TWRP wont flash for nougat or oreo (SOLVED) - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

So I've been having lots of problems, it all started trying to upgrade to oreo from nougat and I got stuck part way with trying to install recoveries and missing the _ramdisk part. So then I think I was stuck somewhere in-between nougat and oreo and @Jannomag has been a huge help trying to push the device towards Oreo. You can see the thread where that begun here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p1...-partition-length-t3766191/page2#post75966617) and Jannomag's guide here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75760807).
After that as going to oreo wasn't working I looked into maybe trying to roll back to nougat as TWRP 3.2.1 was working. I have followed this guide as best I could (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/guide-to-rollback-huawei-p10-oreo-to-t3735156) and got to the end where you install the update let the phone reboot to huawei recovery to install the update. However the update got to 6% in verifying update and failed. At this point I tried to reflash twrp from fastboot. That seemed to flash fine however when I reboot the phone to recovery (vol-Up + pwr) it boots to the huawei recovery menu with reboot/wipe data/wipe cache options. I have tried flashing both twrp 3.2.1 3.1.1 and 3.0.1 and even reflashing the stock recovery before these from the file linked in the rollback guide that HWOTA8 uses (MHA_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img)
Any ideas for fixes this are appreciated,
Thanks
Edit: Solved using DC-phoenix

[NO OS] Clean install / TWRP error 7, Unlocked BL

Hello there everyone!
Just recently i bought a new OnePlus 3t, which i really like and having some experience from my previous phone (Sony Xperia Z2) i decided to mess around with it. I started by installing the necessary drivers on my computer, i downloaded ADB, TWRP 3.0.3.0, OnePlus Toolkit, STOCK firmware 3.5.3 & 3.5.4 & 4.0.1 as well as stock recovery and proceeded to unlock my bootloader then flash TWRP and SuperSU. Everything was working completely fine, until i did a wipe (system, data, cache) in order to try out Nougat. When i tried to install Nougat 4.0.1. via TWRP/adb sideload the installation would always stop at around 5% with the Error "* Failed to read command: Invalid Argument." in the cmd and "Updater process ended with signal:7" in TWRP. I also tried to install a zip with the firmware, but that would only result in the phone hanging requiring a hard reset. I also tried installing 3.5.3 & 3.5.4 & CM13 which would result in the same error. So currently i have access to recovery (stock and twrp) and fastboot but no OS. Did a lot of google searches but with no results.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Did you try this one?.....

If you can access TWRP sideload try to install full rom. Go to mount, mount usb and transfer rom over to internal storage. I suggest try 3.5.4 with 3.0.2.0 official TWRP and Blu stark version or the beta 8 to install 4.0.1.

How to flash rollback through fastboot

EDIT: Hey guys, so since the previous post I have tried numerous things - most notably manually flashing the system, boot and recovery images directly with fastboot. While I was able to do this (using B361 and currently B320) the phone got stuck in a bootloop even though the official recovery successfully did a factory reset and cache wipe. I am fairly certain that if I can get the rollback image to flash I will be able to revert back to stock - but currently this is proving to be difficult. Flashing the rollback image directly with dload fails and I'm currently considering flashing the image through fastboot. Checking the image on firmware extractor tool shows the following:
CRC
CURVER
EFI
RECOVERY
RECOVERY2
VERLIST
VERSION
What extracted image will I be able to flash through fastboot? Thanks for any help in advance
Hey guys,
Firstly I have read through and tried all the usual methods of trying to get back to stock (MM or Nougat) after upgrading to B361. I am currently unable to flash any images through the dload method (not rollback, not nougat, anything). What I've tried flashing (all failed):
L19C185B361 (full)
L19C185B220 (full)
L19C185B210 (full)
L19C185B320 (OTA)
Official rollback image
This is the path I followed:
L19C185B210
MM LOS
L19C185B220
L19C185B320
L19C185B361
(Tried to reflash L19C185B361, failed)
Rollback, failed
TWRP L19C185B220, messed up system partition
Rollback still failed
L19C185B220 still failed
L19C185B361 still failed
Currently running a TWRP flash of L19C185B321, a beta leak image that doesn't work properly
The TWRP running is the Nougat TWRP (MM TWRP not working) leading me to be believe that there is still an official Nougat presence somewhere on the system. I hace an unlocked bootloader, fastboot and adb access but no root. Any help will be greatly appreciated as I've been struggling for over 10 hours now.

