debloated fire 7 cannot install Amazon-apps anymore - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a 7th generation Fire 7 that I downgraded to 5.4.0 and debloated following the method in another tread (bascically running "adb uninstall -k" over the packages) and put Google Playstore on it.
In this process I lost (of course) the Amazon Prime Video Player which I thought I could simply reinstall via the Playstore.
But alas, not so.
It seems I cannot install any Amazon-Apps anmore. I cannot install the Prime Video Player, the shopping app, nor the Amazon Appstore itself.
The error I get is "App not installed", I assume this is because debloating via "uninstall -k" leaves the data-directories around that that probably prevents a new install.
Is there anything I can do now to somehow get the Prime Video player back, apart from doing a factory-reset and starting afresh?
Many thanks!

Factory reset is the only way. You cannot reactivate these disabled apps, and you cannot install an app that has the same package name as a deactivated one.

Regarding Android Transformation Guide for Kindle Fire 2

I've followed the guide in this link to a tee: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051270&page=8
However, at the end, I am unable to run Google Chrome; I receive the error message:
"Critical functionality required to run Chrome is missing; either your Chrome installation is incomplete, or not compatible with this version of Android."
I figure the problem might've been in installating the Google Framework, but I am unsure as this is my first tablet.
In addition, I attemped to install Firefox from the Play Store. It installed correctly, however, it closes within seconds of opening the application.
thanks

I followed the same guide and had the same issue. I fixed it by reinstalling chrome. Went back into system/apps and clicked on the chrome apk, installed it, no issues since.

[Q] Help with ADB uninstall

After returning 4 HDs that developed charging and other problems following the setting of the "allow unknown sources" flag, we decided not to tempt fate with the 5th Nook HD and then I discovered that apks can be installed via ADB, bypassing the Android setting. There is a drawback, of course--the apps cannot self-update.
I did this with a copy of an apk that's no longer available in the PlayStore and which I had already installed on my NT/CM10. What I forgot was that this package came with an Aptoide Store app attached. The desired app installed on the Nook HD and runs fine, but we now get periodic random messages like "this app cannot be installed" blah, blah, blah. I'm assuming this is because the Aptoide store is trying to install itself, but of course is blocked by the Android setting that won't allow unknown sources.
My question: where do you suppose this uninstalled package is hiding? If I try to use the ADB uninstall command as if it were already installed, will that expunge it?

Have 5.1.3, should I upgrade to 5.3.1 or downgrade to 5.1.2? [SOLVED]

Just got a Fire 7" 2015 with 5.1.3 on it. Most of the guides say to downgrade to 5.1.2, but it looks like 5.3.1 is also rootable (it came out after the 5.1.3 guides were written, so I presume that's why they all say 5.1.2). In my non-informed mind, it seems like it would be better to upgrade my tablet to 5.3.1 (sideloading I presume? still getting a grasp on how all this works), and have a later version of firmware with its improvements, rather than using the much older 5.1.2.
Am I correct in this reasoning? Is there any compelling reason to select one firmware over the other? Before installing 5.3.1 I want to make sure I'm not making an irreversible mistake. Thanks!
EDIT TO ADD: Question resolved, I updated to 5.3.1 and successfully rooted. Details of my experience in a below comment.

Rob, since I never got a response I decided to live dangerously, went ahead and did the upgrade to 5.3.1. It worked great after some fiddling. A summary of my experience in case it helps you or others...apologies that I can't post external links since this is a new account, apparently the forum won't let me do that until I make 10 posts.
First, I installed 5.3.1 using my PC:
* Power on Kindle, do NOT enable wifi or it'll do autoupdate. Exit out of setup.
* Downloaded 5.3.1 update (*.bin filetype) to computer.
* Followed Amazon instructions for manual software updates (google for "Download and Install Fire Tablet Software Updates Manually"). (short summary: Plugged Kindle into PC (Windows 7), which mounted like a flashdrive. Dragged & dropped the update BIN file to Internal Storage folder. Initiated update from Fire -> Settings -> Device -> System Updates.)
After 5.3.1 was installed, I rooted it using the Fire 5th gen RootJunky SuperTool. Had a few quirks with this, don't know if it was because of Fire OS version, my PC OS, or just wonkiness. SuperTool officially supports 5.3.1 but who knows. Notes on my workarounds:
* Installing ADB drivers didn't work through SuperTool, so I downloaded and installed them directly from Amazon (google for "Connecting Your Fire Tablet for Testing". You don't need a special hacked version, ADB just lets your computer communicate with Kindle as if you were a developer.
* You will need to enable wifi for KingRoot to work (it connects to internet to download latest information on how to root). However, the version of KingRoot that SuperTool installed didn't work even after running 6+ times. I used Silk browser to go directly to KingRoot site and downloaded newer version (had to enable Fire allowing 3rd party apps to install). After this I still had to rerun 3-4 times but it eventually worked.
* When SuperTool attempts to replace KingRoot with SuperSU, it had some trouble removing KingRoot. Don't worry about that, SuperSU will prompt to remove remaining pieces of KingRoot when you open it, AND you can also just go to home screen, click & hold on KingRoot, and uninstall it yourself.
Once everything was rooted & Nova Launcher was installed, I had a few issues with Nova Launcher not working 100%, e.g. when I tried to install a widget it would pop open the Fire settings screen & not install. I was able to fix this by moving the launcher APK (the app package) from /data/app to /system/priv-app. DISCLAIMER: DOING THIS OR ANYTHING ELSE WITH ROOT ACCESS CAN BREAK YOUR FIRE! To do this, you'll need to install a file browser, I used FX browser plus the root addon (which you will need to muck with system folder). Using root access, go to /data/app and find the APK with "tesla" in the name, the icon should match the Nova Launcher. Cut & paste it in /system/priv-app. Reboot Fire and you're good to go.
That's all I can think of that I had problems with, many of which I expect weren't related at all to using 5.3.1, but thought I'd share anyways.

