Sprint Note 8 on T-Mobile - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Can I flash a T-Mobile Rom to my Sprint Note 8 with Odin? I currently have it unlocked and working on T-Mobile but it keeps trying to configure the network which is draining my battery. It also doesn't get VoLTE.
Anyone have experience doing this? If I can't do a T-Mobile ROM, can I flash an unlocked ROM to get it to stop the network configuration and get VoLTE back?
Thanks in advance!

cj.lyon21 I'm in the exact same situation, and I'm wondering what you decided and how it worked out? Did you flash T-mobile, or did you flash Unlocked on your Sprint phone. Thanks!! Hope to avoid pitfalls.

Check out the carrier switching threads. Not only is there a detailed step by step guide on how to accomplish this, but people also talk about how it worked. HINT: If you flash the TMo formware, it will be exactly like buying a TMo branded Note 8.
And speaking as someone with T-Mobile, there's really not much difference between the T-Mo firmware and the unlocked U1 firmware. TMo doesn't really add much bloat. Just the TMo boot animation and some apps you can uninstall. You gain RCS calls with TMo, but lose the U1 spam filter. WiFi calling and VoLTE still work with the U1 firmware.

For att users or tmobile: using an att sims 'Tmobile Update'

So I currently have an att sims card in my device. And I'm noticing a ' T-Mobile update service Update postoned' message. Is it safe to take the update even though I'm using att with this device?
anyone's input how this may affect an at&t user appreciated.

I don't think it should be any problem to update the phone with the att SIM on... at least in theory. I unlocked my T-Mobile Note 4 and it's working flawlessly on att at full LTE speeds, minus Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE of course, but I don't really care for those features on AT&T.

I'm going to root/custom recovery later anyways so I'd probably over write it with a custom rom. Probably doesnt pay to update.

It will update your baseband (modem) and a few other things that are inaccessible to the user, so yes, update it. In fact, the update does update the modem to version NJ7 (you're probably on NIH).

I am on N910TUVU1ANIH, So updating the baseband is needed to be compatible with custom roms? I'm just worried about bonking my signal since its not a tmobile sims.

with no problems using the t mobile one with an att sim, have been connected to 4G LTE all day.

Android 6.0 Galaxy S6 SM-G920T

hey!
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 SM.G920T on Best Buy a couple of months ago and i have it with an argentinian SIM.
i want to update the Software to 6.0 and i saw in Sammobile a 6.0 version. Here comes the problem, my firmare (G920TUEU3COK1) is from "cellular south" carrier and this version ( G920TUVU3EPD1) is from "USA/T-Mobile". I want to know if i install that firmware i can still use my argentinian sim? or i only can use the "cellular south" version?
My english is not perfect sorry
Thank you
Yes. Mine is from cellular south as well. You can flash it with t-mobile mm. and then flash this modem dropbox.com/s/fpkeyps54bzy2l6/modem.bin?dl=0 you should be able to use any carrier
here is the guide reddit.com/r/GalaxyS6/comments/4eazdg/nont_mobile_smg920t_need_some_insight/ follow this and you should be fine. good luck

We will need eng kernel before that happens. I'm sure it will be doable in the future, not now though.
Edit.....looks like note 8 could be different than the s8...

So if I flash AT&T firmware on Tmobile Note 8, it should work fine on AT&T since there's no Tmobile Unlock App in it? Right?
Just bought a Tmobile Note 8 and am trying to make it run on AT&T

Yes...if you look into the s8+ forum for carrier switch there is a guide that should also work for note 8...the main focus is to change the csc...however, you may just be able to flash the ATT firmware and it work when you put in the ATT SIM. It may be better to flash the unlocked firmware first...and then to att...but to get the device to be csc ATT, instead of ATT, ATT, TMB, You may have to follow the S8+ guide...
So try the easiest first, flash ATT...If activation does not work, flash Unlocked then ATT, if that is no good...follow the S8+ guide with Canadian firmware to change csc code of device to ATT...you might pm the op of the S8+ guide about what Canadian firmware to flash to change the csc...I am going to make a guide for us when I have a chance to test it myself...if just flashing to AT&T works...awesome, good luck
Oh yeah...the device must be unlocked first to change carriers...you can get it unlocked by T mobile or by paying for it

Guides on changing CSC on N960U?

Basically as the title suggest, I'm looking for guide on changing the CSC on my 960U VZW variant. There was one for my 950U and I was wondering if it would essentially be the same process?
What are you wanting to change it to?

Are you just trying to get the unlocked firmware? So you don't have the Verizon bloat?

Trying to get to the 960U leaks without the bloat. Currently enrolled in U1 beta program but I need WiFi calling

Well unfortunately it's not possible with Verizon. If you're on the U1 firmware, then you have bloatfree firmware. Plus as you said you can stay on the official beta. If you need WiFi calling, you'll have to install the carrier firmware and flash the leaked builds. But of course that brings the bloatware. You can uninstall or disable a of it, but you'll be left with the Verizon boot animation.

Understood may not be all that bad to just stay on U1, especially being that WiFi calling would be my only benefit, other than being flash happy with leaked builds lol. Thanks boss

Check this out and although person asked to flash T-Mo firmware onto an unlocked model, but yours would be the opposite - same instructions pretty much except you need the firmware of your choice
