled them right away after installation and until now I haven't noticed any difference.
Then I updated the system to MIUI Global 12.0.3 and lost the possibility of disabling the optimizations in the developer options.
The only issue I notice sometimes is when opening YTVanced it keeps saying there is no internet connection. I have to go to microg settings and disable the battery optimizations for that app.
I hope that MIUI developers fix this soon cause it is so annoying having to research for workarounds just to install an apk. If I knew this before, I think I would have went with a Realmi instead.
So I recently reinstalled Pixel OS (the Android 13 version) after playing around with some new ROMs cause overall it was less buggy, gave great battery life but mainly preferred it for the native App Lock feature. After installing though I found out it was removed from the Android 13 versions and all Google Play alternatives pretty much suck and can be bypassed easily. Does anyone know if there's a way to port native App Lock into a ROM or any good alternatives (I saw maxlock being mentioned but the Github repo has been dead since 2020 and I don't even think it will work with newer android versions)