No sim card after twrp restore

I have a oneplus 3t and am on OOS 4.0.3 and decided to upgrade to OOS 5.0. I downloaded the ROM, took a backup and then clean wiped my phone. Then I tried installing the ROM but it failed. So I decided to restore my backup from USB OTG. While restore failed and it showed error 255 while restoring data, so I wiped again and then restored everything except data. The phone rebooted and everything is fine except the phone is not detecting my sim card. I have tried restoring again and rebooting but it didn't work. I am using twrp 3.1.1
Please give a solution or tell me which ROM version to flash to solve this problem.
Just follow this guide to get back to factory default. And then try OTA update with the default recovery instead of TWRP.

You need a special TWRP in order to upgrade to Android Oreo. Just google for Oneplus3 Oreo TWRP and theres a OnePlus-Forum Thread where you can download the TWRP that is needed for the Oreo Upgrade. Your Backup should work without Problems after you installed Oreo
just install bluSpark TWRP v8.61 from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=27655
and download official 5.0.1 ROM zip file from oneplus official site.
then you can proceed. You can use Magisk 15.3 after ROM installation for root access.
Make sure to reboot TWRP once after wiping everything from TWRP otherwise you may lose TWRP where stock recovery may take place.

Stuck on boot loop after installing official Oxygen OS Pie Community build

I was running a custom ROM (Skydragon) earlier. I simply booted into TWRP, did the basic wipe then flashed the official zip file. Then after booting, its stuck on the boot animation for more than 20 minutes now. Any ideas how to resolve this?
I too faced the same issue. formating the data partition and flashing community beta build booted successfully for me. before you do this, completely back your phone contents to pc
You must flash with TWRP 3.2.3.0 or older!
i had the same issue. formated data had 3.3.0 twrp but still bootloop so i used unbrick tool to put my phone back to stock and then updated to last build though stock recovery and then unlocked bootloader, installed twrp, magisk and done.

can't flash TWRP 3.3.1 - 3.0.2 works just fine

I'm having difficulty getting TWRP 3.3 working on my z3c. I'm not new to the process, and have done it a few times on a few phones. Right now my z3c has TWRP 3.0.2-1-z3c. I'm wanting to try the new Android 10 ROM that came out, but it requires TWRP 3.3 to work. So I got the TWRP provided in the thread. I'm flashing from Linux, so I did run
Code:
./fastboot flash recovery twrp 3.3.1-1-A10.0-z3c.img
When I reboot and hold the power down button it skips over TWRP and just boots the ROM I have installed.
Okay, so I downgrade to TWRP 3.0.2-1 and reboot...hold volume down...TWRP boots just fine.
Flash TWRP 3.3 again....no joy. It just boots straight to ROM.

Same. Couldnt find a proper answer to this. Still have trouble with this? I'm on CR6.1, that's android 8.1 and I'd like to try later versions (lineage os or maybe CR7.0)

Screwed badly with the systems to the point where I softbricked the phone, and had to revert to stock. Will try going straight to 3.3.1 instead now.
Edit: I used adb to go to fastboot (adb reboot bootloader), from there I tried all the different twrp images I have, including latest Android 10 one using the fastboot boot image.img (replace image by name of image, I name them A8, A9, A10 to match android version).
All of them booted, which means I can flash them without issues. I don't know which version I want to install though for now, and I don't want to be stuck again on a version that I won't be able to upgrade later on... so will probably go straight to A10 and Lineage 17 even if it's quite buggy.
