I wanted to flash Lineage OS but bricked, i need to get stock rom. where do i find it?
Follow my guide - read it first.
You need to follow Tutorial #2 if you were on Oreo before you bricked.
To test ist, flash TWRP with "fastboot flash recovery TWRP.IMG", if this gives you a "partition length" error, your phone is formatted for Oreo, so use Tutorial #2.
There's also a link to TeamMT's firmware database where you can get the right stock rom.

Hey so if this has been covered elsewhere please let me know, but I'm hoping to revert back from my Nougat rom to MIUI8 and return to the standard recovery.
What is the correct procedure for this? Can I just flash the MIUI8 rom with TWRP?
Thanks in advance people.

Maybe this helps? http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/help/how-to-revert-cm14-to-miui-t3516986
Obviously you can't flash MIUI with TWRP if you are on CM or some other custom ROM. You need miflash.

Yeah first time I did this I hard bricked the phone. This is the process I use now:
1) Download MiFlash
2) Download Mi5 Fastboot ROM that you want to use
3) Reboot phone into Fastboot
4) Put phone into EDL using the command "fastboot oem edl" (without quotes)
5) Launch MiFlash - it should detect it as a COM device. Flash the ROM you downloaded earlier.
6) Once it's done, you'll be back to original MIUI. Be aware that this also flashes the recovery too, so you'll need to reinstall TWRP if you want to use it.

I'm going to souce MiFlash and the latest fastboot ROM from here: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Just an update, the procedure above worked perfectly.
I am now running MAAMIDI with stock recovery.
Thankss heaps for the help Nbkdnssr!
So, just got the OTA update to Android Pie for my Mi 8 Global, and want to try flashing TWRP again. Every single version of TWRP I have flashed before has always either fail to boot, or always reboots into recovery and the ROM never loads. Anyone can suggest a real working TWRP file to flash? Do I need to wipe data? Etc. Since TWRP hasn't worked for me at all, I have to root with a roundabout way. Install Magisk Manager, extract and recompile boot.img into patched_boot.img and flash that in fastboot. This gives me roo but no TWRP so I can't flash any custom kernels or ROMs.

Download a stock ROM and grab the boot.img from inside it.

I'd suggest HurUpdater: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ho...h-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279/page111
OTAs do work with an unlocked bootloader, but not with root or custom kernels.
Does this works with the P10? In the post i ddin´t found the P10.
And if it works, wich zip file i have to choose? And i have root
Thanks
Try my guide (Tutorial #2, Oreo to Oreo)
After that do a factory reset with eRecovery (boot with Vol+ and connected USB).
What also should work is flashing the system.img manually via fastboot.
For this extract the system.img from the correct firmware version with Huawei Update Extractor.
Connect your phone to your PC, boot into fastboot and flash with "fastboot flash system PATH\TO\SYSTEM.IMG".
After that do a factory reset with eRecovery (boot with Vol+ and connected USB).
Note for the next time: backup your system partition via TWRP before flashing the custom rom.
Also note that a factory reset is needed, without your phone won't boot, so backup your personal data before doing it.

Yes, it works on the P10. You can download the files with the firmware finder app. I'd recommend the newest oreo version for your customisation (e.g. B382 for C432).
But Jannomag's solution should work equally well.
Wich Jannomag´s thread?
Do you have the link, please?
Thanks

Possibly you renamed the wrong customisation file (i did it once for the 09 while I needed the 29).
Which one did you download? And did you flash manually or did you use my script?
Download my oeminfo, it's from VTR-L29C432 Version 8.0.0.380, while the version doesn't really matter.
Flash it via TWRP using "Install" and "Use Image". Flash it to oeminfo partition. Then do my update script again.
I followed the guide to do Oreo to Oreo - basically wanting to get from custom Rom (fRomFuture B370) back to stock, so I chose the same firmware version to extract. Flashed everything with the script and it went fine and it boots and works.. but
The resolution seems to be off, too low and the right side of the screen is unresponsive to touch (about 1cm )
EDIT- Rolled back to fRomFuture B370 for now - need to find a way to get back to stock, as want to move on to Openkirin ROM instead
HI, i have a vtr-l29 root, i want to unroot(version oreo), how do i do it? what do i need to flash?. thank you Alex

I rooted my phone but didn't really like it while having my banking apps on it. So I tried to get back to normal but ended up wiping everything, even the OS, off of my phone. I am trying to get it back to normal. I followed one guide on here which gave me an android 10 ROM but I was unable to update it to the latest version. The link for that guide is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/guide-official-stock-android-10-t4033835. I didn't install the force encrypt or the magisk because I don't wanna root it. I just want it back to how it was before the root. So I am wondering if there is a way that I can get back to normal now. Thanks in advance for any advice.

well what is the problem ? if it booted and you didn't flash magisk you are on stock. ...what exactly do you want ? to lock the bootloader or remove twrp custom recovery too ?

The ROM was an earlier version of android 10. But I am unable to install the latest updates for android 10 OTA. It's working but I would like to be able to receive updates again. If there is another ROM that would give me those results I would be fine with flashing that too.

the most likely issue is your recovery ... take the stock recovery from a fastboot stock rom and flash that with fastboot
also make sure to flash stock rom in both slot A & B then updates will work
go to this website
https://www.getdroidtips.com/xiaomi-mi-a2-stock-firmware/
download a PIE stock rom that is a FASTBOOT version ... download miflash ...follow instructions to flash it using miflash in fastboot mode
then boot & set it up ...it will start offering updates by itself
your problem right now is that you flashed stock rom in only one slot and you have a custom recovery so that is why it can't update

So I downloaded a fastboot file from here :https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/fastboot-xiaomi-mi-a2-fastboot-images-t3824849
The miui flash program wouldn't work for me. On the website you linked me there was a method that used twrp to flash it. But when use twrp I can't see any of the zip files in twrp. I've tried three different ones from the link I just shared here. Not sure what the problem is.
