So made a MOD for theming of Custom Splash Screen (bootsplash). This MOD works with s9+, so should work for S9 too. You can change now pictures without to modify and flash the bootloader (up_param.bin).
Important: The MOD only works with Exynos-9810-based devices!

How to Flash
Place the zip on the internal/external memory.
boots into Recovery
then click on "install" in the TWRP
searches for the folder where the zip file was placed
and flashes it by clicking on the zip and dragging the slider to the right at the TWRP
rebooting
How do I change the boot logo in the template?
open the exynos9810_logochanger zip (with WinRar or 7zip) and replace the logo. jpg with another image of your choice
the new image must be renamed to logo. jpg again. Otherwise it won't work!
How to return to the Stock logo?
You don't like the custom logos anymore?
then just flash the zip appropriate for your device:
exynos9810_logochanger_Stock_S9 (for Galaxy S9)
exynos9810_logochanger_Stock_S9+ (for Galaxy S9+)
Troubleshooting
If your hanging in a bootloop without access to twrp, please reflash the bootloader via odin. TWRP and system boots up again.
Note:
Not all images work, the best results are achieved if you just edit the stock image.

So, that's it, too. Leave a "thanks" here if it was helpful or you even liked it.
S8+ note 8 s7 edge method works ?
What exactly did you mean? If this mod works on those devices too? Ive made MODs for s8(+) / Note8 too. Look at that section here in this forum. On s7(edge) its not working without modifiying the script.
Zip works a treat however
Can you confirm the resolution of the jpg needed, 1079x1747?
Not exactly the same, but thats the resolution of the stock images. I think they could be a bit smaller or bigger. Never tested out how big the .jpgs could be.
I used the black/purple samsung splash from the first post but the logo ended up appearing near the bottom of the screen and not the middle lol.
Would be handy to know, if possible, if they need to be a certain size/if so what size to display properly
As stated the zip flashes perfectly ?
This is more than enough reason to buy an s9 right here! thank you! I have been wanting to change all of my splash screen on my devices since 2011 but nobody could figure out their locations. Will this get patched with updated bootloaders?

I don't think so. The partitions are fixed. I therefore assume that it will continue to work in the future.
@hanspampel
Hi, I flashed a new splash via TWRP and after flashing, TWRP shut down and I now cannot reboot
I just get a black screen when trying to reboot into recovery and normal boot
no FRP error either
do you know what may have caused this?
I can access download though. hoping a TWRP flash will sort it but don't want to loose the setup I had if I have to return to stock
I've never had such issues. But i must say, i don't own a S9(+). Is your zip correct? Maybe you send it to me and i can take a look if there is something wrong.
Otherwise try to flash the bootloader via Odin.
PS: Did you tried the stock file before you flash your own version?

zip was fine but flashed my own version last night
then today i flashed the stock one before my new one
seems it was a frp style brick without the red text - just flashed stock and oem unlock is stll there so all good
I created an image with same resolution as logo.jpg but after flashing there is no splash screen, only bootanimation follows after few seconds.
I have to admit, its nigh on impossible to get the image just how I want it
no matter how I resize or crop the pic, it does not display correctly.
Really need someone to confirm pixel x pixel size and also file size
im 100% certain flashing a 1.7 mb jpeg file to the splash screen partition borked my phone on Tuesday!!!! lolol
furthermore may I suggest that the guide on the 1st page is updated with this information??
I love this tool but without knowing how to use it properly it defeats the object.

Hello,
Thank you for your sharing.
I have tried to flash it on my galaxy S9+ but my phone doesn't bot now... and I don't know why.
I have edited directly the orignal image and put it in the zip file. When I flash the zip file seemed working but now I don't have any splash screen(no vibration) and android doesn't boot.
Do you know where does the issue come from ?
Hi
Dont know the problem. Maybe i can look if you upload the zip. Atm reflash the bootloader for your device and it boots up again.
I have used this usefull link to unbreak my phone : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k23Ud_F1ZH0

Has anyone looked into if this works on the g9600 snapdragon? What location should I look up to see if it's the same?
I use this picture, made it myself.
On the phone the text is almost in the middle, or let's say the text is like I want it to be.
This picture is 1300x1684 resolution and 72/72 dpi, but the placement of the text to the left, is the key to get the text in the middle on phone screen.

Whats up cheers!
After try flash a droid kernel, my milestone stucks on the bootload on this err:A5,69,4E,00,23 (version 90.78). But, i can access the normal bootload with no error, pressing UP when the phone starts.
The RSDLite recognise my device, but without any informations (before it, when I had flashed the vunerable recovery, a lot of infos, like the OMAP platform appears on the screen).
I can access the recovery screen, but without the menu, just the /!\ image (my device don't work with VolUp+Cam [the buttons work perfectly on the android], to install my CM7 custom rom i had to instal some scripts on the stock rom, but the device don't starts anymore, so i can't install any script).
So, I think, if I can open the recovery menu and re-install the cm7 my brick will be back, but HOW? Exists a mod to work this way?
Sorry for my bad english, i'm brazilian.

