Interactive Governor Tweaks? - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

I recently flashed Hyperplus Kernel on my P10 oreo as I wanted to maximize the phone's battery potential. I'm not so sure what to tweak on the governor's setting on the Mtweaks app. Would really appreciate if anyone could advise or share their settings for big and little cluster.. I saw some of them are getting 7+ hours of SOT. I would be freaking happy just to reach 7 hours lol.

[Q] Battery life approximations / extension suggestions on custom kernels

Hi all.
I would like to ask whether someone can point me to any approximations on how battery drains on custom kernels (thus probably utilizing under/over-clock) compared to stock kernel battery drain? The point of my question is, what is better - custom or stock - for battery life and to what extent / in what usage scenarios it is better.
Also I'd be glad if anyone can share some efficient SetCPU profiles (combinations of min/max freq, governor, i/o scheduler)
In my case I'm using XzKernel 23 and I'll be glad to share details of my battery draining details and my suggested SetCPU profiles if anyone wants it for comparison with his own.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Kindest regards

On the hunt for the best CM12.1 battery life

Hey guys!
What can we do to maximize our battery life on CM12.1? From what I've read, there isn't a non-xposed equivalent to amplify or greenify. I'm running the most up to date kernel from baybutcher. If we can put together a few good strategies, maybe we can put together a small guide to help everyone in the community improve their Turbo experience. I haven't tested anything yet, as I thought I would get input from you guys
Things I've considered:
Undervolt?
Non-xposed wakelock handler?
Job scheduler? (Macro-droid, Tasker, Llama)

Advanced interactive governor tweaks for sprout4/8

I've been trying to achieve the best battery life without sacrificing performance on my Spice Dream Uno A-1 phone. After trying many custom kernels and ROMs I've developed a sweat spot for Zeus Kernel by Swapnil Solanki. As it provides many governors plus I/O schedulers with dt2w.
After using many CPU governors and apps like Amplify and Greenify. I found out this guide on xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guide-advanced-interactive-governor-t3269557. Explaining advanced tweaking interactive governor.
Default settings of interactive governor used to spike up my phone's CPU to Max freq. I also tried using Monarch kernel with min clock speed of 200 mhz. But it was laggy.
Here are my (sprout4) settings with interactive governor (Zeus Kernel and RR build):
Go to 'CPU governor tunables'
1. above_hispeed_delay:
10000 747000:60000 1040000:20000
2. target loads:
98 747000:35 1040000:60 1300000:90
3. timer_rate:
25000
These settings will get you amazing CPU performance with max battery life possible.
You can also turn on 'Thunderplug' from kernel settings. I personally use it with 35% load threshold. I'm Getting best battery ever. What about you ?
Try and tell me.
@sumeet240
What do you mean by best battery? Atleast provide screenshot and tell Screen On time.
And BTW this should be in general thread
I'll post screen shots tomorrow I'm away from charger. Sorry for posting this here. You should try tweaking it; it'll take 15 min maximum.

BTW on what brightness should i test my battery life. I generally keep brightness on medium (no auto). I think I'll be able to get three and half hour SOT (3G usage Twitter+Movie) on brightness set to almost center of the slider. Using resurrection remix latest nightly.
5-5.5 hours on decent brightness; 3G usage

First of all you should learn not to post discussion threads in Android One Original Development forum. This post belongs to general forum.
If you don't understand what i am saying refer to forum rules first. Just wait it will be posted on where it belongs.
I apologize.

I don't know if this will work for you. But you should not be using dark theme for better battery life. Dark theme needs more brightness than white ones. And LCD displays are always backlit.

I too thought dark means less bright screen and hence more battery
I'm getting worse battery life after a year of usage. What can we expect from a 1700mah device. 4 hrs+ is still good though

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the LeEco Le Pro3 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
With heavy gaming you get around 4 hours SOT with custom ROM. Stock ROM get 5 hours SOT

Never noticed this sub-section haha. This is from stock, about 6 months ago. I only charge up to 60% now, so I don't have any recent screenshots that start near 90-100.
Stock based rom. Almost 2 days unpluged, mainly light usage, some gps and camera. Cannot even come close to this on any cm or aosp based rom.
Stock rom 23S 2 days or more with light to medium usage no games just internet, socials app, youtube etc. I have few phones the Pro 3 is the fastest for day to day use, loading apps quickly I got the 6Gb ram/64Gb rom version.
Omni 20170820. I get about 9+ hours of SOT with using GhostPepper governor. About 60 ~ 75 min. for 10% of battery and idle drain eating the rest.

