Freeze con bootlogo - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello friends, I have a problem, my p9 plus does not go beyond the initial logo, because the Cust partition is not recognized, to try to solve it, I reinstalled the original recovery, but that was in this last step where the device is conjugated.
Has anyone had the same problem?. Help me, please.
Thank you and a greeting.

Hi,
Try download full firmware and flash using dload mode.

It's the first thing I tried, but without results, because it doesn't fit into that mode.
I also can't get into twrp or original recovery even though I can flash it.

Put the dload with UPDATE.APP in sdcard.
When the phone off, press all 3 buttons for about 10 seconds.
What the error message?

Well, you can close the thread now.
I've been so stubborn, I've been able to fix the phone myself.
The problem was that I tried to return from international Rom to Vodafone with a somewhat clumsy method. So the terminal stayed in logoloop.
I couldn't get into Huawei's recovery or Download mode.
So I installed the TWRP, and found the problem, the CUST partition could not be mounted, there was no VENDOR, and 3rdmodem was empty.
Well, I looked for how to restore CUST, and there is a tutorial for another terminal, but it didn't help me because the partition to be flashed was different, I tried to do it from the "adb shell" on the pc, but when I tried it from the TWRP terminal, Voila!!, he told me that partition was, incredibly, as if he knew he was in danger, and needed urgent help, hahahahahaha.
Well, then with the same command I installed the other two partitions, and the miracle happened, I reinstalled the two Huawei Recovery partitions, extracted from B103, created a dload folder with that update, and now I finally have the P9 Plus running again.

[Help] Atrix HD won't enter recovery mode no matter what!

I've got an Atrix HD and I've been trying to flash HoloBlur since a while now.
I'm presently on 4.1.1 (98.4.20.MB886.ATT.en.US).
I used the Motochopper tool to gain root access. Success.
I used the Motoapocalypse tool to unlock bootloader. Success.
I've used the Myth Tools to flash the inbuilt CWM as well as other versions of it. I've also tried installing CWM through fastboot. All of the methods which I use tell me that the recovery was flashed successfully. However I cannot enter recovery mode at all. I've used to Myth Tools to enter recovery. Failure. I've powered down and tried the Vol-Up and Power button combination. Failure. I just get the image of the dead Android.
Also, in the fastboot mode, pressing the Vol-Up or Vol-Down buttons does not do anything.
I know for sure that I'm rooted. The Super User app is fully active. I've removed AT&T bloatware to confirm this. The app is fully functional.
I also am certain that the bootloader is unlocked. I've verified this through the fastboot mode.
I don't have a clue about what am I doing wrong. I just cannot enter recovery mode at all.
Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated!
Reinstall cwm through adb? Is the phone still working?

The phones working perfectly fine. The only problem is that I can't enter recovery mode no matter what. I've tried flashing recoveries through fastboot, adb, toolkits, everything. The phone merely shows the dead Android when it enters recovery.

Try starting from scratch using RSD Lite to flash yourself back to stock. Then begin the process again, minus unlocking the bootloader, since you already did that.
I really don't want to do that. Since I dont have access to any recovery at this time, I cant make a Nandroid backup. Which means in case things go bad with the flashing, Ill be stuck with a bricked phone.
did u rename the file install_recovery.sh?

