I'm interested in the XZ2, but will only pull the trigger if they expand the PS4 promo to the US. Is anyone else in the same boat? Don't know why they'd keep this isolated to the UK, but I've seen weirder things happen..
I'm looking forward to the XZ2 Compact and the PS4/PSVR promotion would be a done deal for me if they expand it to the US. Although I already own a PS4, so I'd be getting the PSVR instead.

Has anyone else heard about or seen this new bluetooth gamepad that was just recently released, the iControlPad? It looks pretty cool... I'm sure it could be easily adjust to fit our HD2's into it. Not sure about compatibility, but I just ordered one to use when playing my PSX and SNES emulators on my HD2. I'll keep you posted on how it works when I get it. I guess you can even charge your phone off the battery in the control pad while you're using it... it's got a battery as big as the HD2.

Does it work well?
oh this would be so bad ass to work with a snes emulator.
Unfortunately, I had placed my order right after they sold out of the 1st batch of 1000, and they had to wait until the 2nd batch of 1000 was produced (which took a few weeks because they made some fixes on 2nd batch), so I'm still waiting for my order to get here. Also I didn't pay extra for fast shipping, so I have regular slow international shipping. It was shipped about 2 weeks ago, so I should be getting my gamepads any day now.
Also, just so you know, they are all caught up on their shipping, so they say any new orders place will get shipped within a couple days, but if you're in the US and you don't pay the extra $25 for faster shipping, it'll take 2-3 weeks to get delivered.
But, I did have them add a 2nd gamepad to my order and it didn't cost anything extra for shipping, so once I get my order in, I'll have an extra gamepad for sale, which I can sell it to someone in the US for a few dollars less than what it would cost to order one directly from company with cheapest shipping, and I can do priority and you'd get it in a few days.
I started a thread about this gamepad here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983160
Once I get my order delivered, I'm going to post pictures of unboxing and do a review of it using it with my HD2... so keep an eye on that thread. It should be coming soon. I'm excited.
And if you're in the US and interested in buying the 2nd gamepad off me, let me know. It would cost someone from the US $100 to order it from the manufacturer with cheapest shipping and it would take 2 or 3 weeks to deliver.... but I will sell my spare gamepad for $95 shipped, and you'll get it in a few days.
Finally got my iControlPads yesterday!!! Very nice feeling... feels solid and well built. The analog controls are awesome... I love the way they did those. I'm going to update firmware and do full review with pictures using it with my HD2... hopefully do it over weekend and post review sun or mon. I'll post here with link to the thread in the General Accessories section where I'm gonna post the review.
It was well work the money and wait for this gamepad.
Whats Good XDA,
I'm in the market for an HDTV and I'd appreciate everyone's input and experience.
This TV is going to be used as a 2nd monitor for my home-theater PC and also for my ps4. I am not interested in WiFi/3D/'Smart Features' as I have a custom desktop to handle all of those things. My budget is around 600-700 dollars.
I was thinking about getting this:

Or something pretty similar to that.
Is there anything becides input lag that I should be concerned about when buying something like this? Does anyone have any inside information on great deals this holiday season?
Cheers

Also considering this, that retailer also has 3.5% sales tax
Does anyone else find it major BS that only s6 edge+ and note 5 customers get access to the free wireless charging pad or flip case?
Idk if its just me, but this really got under my skin. I mean i paid $600 for a Samsung phone too.
I agree mate, I find it annoying too... I was under the impression I bought a flagship device from Samsung this year, but apparently not. It's no way to retain customers, that's for sure.
At any rate, with the lack of support from the financial industry, I wouldn't have been able to claim one regardless. Apparently a confirmed launch partner doesn't mean anything. Maybe Samsung Pay will eventually work with the little guys, like Chase and Capital One...
Well I paid original price of the 128gb model. How do you think I feel? This is why Samsung android phones lose their value and apple tends to keep it.
I feel the same way. Not that I need either giveaway, but why just the other two phones? My first Samsung phone... disappointing.
I emailed Samsung and all I got was a "sorry" and "keep an eye for another promotion on another time for another phone" answer.
how are you guys upset and/or surprised about this? this discussion was had with the 50 dollar off promos of the original S6/edge a few months back.
you bought a flagship device right out of the gate.* ANYONE who doesn't realize "I'm going to pay top dollar and get less than those who wait" needs to get their head checked.
This occurs in any and all fields of revenue but even moreso with technology. When something big and fancy comes out that people want, it costs the absolute most upon initial release. (not only that but itll have the most bugs to work out too) Duh?
then, as the uproar and demand starts to die off, theyll:
A. throw out goodies (50 dollars off, free netflix, stickers even!)
B. Drop the price bit by bit/offer rebates/trade ins as time goes on
C. Create new "versions" of it (the new S6+/Edge+, Note 5, etc) which I'll add we OBVIOUSLY already knew theyd do considering nearly all cellphones do this now.
This is supply and demand, economics, basic business at work. Don't like it? Stop throwing money at them the moment phones come out to be the latest and greatest and wait till the sweet deals start appearing in return for not being brand-****ing-new.
*Also Don't hesitate to the point where whatever phone you get has completely lost its steam and theyre pushing a new device.
Be too early and you pay to be the newest. Be too late and you've missed the bandwagon. Deals appear after the instant-gratification herd has gotten their fix but before they're done milking it.
Again, this happens quite literally with -everything-, ESPECIALLY tech and gadgets.
The Midnight Black OnePlus 5 will be shipped out immediately after you've ordered it.
OnePlus announced at the start of the year that one of its resolutions for 2017 was to tackle shipping delays by making its products available for immediate dispatch, which sees the company shipping a phone mere hours after you've placed the order.
Just got one today
I don't mean to be rude, but this isnt really a forum contribution since every oneplus owner got this email.

This is good information for non Oneplus owners though. First time OnePlus prospective purchasers may not have signed up for an account yet.
Sounds like they are having a hard time moving units after jello effect so they are sending emails to people trying to get them to buy. If anyone wants to buy one they can see on the site themselves that they are available if they had interest to buy one.

Well if you come to xda and have interest in buying one I'm sure you would put in an order already or be checking the website to see when it becomes available immediately. If you wanted one it makes 0 sense to wait for one to be available immediately on the site to buy though.
I have seen many Iphone users shifting to OnePlus as well many a more samsung and other android brand users now only going for OnePlus.
Matter of fact is I have been thinking from quite a long time now, when OnePlus's parent brand OPPO is aggressively doing marketing campaigns all over Pakistan and operating then why haven't OnePlus officially launched here ...
We, the OP fans, still either wish that someone from abroad comes so that we request to bring OP for us or we buy a 2nd hand used OP from anyone who came from abroad or some of us like me get the phone from a local Online shopping website of which they charge comparitively very high price.
OP should be officially launched in Pakistan as well.
I am still hoping for someone coming from US to get me my OP5T if anyone here could help me in this please do let me know
I was watching OP5T live event in which they said when first launched the OnePlus One and it became successful, websites and people started selling OP on a very high price so then they adopted this mechanism to sell the phone globally from their own website.
I would like to bring this information to OnePlus officials that this is still happening here in Pakistan and yes we the users are suffering, websites and people are offering OP5T in PKR 65000/- which is around USD 625.

I suggest you write this to the OnePlus Feedback and not XDA.
