What data files do you mean?
Take a look at my HWOTA alternative.
May you try this.
HWOTA and "my" script are working, when the user did everything right. So try my script and tell me, what isn't working.
manual upgrade

Okay, I think there was a problem with my tutorial - I wrote "upgrade" not "oreoupgrade" when I mentioned the folder on the sd card. Rename the "upgrade" directory to "oreoupgrade" and you should be good.
REALLY IN NEED FOR HELP:crying:
Followed this guide youtube.com/watch?v=2tAeNZdTyeY to install Resurrection Remix on my P9 EVA-L19. After booting the phone, it is just stuck on the boot animation. I panicked and restored to the stock rom. After booting the device, it gets stuck at the "unlocked bootloader" screen.
So I tried to restore the rom through the eRecovery process but gave me an error.
So then I tried the dload process where I copy the UPDATE.APP to my SD card(FAT32) and failed. it stopped at 5% and said "Software install failed!"
I really don't know what to do next.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

There is a RR thread for P9, I'd suggesr to ask there about the RR installation and issues (these topics opened under Q&A practically nobody reads, specially not those few who know more about RR)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-t3767344
For safe reverting back to stock you should have used HWOTA method (maybe it will still work if your Bootloader is unlocked and/or you have TWRP for EMUI 5.x)

I don't know if that is possible, I know it's too late now but whenever I'm going to play with ROMs or so, I save screenshots of my Settings/About and all things like that (IMEI, etc), just in case (like this case).
Maybe you can figure out by:
- was it International cust c432, Mideast c185, or provided by some operator, see
https://www.huaweiblog.de/firmware-update-was-bedeutet-cust-emui-und-co/
- have you debranded the phone
- btw, before installing RR did you check if RR is compatible to install over your (at that time) stock ROM
- Have you installed a firmware from FirmwareFinder, by DLOAD, HWOTA or other methods
Eg, if it was c432 and if you did not manually update, it was likely b393 as the last approved build for L19

I fixed the phone! I used the link u shared about the HWOTA and followed the steps. I did a lot of research about the model number and the cust and found out on the Huawei site that my phone is the EVA-19C185. So I installed the update and it worked! Thank you so much for your help. Really appreciate it.

Hi There, i followed the same link and instructions, i was in RR 7.1.2 and didnt rember witch version i had before updating to it. i've downloaded the eva-l09 c342 b394 (wich seemed to me similir or identical by memory) i'v done the folder in the correct way. lauched trwp installed the script, it opened what it was suposed to but as soon i got to 57% the phone rebooted.. and now doesnt go beyond a dark screen after the logo. i'm able to open the erecovery and fastboot mode . what do i have to do now? install trp? bootloader its stil unlocked.
Hi all, I'm at my wit's end and would really appreciate any advice.
So I have the p20 pro variant in the title, it's still on EMUI 8.1 and has a lot of bugs. Hicare can't find an update, neither can hisuite.
I tried FF and downloaded a Full-OTA update that was approved for my IMEI. I tried flashing it via Dload method but it reboots to the recovery and says software update failed.
Using the erecovery method with DNS change also does not work as it has some error parsing the update.
The phone works fine otherwise but all these small software niggles are getting to me.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to update this phone to EMUI 9.1? It is not bootloader unlocked.
Thank you for reading this far.
Have you already tried the modified version of hisuite?

I have not! Looks like my googlefu is weaker than I thought. Looking into it now and will report back if it works.
So I tried the modified HiSuite method with HStool but I get the error "Your device is not supported". I don't really know where to go from here.
Hi guys, I used to have a p8 Lite 2017 and when the Oreo update came out only for the ALE-00X Honor models i rebranded my PRA-LX1, changing the OEMInfo and it booted like an Honor, so I put the Oreo update on it. Then I gave to my sister who used it for an year and now she asked me to update it. I tried installing several Pie/Oreo Treble roms however everything I try to install brings me to a continuous bootloop, even if I followed the instructions perfectly. Is it because of the rebranding I did time I go? How can I make it go back to its original stock state? I really need help in fixing this phone and any help would be gladly appreciated.
Please can someone help me? I don't know where to start to fix that bootloop..

in brief, there is a options download stock firmware in erecovery by WiFi. Try, I always recover my huawei like this.
Or search about dload flashing method.
Good luck.

have you unbricked? can you help me ? i also have bricken phone
I considered myself to be noob here . It's my fault not to did a lot of research as possible before I proceed my upgrade since I wanted my Huawei Mate 20 Pro (LYA-AL00) (chinese version with no finger print) to run Android 10 instead of 9 (Which I didn't know what version I was using but I believe it was the latest of Android 9 for Mate 20 Pro). What I did was following this guide >
https://ministryofsolutions.com/202...-emui10-android-10-stock-firmware-update.html
everything described in the above link seems legit so I immediately follow step by step and download the stock firmware almost 5 hours. After using OTA with dload I saw the screen install the firmware successfully. However, after few minute the phone boot up and it showed "your device has loaded a different operating system". In such case, I couldn't do anything with erecovery or even using the hstool here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/how-to/manual-upgrading-mate-20-pro-bl-locked-t3905924
by using the method above, i stuck at (install recovery or install system) where my phone screen show circle with 5% processing, then hi suite say failed recovery. In such case, I believed I might install the wrong firmware which isn't allow for my phone? If it is wrong why the phone allow to install the firmware via dload? If not compatible or wrong should not let user process the work.
Right now I stuck at (Your device is loaded a different operating system) and nothing I can do in erecovery including using wifi to update. Can anyone help? Thank you
Sorry for my bad english.
NEED HELP !!!! same problem on lya l09
i used hisuite to update my mate 20 pro LYA L09 to emui 10 ( the official way ) after the update was installed my phone was stuck in this black screen " your device has loaded a different operating software " . i tried using erecovery " get package info failed"
OTG DLoad package method, if works you will be fine. If not, try DC phoenix with a Dload package. Last time I experienced same thing. Then DC phoenix helps.
