Hi my gallery is lagging when i scroll up and down to the point the image arent showing up on the thumbnails
saw another thread that saying that it is due to the bixby remapping app, i indeed had that app before but it was a long time ago
tried to clean system cache and also the gallery cache yet no luck
anyone else have this problem and any solution for this?
edit: went to safe mode tried to open gallery app and scrolling on gallery is smooth, went back on normal boot then all is well..
no idea why this happened

From experience on previous android phones, after every major os upgrade its advisable to perform wipe (factory reset). I did after upgrading to oreo
This solves all weird minor problems such as this

I would try wipe and reinstall. I used fix number 4 and my htc apps have been completely removed.
I have to agree, I am also still seeing com.htc.worldclock and com.htc.lockscreen and clicking on them does in fact cause a FC. But I can confirm that those apps are indeed uninstalled, so I don't see it as a huge deal. I don't like using the manage applications menu anyways because it takes so long to compute all the sizes and load all the names, so not a huge deal for me. You think that maybe whiping the dalvik cache might fix this? Just a suggestion, not sure what it would actually do.
I don't know i will try it i just hope it not related to a bigger problem
I tried wiping via recovery and it tells me to flash via adb shell I'm currently running recovery 1.5.2
I have found that even on 1.5 if you removed a system app after it was installed on the phone that it still left a trace on the phone. the way I got around it was just by downloading the ROM unzipping it changing what I wanted to change and then rezip and resign and then flash then there is no trace at all.
im not to sure how to sign a rom is there a good page tutorial for it.\
Thank you

Wiping Dalvik doesn't fix this problem for me. I have the same issue -- "ghost" items in your Manage Applications menu that you know you have already uninstalled.
One temporary fix I've found is if you go into the Manage Apps menu and "Clear Data" in either "com.smithmicro.DM" or "Download Manager", all the ghost apps and pieces go away. But this doesn't last through a reboot -- those all show back up again after every reboot, so it's not a permanent fix.
Any others have any luck with clearing these "ghost apps/pieces" out of the Manage Applications menu?
(I'm currently using ZenEXP MT3G ROM 0.9.6.3)
I haven't looked into it, but I noticed the same problem. The app list must be cached somewhere, which is interesting because it takes a good 10 minutes to load the app list every time i go to manage applications, which is why I rarely use it.
Hi all. I've recently upgraded my phone to the official Froyo release, JPO running on a UK SGS unbranded and unlocked. I like to use Launcherpro as my launcher app because of the calender and twitter widgets but now, when I switch the phone on it just seems to hang for ages. If I click on the app drawer button or anywhere on the screen I get a sequence of vibrations (1 short - pause - 3 short) then I'm offered the chance to force close launcherpro or wait. If I force close it seems to come back to life after but I really don't want to be doing that every time I switch on.
I've tried various things such as 2 different versions (8.0.0 and 8.1.1 latest) and even tried completely wiping my phone, including the dalvik cache, cache partition and formatting the internal SD.
Does anybody have any suggestions what may help with this? Is it a known bug at all?
Many thanks in advance

Has nobody else experienced this? I don't have this problem with Zeam or ADW but I just prefer Launcherpro and would love to get it working properly again
Has anyone noticed this bug with JPY?:
When you first boot and open Gallery it is super fast with all the thumbnails preloaded. After a couple of hours when you open it again it says "Loading images" and re caches the thumbnails again taking some time. This is especially evident in folders with a lot of images. It would be ok for an hour and then bam! Loading images slowly when i open it again.
Clicking on a folder opens it with the first four pics showing and then scrolling you have to wait a few seconds for the thumbnails to appear whereas when it initially booted all the thumbnails were already there. Its like it deletes the thumbnails after a while and has to generate them again which takes some time especially if you have a lot of folders and pics.
Is this normal, I don't remember this in my old firmware? Its the only thing that is bugging me. Maybe they force close Gallery after a certain time avoid the sensor draining bug that was there with the previous firmware?
Can you please check a see if yours is the same so i dont have to do a factory reset
you can download SGS tools from the markup and upgrade your gallary app.. that's what i did and i don't have any problems with the gallery anymore..
goodluck
The gallery app in SGS tool is not compatible with JPY because of the new feature of selecting wall paper for lock screen. I gave it a try but it would force close everytime i wanted to select a wallpaper.

Absolutely the same and even more.... I have my picasa account connected to the gallery too, after an hour mainly picassa the gallery crashes - black screen, but no force close. Actually this one, the battery (not 100% after disconnecting) and the contacts app not closing, made me go back to JPP.

The contacts bug can be solved by uninstalling the task manager's update.

Yes, go to manage applications, find it and click uninstall updates to go to the previous version, and the contacts app will be ok.

The best place to start is wth a bit more info. We wont know how to help until we know how you got here.
What ROM are you running?
What base firmware?
Has the phone always done this or only started recently?
Are there any pop-up error messages when gallery closes?
Have you tried clearing the cache ad data from the gallery app?
Can a third party gallery app (like QuickPic) access your photos?
Have you tried backing up your SD card contents and re-formatting the SD card?
Running stock with latest int firmware
It started last week, never had such issue before
No FCs or any other popups
clearing the cache ad data from the gallery app did not work
a third party gallery app works fine
I think the only other thing to try is to wipe the device clean & start over
I appreciate your support
For the last few days I'm experiencing this therrible stutter whenerver I want to acces quick options or open app drawer. On video with such low bitrate it's not that obvious, but if you watch carefully you will see. I mean this kind of hickup. App drawer does the same somewhere in the middle. I've tried to wipe cache numerous times, then full wipe using built-in recovery, but it's still happening. And other than that the phone is a beast and performs great, it's just annoying to have one of the fastest Android devices out there and being forced to look at those stutters every time I want to use quick settings or app drawer.. Anyone know what may be the case here?

Hi, I had the same issue after the 7.0 & 4.0 update, after a few days of using it. Cleared the cache and factory reset from recovery solved it. Also, I`ve reconfigured my phone from the scratch, without making any backups ( just contacts ) . Hope it helps