No. However I just tried doing this.
I downloaded CWM Touch 6.0.3.6 from m0ndul's thread.
I extracted the package. Copied the recovery image to moto-fastboot folder as well as recovery folder for Myth Tools.
I entered fastboot and used 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'. Fastboot gave me success notification.
I restarted the phone and entered recovery. The phone shows the dead Android image.
So then I renamed the file to 'install-recovery.sh' in both fastboot and Myth folders.
Both fastboot and Myth Tools give me success notification.
However on entering recovery the same dead Android image comes up. :crying:
You should definitely RSD or MythTools back to complete stock and do the process over again, as mentioned above. It is the only conceivable fix to this strange problem at the time. As long you don't unplug the chord during RSD flashing then nothing will go wrong, I've had to do it about 3 times. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that if an RSD flash was unsuccessful you wouldn't be able to use that nandroid backup in the first place, fastboot would be pretty much the only place you can go.
Even if it didn't work (very highly unlikely), this is another way to do it that will definitely work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40929335
Here's all you need: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/dinara/list.php The third ATTUS and the Mexico Retail are the only two that will work.
I have the AT&T model as well and I have used the Mexico Retail zip every time without fail.
Replace the XML file inside of the zip with this one so that it flashes properly: https://www.box.com/s/num1eshkf0c2or2h4160
It is completely safe, just don't do it during shceduled power outages, storms, don't touch the data cable, and let it do its thing until it boots back up.
Can you boot your phone? If you can, install Root Explorer and change the recovery file name by adding .bak to the end, then try to install cwm.

SOLVED!
I followed instructions from the CWP thread by some other members.
I've had dozens of Androids and I've flashed things hundreds of times but nothing got as messy as AHD did.
In short, bootloops, nuclear warfare and whatnot later, I'm running HoloBlur.
Thanks a million for your assistance.

How did you fix it?
UPDATE:
Nevermind... JUST Remove ~/system/etc/install-recovery.sh it keeps on overwriting the recovery when you boot.

That's way to install custom recovery since renaming that file is the necessary step before flashing custom recovery.

[Q] How to install recovery in a phone which can't start

Hello everyone.
I don't know what happened but my device entered in the infamous bootloop. I tried to erase cache, partition, reinstall a rom, install a different rom and nothing.
My true problem is that last night I made a horrible mistake: I erased everything including my SD card, which contained the data for boot to recovery. Right now I can only see the SONY logo when I power up my device and nothing else.
I tried to install recovery via fastboot flash boot boot.img but I can't keep my device in fastboot. I mean, I connect my device and hold Volume Up but after a few seconds it continuous to the SONY logo and stays there forever.
Am I missing something? What can I do to reintall a recovery if I can't access my phone data?
Thank you.

Bootloop fix without adb or recovery

Hey guys
So, long story short, i ended up in a bootloop after trying to install cm13 (it seems the problem is i forgot to wipe dalvik cache after flashing rom), my phone doesn't get past the manufacterer's logo si i can´t use adb and every time i try to get in to the recovery, it sticks on the TWRP logo for a while and then starts over rebooting, i can never get past the TWRP screen. The only place where it doesn't start rebooting again is at fastboot menu. Also, i read that i could always use RSD Lite, but despite i wouldn´t like to, i haven´t been able to get RSD to recognize my phone.
I don´t now is there is any obvious solution, i'm kind of a noobie.
Any help is appreciated, thank you very much

Flash a stock ROM, preferably LP and see if it works, this is done through fastboot, look around.

P9-L09/19 touch screen doesn't work in eRecovery or TWRP

Hi,
I must admit that I am panicking now because looks like i have bricked my phone and no matter what i try to do i am stuck between erecovery fastboot and TWRP.
To give you some light as to what actually happen... I've replaced oeminfo in originally EVA-AL-10 with EVA-l09. I have installed full system EVA-L09C432B136 and everything was fine at that point.
I thought to myself that it would be nice before putting any data to the phone to actually rebrand it to L19 so i do get a dual sim support.
In another thread I've found oem info for L19-C432. I've replaced it and decided to reflash full image EVAL19-C432B161 which i've also found on this forum due to huawei servers being down? (for some reason I couldn't download anything from the manufacture sources) This is when i got a first error message that updated failed due to incompatibility with the device.
I have been looking for some other full packages but whichever one I've put on a SD card, i couldn't get to work. for some stupid reason i thought about updating B136 hoping that during update process incompatibility issue will get fixed. Unfortunately this wasn't the case and even though the update completed "successfully" on the screen, after the reboot, i ended up in eRecovery.
Having oeminfo in SRK tools which worked for me previously i unlocked bootloader again and installed TWRP so i can root my phone and use srk to update OEM info back to 09.
This is where serious problems started to happen. in TWRP I am unable to use touch screen, only volume buttons and power button to confirm. As its a first launch of the TWRK I cannot even swipe to confirm read/write mode hence I can't go any further to install supersu etc...
Do you have any suggestions what can I do to unbrick it? Is there any workaround to get root via sd card? or maybe forcing somehow stock rom L09C432B136 to install regardless? Maybe there is a way to repack update.app so i doesn't look at the oeminfo?
I have tried replacing images (CUST, BOOT, RECOVERY and SYSTEM) in fastboot mode but I am not having any luck whatsoever.
Please throw me any ideas...
Thanks.
Hi azgooon,
I'm having the same problem, even it's a different huawei phone, did you get your problem fixed? How? Thanks for sharing.

