Note 8 and Galileo - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

I use my Note 8 a lot for its GPS for navigation and other bits. Most phones use the GPS system of satellites, however recently Europe has a system of higher accuracy satellites called Galileo. I know the Note 8 is compatible with these new satellites but is there any way of checking that my phone is picking them up.
Thanks all!
PS Galileo won't be fully up and running until about 2020.

I am also interested in receiving Galileo satellite signals. While searching on Web I only found Exynos devices reporting they could receive Galileo satellites. On my SD Note 8 no Galileo reception.
My earlier question posted (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3732492) did not result in any response..
I used GPS Test Plus and GPS Test Apps from playstore to check visible / received satellites, but only GPS and GLONASS satellites are apparently received.

I have the Exynos variant and it appears that I can pick them up. WIll update if anything else happens.

In fact, you already receive it, they work the two joint systems, GLONASS AND GALILEO, supplying one, the shortcomings of the other

So i have the Exynos Note8 and for me everything is working.

Geo-tagging on camera phone started showing pics as being 100 miles to the west

So I just got back from Las Vegas and was looking through all my pictures I took with the phone and every single one of them shows me as being in the middle of death valley.

I've since got home and took some other pictures to test out the geo-tag and they were all showing me as being about 100 miles west also.
I've rebooted the phone to see if it made any difference, it did not.
Things worked fine about a week ago when I last took any pictures with the phone. The only thing I can think of that's changed in that time is I've rooted.
Also, the actual GPS location with navigation and the map seems to be working fine.
Grab the coords from the metadata and put them into Google Maps to see where GM places the location. That might help you determine if Panoramio is mis-plotting.
The coordinates from metadata are all in death valley too.
I was searching around the motorola forums and it looks like this is a common problem:
https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/455683
Just an FYI: This is finally fixed with the 5.6.890 update.
Haha, one of my pics shows two cities on the bottom.

Internet is speeding up then dives to almost 0Mbps over and over again

my internet seems to be ramping up and the diving.
take a look at this
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/262745654/WTF ISP.png
my phone is getting blazing fast speeds while my PC is on a roller coaster.
i dont even know what info you would need to help with this.
win 7 x64 ult
arris modem
linksys router.
router was not hooked up for most of the test as i bypassed it.
but the speeds did not change when i hooked it back up and my phone is still pulling full speed from the router so modem and router seem to be working fine. the only thing that i can think of is that my network controller is messing up but what on earth would cause it to ramp up slowly over 2 hours then dive only to do it over again.
ask away i really need this to stop.
edit: there was even an updated driver for my NIC that i just found that came out about a month ago and STILL no better.
Do a jitter test, I'm sure it's caused by jitter.

Seems like will get WiFi after all !

Lg Holland (LG BENELUX) Claims the got confirmation from LG R&D in Korea that the GWR will get WiFi in the 5.1.1 update ! :
http://androidworld.nl/wearables/lg-g-watch-r-krijgt-wel-wifi-android-wear-51/
Translated :
"LG Benelux received confirmation from R&D in South Korea"
This makes sense to me seeing as :
1. The GWR has a Broadcom BCM4343WKUBG (Same as Urbane) - Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi b/g/n, it only NEEDS ONE ANTENNA to function for BT and WiFi..
2. The GWR is FCC certified for wifi, can't get a certification without an Antenna.
3. Google probably already told manufacturers about wifi a year ago, hardware isn't developed in a month or two...(The all sign NDA).
However, We shall wait and see...

GPS not fully working on EU Stable rom?

I finally got around to installing the latest EU stable rom, 8.0.11.0. Most apps cant seem to get a gps signal, like maps, yelp, weather widget. But when i launch Waze, the GPS icon on the notification bar pops right up and Waze find my location perfectly. All the gps settings are set to high accuracy and permission for apps are set.
Anyone else see this? Am i missing something?
Can't confirm...

Ok, so i was able to figure out what's going on, I downloaded GPS Fix and it has 3 GPS sections, the top 2 were working fine, but the bottom one said Google Play GPS or somthing like that, and it was blank. So I went to some website that helped me uninstall the google play services and reinstall the latest one and now GPS is working fine!
Just in case any of you other folks have GPS issues you'll be able to track it down.
I'm guessing Waze does not use Google Play services for GPS and that's why that one worked fine.

I desperately need help from Dev to re-write a Wifi Fix for the Xiaomi MI9 please.

Hi,
I desperately need help from Dev to re-write a Wifi Fix for the Xiaomi MI9 please.
The enclosed WIFI Fix was written for the A1 and I hope to find a nice Dev who can make this work on MI9.
I am constantly getting the error: "This WLAN has no internet"
I am an IT-guy and I have checked every possible way to get his error fixed, but I am not an Android Dev
EDIT: Files is enclosed now

Which WiFi fix? I think you missed the link.
I'm wondering what the A1 fix actually does - perhaps the Mi 9 has a different underlying issue for you.
I too get the same error, though not very often, just a couple of times a week. I usually don’t have to do anything to fix it, internet connection will for most times be present contrary to what the message states, though not always. I have tried everything and eliminated every other source of this error than the phones wifi. It can occur with all kinds of wifi networks, both private and public. The error started with the two latest firmware’s and I never saw this with the initial firmware. Using stock global EEA.