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 - 4.5.5.2 - Rooted - Google Play Store Help

Greetings,
I was able to successfully root my Kindle with KingRoot but am having great difficulty getting the Google Play store to work.
I've read several threads and followed instructions for installing several versions of the following in the directed order but nothing seems to get the play store to connect and actually work. Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
1. Google Service Framework
2. Google Login Service
3. Google Play Service
4. Google Play Store
Thanks!

@ckwylde
Download the SuperTool zip from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/development/amazon-fire-5th-gen-supertool-root-t3272695
It was made for 5th Gen 7 inch Fire Tablet, but it should work with one of the following methods
method 1:
enable unknown sources in the settings
enable usb debugging
open the tool, connect your tablet via usb (tablet has to be powered on and the home launcher should be open, so the device isn't locked)
press 2 for installing the Google Play Store
reboot the tablet after the process is finished
after rebooting open the play store, log in
you may get a connection failure message
ignore that, close the app, try again
you may have to reboot again
(worked fine on my 7 inch 2017 fire tablet running Fire OS 5.4.0
method two:
download zip
put the following apk files from the "apps" folder on your tablet:
com.android.vending-5.1.11-80310011-minAPI9.apk
com.android.vending-5.9.12-80391200-minAPI9.apk
com.google.android.gms-6.6.03-6603036-minAPI9.apk
GoogleLoginService.apk
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
install every apk (one might be available in two version, try the older one then update to the newer one)
reboot
after rebooting open the play store, log in
you may get a connection failure message
ignore that, close the app, try again
you may have to reboot again
I hope this helps

Disregard guidance from @freaky2xd as it is not applicable to your device (note this forum is for 5th/7th gen Fire 7, not 3rd gen Fire HDX 8.9). Please repost your question in the HDX forum (link below); I will respond there.

Different device, FireOS build and underlying version of Android. Play Store is not a simple add on HDX devices running FireOS v4.

Fire 7" 9th gen, FireOS 6.3.1.2 , Google playstore chrashing, need advice

Hi there,
got an Fire 7" 9th gen, downgraded os to 6.3.1.2 build 000217050244 according to instructions here in the forum.
Also did this here successfully. https://forum.xda-developers.com/am...ire-7-2019-mustang-unbrick-downgrade-t3944365
So far, the Amazon fire runs fine except when i try to run the google playstore.
Pushed the following files to the fire tablets "download" folder:
- com.google.android.gsf_5.1-1743759-22_minAPI22(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk
- com.google.android.gsf.login_5.1-1743759-22_minAPI21(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk
- com.android.vending_7.0.25.H-all_0_-80702500_minAPI14(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk
- com.google.android.gms_11.5.09_(230-164803921)-1109230_min_API21(armeabi-v7a)(nodpi)_aplmirror.com.apk
on the device, installed them using the filemanager that comes default. All good so far.
i am even able to start the playstore, i starts and i enter my payment credentials , after that i can browse the apps, but after selecting "install" on any app in the playstore, it just crashes. I am not able open playstore again, i opens and instantly closes.
Re-installing the apk files mentioned above helps to get tht playstore opened again but then same as before -> select "install" -> crash -> not able to open playstore again.
Since i am not aware of any system logs on the fire tabled, i have no clue whats going on.
Can anyone point me in some direction where to look for the cause of the issue?
Thanks and best

That's the problem, Google API services version is wrong. Make sure the Google API services version is corrected to Android version with 7.1.2 and API 25.
Try it to remove any Amazon apps folder like DeviceSoftwareOTA, DeviceSoftwareOTAContracts in /system/priv-app directory, install Google API services (Google Account Manager - v7.1.2, minimum API 25, Google Services Framework - v7.1.2, minimum API 25) as a system application or user application and reboot.

- reset device
- install Google Play Store via Amazon Toolbox which will deliver the build most appropriate for your device
- resist temptation to 'fix' previous mistakes with further hacks (↑↑) that will likely yield a FrankenFire which will eventually have to be rest/rebuilt.