Soft Brick / Hard Brick ? Help...

Hi, well it looks like i have probably hard bricked my phone. After updating to nougat i decided to do afresh clean install. I wanted my phone to as if i had just bought it and came with nougat/emui 5 installed. So i did a factory reset from within the settings menu. But then i thought i would completely erase everything and start from the latest build before nougat, so emui 4.1.2/ marshmallow. So after wiping all the partitions in twrp and then doing a volume up + power to do complete factory wipe followed by using the three button method to install the B130 UPDATE.APP in dload folder on my sdcard, all worked as expected. The update completed at 100% and then rebooted. So there i am waiting for my phone to boot to start the setup process as i have done dozens of times before...BUT...my phone will not boot to the initial setup wizard. It just stays stuck on the Honor logo pulsing animation for ever and ever and ever!!!!!!
So i do the volume up + power button to get to stock recovery and do factory wipe and cache wipe as well. It works as expected so i reboot and once again use the 3 button method to install the update.app on my sdcard. That works as expected and at 100% says its succeeded and reboots. Once again i wait for it to boot to the initial setup wizard but....ALAS...it stays on that DAMN pulsing Honor logo. Ive tried rebooting it several times, redoing the factory wipe and install several times, but nothing. Ive gone into fastboot mode (volume down + power) to try and flash the boot.img and system.img ive extracted from update.app but get the error message -- remote: command failed -- and the same if i try to unlock bootloader. Obviously its not going to work because my bootloader isnt unlocked and nor can i got in to developer settings to enable oem unlock and turn USB debugging on because my phone wont boot past that bloody honor logo.
The only thing i havent done yet is to use eRecovery but i dont have broadband and i doesnt seem to work over public wifi! So i will go to my friends tomorrow and use their broadband and hopefullly eRecovery will download/restore the latest firmware. The only other thing i can think of is to download the original nem-l51c432B102 that came with my phone when bought, extract the update.app file and replace the B130 i have on my sdcard dload folder at present.
Sorry for such a long post but i wanted to expalin evrything in detail to hopefully resolve my problem without going backwards and forwards with questions and answers and taking for ever.
So ANYONE and EVERYONE who managed to read the whole post, if you have even the slightest idea of how to get my phone working, please oh please share it with me. Also my phone is still under warranty so if i needed to send it to a huawei centre to get it fixed would they do it and do it for free??? because eseentialy all i did was a factory wipe/reset and install a frmware and it goes KAPUT!! thats not my fault right????!!???
Thank you to one and all for any wisdom you can share. :crying::crying:

Can you please edit your post ? Add some space, here and there if you want some help... It is nothing but pain for both eyes and mind to read you.
Onto related topic, did you manage to get your phone back to a functionnal state ? Note that the boot sequence can take time after a wipe so maybe it's not broken at all.
As for eRecovery, it never helped me to restore my device, tried on two different Wi-Fi networks after two completely unrelated issues.
Concerning warranty, I guess it depends on your country and where you bought your phone. I went to the carrier which provided me mine this morning since I ended up with a strong brick last night and I'll get a new phone in a couple of weeks.

