[Q] Samsung Caliber?

Hey guys and gals,
I used to frequent these forums years ago when I had my T-Mobile Wing (HTC Atlas). Now I find myself with a dumb smart phone via the Samsung Caliber, and am wondering if anyone has found a place even half as good as xda for that phone.

Agree with you 100%. I've rooted all my friends phones and I now have one with this peice of... well, anyways, I want to do the same kindness I've done for everyone else and putting some android (1.5 even) on this phone.
I'll try to look into what I can see in the SDK and poke around a little bit with ABD but... I know nothing google doesn't tell me ╡.
Good luck whoever can do this, or whoever can tell me what I'm doing wrong later on!
Edit: I just looked at the date and realised this is pretty old. Sorry for the bump, but this is an issue with me, little lonely guy over here and was looking through here and google how to do this. Got lead here... Anyways, long story short;irrelevent link.

[Q] Need some help on updating this stupid phone UGH!

I got an HTC Vivid today, After spending an awful amount of time looking this thing up and o.s. and yadda yadda to make sure there are updates to get it up on ICS. I need something to run 4.0. and this is driving me NUTS! I get the phone booted up and check for an update. Said error, not unusual for where I live SO.. I turned to HTC. Downloaded the HTC Sync, will not even register my phone. Phone can not locate it either. I talked to HTC, finally got fed up with them as I guess they did not understand I just needed my phone updated. After HTC, I called ATT tech support. After wasting 45 mins of my time they tell me to go to a store. So, I go to the store. Mind you our car blew a rotor yesterday and this ATT is out of town. We get there, they tell me they cant help me because the update needs to be done over wifi and this certain ATT does not have wifi. Great! then i proceed to show them the error message. They tell me it's some kind of software malfunction. Well, now I'm back home beyond frustrated and asking for some help here seeing as this wasnt as easy as I had hoped it would be.
I know the general idea of all this but I have never done anything with a phone yet so if someone can help here, BABY STEPS LOL! Talk to me like im 10 I dont care Just want to get this done so I can go about doing the things I need to, whole reason I bought the phone. Thank you in advanced!

This is what I did, it forced my Vivid to download the update
Easy peasy:
Open the dialer and dial: *#*#682#*#* and hit send. Might have to do it a few times, took me 2 times but it worked for me an my phone is running 4.0.3 now HTC sense version: 3.6
Hope that can help someone else down the road if need be!
I was personally ready to kill my phone though as I only had a few hours lol
I wasn't attached to it yet. So make sure if you try it, you are ready for the possibility it wont work.

So I finally got my wifes s5... Surprisingly shes took my advice, for once in the world and never updated so its still on of3. where do i go to root an possibly twrp?
I got a lg g4 sprint thats rooted only no recovery so im used to it if twrp isnt possible.
sorry if its been asked a million times just litreally got it and just starting to read thngs so im sure ill eventually come across it but hopin someone could give me a good starting point.

well like i said id come accross in this case nothing lol no root as of now oh well still got my g4 and a s5 for massive testing porpouses

Urgent need to update to 8.1

Hi guys. Been a while. So, the government here has come out with a vaccine passport which will be needed to do just about anything. Therefore, I will need to upgrade the wife's S5 to 8.1, from 6.1.
Now, I see a bunch of things online obviously, but as I recall this place here was/is the holy grail for cell phones. Just hoping to not have to buy a new phone as our pensions don't leave all that much wiggle room.
Just need to be pointed in the right direction is all.

Do you have TWRP flashed to the s5?
There aren't really any maintained roms if any now a days for the S5 but if you want the newest version look into Mokee that's 9.0 and still gets updates here and there from memory
What's the model of the s5?

long time lurker, first time poster. Hi everyone

so the whole entire length of me having some sort of device, ive yet to have a device that I can root successfully. I seem to always be having the phone or device that hasnt been worked out yet. so after a long stint away I have come back to try and bring back this LG Stylo 5 to life again. I currently have a broken Stylo 6 which is on its way out so Im desperately trying to get the 5 working before it no longer works.
I also have a 4th gen ipad icloud locked that Im trying to figure out also. its been a couple years since I really dove into trying to figure out if the stylo 5 bootloader can be unlocked, and to my surprise it seems like there is more info pertaining to it than before!
I wanted to officially ask though, HAS ANYONE COME ACROSS A WAY TO BYPASS FRP on an LG STYLO 5 (LMQ720)
