Mate 10 Pro oleophobic coating issue - Huawei Mate 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello,
Does any of you have this issue on you Mate 10/Pro phones? It looks to me like a manufacturing defect. 4 days old :crying: The display does not have the factory applied plastic foil. I took it off the same day I got the phone.

From the picture it looks more like a problem with the factory applied screen protection foil. You're sure it is not just that?

The screen does not have that plastic screen protector on. I took it off the second I got the phone.

Hi, unfortunately your Huawei has an optical bonding issue., issue which comes from production. The glue between lens/touchscreen and display is damage on that area... With time, will become bigger. All the best from Timisoara

I just ordered the Van Gogh, Starry Night for my diamond, but there seems to be over 100 types for diamond alone..
The search here returned nothing, so I'm asking, has anyone got it? If so, how is it? What's the feel of it? Does it glide easily on your hand?
Just received it yesterday
Though the wallpaper borders don't match exactly
Overall, not bad, I think
I no longer have the 'sticky' back surface with fingerprint identification built in
Much more pleasant to hold
Are there also ones with flat backs?
recieved mine today; still not mounted.. will make photos when done.. the stickers are already flat, so you can mount it on a xda or mda as well.. only the edges are cut to fit the diamond back.case, but that won't matter too much i think.

Full trasparent tempered glass

I've tried one similar (if not that actual one). It was pretty awful. Felt like plastic, scratched immediately just wiping it after application.
Transparent ones will lift at the edges if they go all the way out and it'll look awful, just fyi
had the same, waste of money, looks awful, feels like compressed plastic bag. payed two months ago 9€.
at the edges you will become small breaks in it and it looks like your phone screen is broken at the edges.
if you want a gadget that makes your 450$ phone look like trash you should buy it.

See photo. Will this get worse. Just it's going for a decent price. Or should I steer well clear.
What kind of damage is that do you know?

This is Samsung's manufacturing defect, pilling off screen..It will enlarge gradually though it will not affect your main screen but it will spread..I too have the same issue, i applied full screen coloured tempered glass to overcome this..Or if you feel thia weird then you need to change whole lcd panel with digitizer..By the way if you r getting this at decent price, then apply skins or full screen tempered glass( black white gold colours available on eBay flipkart amazon) to hide this

Mi Note 10 TPU Film Screen Protector

So, the pack comes with 2 screen protectors (Plastic not glass), a lens prorector, standard phone cleaning tools, a guide (!!!!), a back protector , that basically adds style to the back of your phone while also protecting it, and instructions. I installed all of these with ease and I feel confident saying that this is the best one for people with the Xiaomi Mi Note 10! Would buy again!!

Nice result! Could you post the Buy link?
This would have been useful only with a link / brand / model for the screen protector....
Do you recommend this better than tempered glass?

@Jed Hassler
Imho everthing will be better than this.
Or your must be satisfied with what you have now.
An Amoled is about 120USD, a TFT screen is about 40USD and a replacement cover about 15USD on AliExpress.
Mostly the display does work without problems, but don't expect gorilla glass, so use tempered glass to prevent early breakage.
Personally, because of the risk, I find the Amoled version too expensive as a replacement (a new RN10P is about 220USD), but you can consider the TFT version.
It is not always easy to replace it, so first look at Youtube if you are comfortable with it.
With an RN4 I have done it several times, but once I did broke the glass before replacing.
For that I advice always to choose a display with frame.
Jeez, that Note 10 Pro looks beat up, what happened?