finally a reply! okay so ill edit my post once ive finished replying to you. First off thanks for taking your time to read my post, i am most greatfull. In response to your questions, suggestions i can tell you:
i went to my friends, connected to their broadband and attempted to use eRecovey to update/restore my device. ALAS it did not work! I tried several times and it gets to downloading package from server only to end in a FAIL.. I got home tried connecting to public wifi and doing eRecovery but it just fails. So like you I have never managed to get eRecovery to work.
As for the booting sequence, as i explained before, whether i access stock recovery and wipe cache and wipe phone it does this no problem, reboots, only to get stuck on the honor logo boot animation. The same goes for installing updatte.app with three button method. it says its installed succesfully but does not get past the honor logo boot animation. Unfortunately your suggestion that it might just take a long time to boot is not the case I have left it for hours you see and it never gets to the setup wizard :crying:
As for warranty, i am in uk, bought the phone via amazon, and it was unlocked, so not from a carrier like you. So i guess ill just have to find my nearest huawei service centre and have them look at it.
Does anyone know the procedure as far as doing this. Do i phone them or email my problem and then send my phone to them or what?? Any help is very welcome.
Thanks for your time and patience.
Please, please help...i'm desperate
So sorry for my original long post people, i simply wanted to give as much detail and info as possible because being vague doesnt help anyone. It seems that might have worked against me.
Please, please any suggestions would be appreciated to the N'th degree! I have tried everything i can think of and i am truly desperate now. I dont understand why i cant get it to work...
I can go into stock recovery and wipe the cach and do factory reset and that works fine, no errors.
I can hold the 3 buttons down to install the firmware package(ive got update.app from B130 build) and that works fine, gets to 100% and says 'success' and then reboots, with no errors.
But either way the phone refuses to boot past the honor logo boot animation and ive left it for hours hoping, praying, it will work after the 32nd time...
I can access fastboot but that is useless because my bootloader is not unlocked and i cant get to developer options to enable 'usb debugging' and 'oem unlock'. So i just get error message 'remote: Command Failed' with any command i type.
But thats madness, i cant comprehend why it wont boot because everything seems to work!?!
There has to be a way to get my device functioning again.
I am pulling my hair out, i am at a complete loss, it doesn't make sense. PLEASE ANYONE ..... please help....
Thanks HONOR-able enthusiasts for any help, no matter how small! :good: :fingers-crossed:

??? hi, I.m sorry, i think you must of misread some of my post. I dont blame you, it was bloody long and confusing!
I only mentioned twrp in the very beggining to run you through the steps to my never ending being stuck on honor logo boot animation. I used TWRP to wipe all partitions and format. From there i used 3 button method to install the update.app(B130) on my sd-card. this was succesfull, no errors and rebooted. I didn't expect any problems. But as i explained it never gets past boot logo.
Obviously now, twrp has gone, i am back to stock recovery and my bootloader is locked.
*I can access stock recovery to wipe cache and wipe the phone no problem and all works with no error messages.
*I can access fastboot(bootloader) but the fastboot commands are useless because my bootloader is locked once again and i cant turn on usb debugging or oem unlock in developper options....because my phone wont boot past honor logo...
*Three button method works everytime, 100% success, no errors, reboots but guess what?? IT WONT GET PAST THAT DAMN HONOR BOOT LOGO!!!!!!!!!
Ive tried everything, but NO LUCK. I came up with this idea today though--- download theB130 rollback from nougat to MarshMallow update.zip. Extract the update.app and put that in my sd-card/dload folder and do 3 button install method.
I might even do the same with the nougat B350 just to cover all bases. So i am downloading now, gonna cross my fingers and any other body parts, pray to all the gods...and hopefully i wont be a crying, sniveling, howling piece of mess by tomorrow.
UNLESS OF COURSE SOMEONE HAS THE KNOWLEDGE I SEEK AND IS WILLING TO SHARE IT :fingers-crossed:

OK, sorry for the misunderstanding. Yeah, try that and if this is still not working, I guess all you can do is try the same with other packages.