He said as his first word: Omni ROM.. Search here in the XDA.. Maybe they tell you about this governor.. I will search

Do you have stock kernel or another one?
Do you have any visible bug like battery stats and others?
You people have to remember that there's TWO versions of Le Pro 3.. one with 4gb ram... other 6gb ram... there's a HUGE gap between those two models regarding battery life IMHO...

Like what? 2gb extra brings more battery life, because it keeps more app in the background?

Unlike.. 2gb more ram hogs more battery as it asks the CPU more things to do and stuff (I'm not the guy to explain it hahah).. but do you think a (supposed) 16gb ram mobile can't hog more battery? Think about that

If you want great battery life buy phone with Snapdragon 625, every day use is plenty fast, fine, simlar to Sd820/821. Xiaomi phone is ok they have few with Sd625.

This "HUGE" gap is theoretically 5% mentiond by Qualcomm itself if you cmp the sd820 with the 821.. That isn't huge but still 0.5/10th of the battery life, depending on how well the rom has been ported and optimized.
For the stock rom, it will probably last. But if you don't like the iOS clone design of android that runs on it well, a custom rom isn't going to beat it anytime soon unfortunately..
Omnirom 20171018 + Black Screen Kernel v3.6.1 + Ex Kernel Manager (alucard governor, I/O is noop, perfd is disabled)
No gaming, but plently social media apps, internet, wifi etc.
It is between 8 to 9.5 hours up to the usage. Your usages may varry though.

GhostPepper 2.0 as Advanced Governor Profile. There are better battery saving profiles but I find GP2.0 to be the smoothest while proving excellent battery life.
Autostarts to unlink unnecessary event trigger.
Greenify to force certain misbehaving apps to sleep instead of sucking up battery background.
Forcedoze to further force doze but I am not sure if it is useful at this point. I am considering to uninstall it.
Underclock to 1516 and 1900mhz. I do not use heavy apps so it works for me.
I also use battery in 40 ~ 80% range so after a full year of use, my battery is in good shape. I only charge up to 90~100% when I'm traveling.

Stock Omni kernel. I've been on 0820 build/kernel as versions after it gave me worse battery life. Then I recently updated rom to the latest one due to KRACK. I noticed that the kernel is still draining more battery so I flashed 0820 kernel.
Now, my understanding is that battery drain is function of kernel, not rom. But with latest rom and 0820 kernel setting, I am seeing significantly higher battery usage. It could be some other factor so I am in test mode now.
Battery stats bug? Big core battery stats in EX Kernel Manager. Never had that issue on 0820 but with latest version, I do see it.

I gave Black Screen Kernel and Alucard governor a try after reading your post. Though it is too early to draw a call, it seems to be slightly better than GhostPepper tweak. It is very very good.
Ive Got LineageOS 14.1 and latest BlackScreen, but my SOT is between 5-5.30h :[
Im using ondemand cpu governor on big cores and schetudil on small ones.
GPU governor is simple_ondemand, I/O is set as Noop, there is also low memory killer set as agressive.
Im also using Greenify (without shallow Hibernation).
Im thinking that Its not good score for my settings. What should, i change?
Thanks!
I reached 9 hours sot without akt or anything else. Just the banggood's 20s rom. I am pretty impressed.
I have the elite x722. Sorry.
Don't normally go past 7 hours , system service always seems to drain my battery

LKT (Legendary kernel Tweaks) users, what is your experience running it?

So, I still have 4 more days of waiting to be able to unlock my kernel and start this custom ROMs journey.
Has anyone use LKT in the Mi9 already? What do you think about it, did it create noticeable lags, did it increase your battery life drastically?
FDE.AI.... LKT.
All placebo.... IMO

Well FDE.AI actually helped with the usage and performance of an old Redmi 3S, and I sense a little bit less battery consumption using LKT on battery mode on my MI9, specially on wakelocks so.. Who knows?
I've try FDE and my antutu score has been increased to 410k (antutu doesn't really mater)
In real usage SOT is slightly better but i don't know if it's FDE or the new update which increase it.