As long as RSDlite sees the device, you should be able to SBF back to stock. Once you are back to stock you can go through the root process again, install Open Recovery, and then you will be able to restore your nandroid backup.
Another option is, and I don't know anything about the Open Recovery for Milestones, but some custom recoveries have a way of cold booting straight into the recovery. If you can find out how to do that then you are golden, if not then you will have to SBF.

Try these two things, if they don't work then I think you are stuck with SBFing.
From phone off state - Hold Power+X. When you get to the triangle with !, try either VolUp+VolDown or VolUp+Camera. If you don't get into the recovery that way, try:
From phone off state - Hold Power+Camera. If that gets you to a triangle with ! then try the same key combinations from above.
If neither of those work for you, then SBF your phone and start over. If you get bootloops after SBFing, boot into the stock recovery with Power+X and wipe data/factory reset.

I had downloaded the Brazi Retail one on this link: sbf.droid-developers(dot)org/umts_sholes/list.php (I can't link before 10 posts, change the (dot))
But, before the flash, i saw a problem: The A853 SBF is only for Canada, the rest, i think, may be for the Droid, and not for the Milestone.
Please, help me one more time! How version I need?

All of those should be for the Milestone. Any of the Brazilian ones should work for you, they are most likely just different versions of the OS. If you press back in the upper left hand corner of that page it shows that the Droid (A854,A855) has it's own download area. All the Brazilian ones seem to be the SHLA SBF's and I believe that is what you are looking for.

Are you running RSDLite as Administrator? If that is not the issue, try to shorten the path and filename (you have a space in your path? (M MS)). You could also try to use earlier versions of RSD, I used 4.9 with no problems (mostly).

RSD Lite version used: 5.6 (without adm permitions)
OS: Win 7
The file has renamed as stck.sbf and putted on the C:\ root directory
Thanks for everybody. And now, I wanna help the people with the same problem as me, so, any questions about this process you can ask me by PM.

Hey guys,
I own a SGS+ and tried to flash a ROM a few month ago.
Not sure which one it was in particular but it was a 4.1.2 ROM.
Normally it worked pretty well but that time it broke my phone apparently.
So now a few month later I tried to get it to work again.
My phone stucks at the splashscreen, easy said.
It boots till the splash screen and then it's on for about 3-4 minutes I guess and then the screen turns off.
But apparently it still runs because if I try to start it again over the power button it doesn't work.
I have to remove the battery, insert it again and then I can use the power button.
I tried several things and I'm out of information here.
So maybe one of you guys can help me out here?
Thanks for reading!
Try wiping cache an dalvik cache and fix permissions. If that doesn't help do a full wipe and install a new rom. If it still doesn't work, flash a stock rom via odin. Also, which recovery are you using?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda app-developers app
Already did everything you mentioned, multiple times.
Well I used at first CWM 6.0.1.2 then switched to 6.0.2.8, then 6.0.3.2, then 6.0.3.6 and then TWRP 2.4.0.0 and TWRP 2.6.0.0.
I tried those who should be for the bricked phones.
Try to flash a new kernel, then flash a new ROM. You should be able to get into download mode...

That's not the problem.
I can get into download mode, I could get into download mode all the time.
I don't think you got my problem right:
My phone stucks at the splash screen.
Doesn't turn off only screen turns off but the phone is still running.
I can only reboot if I take the battery out.
So it boots up to the splashscreen and stucks.
I flashed a few new roms and nothing worked.
If you can get into download mode, try flahing a stock rom via odin.

Maybe you didn't flash appropriate ROM for your device. Read this thread, especially the first post by our forum mate xsensman and try to check if it could be concerning also your device:

Mate, something is strange there. With splashscreen you mean bootloop, right? So you see the logo, but the phone doesn't really loads the Android?
OK, here we go: please remove the battery and write down your serial No and google a bit is it really i9001? There are about 20 different types of SGS so just to make sure which model do you have.
That bootloop can happen for several reasons, but I would assume that in your case it happens either for:
bootloader isn't working properly
you haven't flashed the proper ROM for your device.
I suspect very strongly the bootloader, so re-flashing the bootloader via Odin, theoretically, should revive your phone. Just check (as written above) do you REALLY have i9001, (as otherwise -if not- you could brick it with the bootloader for i9001):
First post, "5. Follow the instruction" (all files there)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32144697
I'm 100% sure that I have a real i9001, not a special edition or something like that.
And I flashed before it got broken a few month and the roms worked just fine.
Well but then it broke somehow.
I just see that my phone with the CWM-Recovery can't format /data and hangs.
Can't do anything unless I remove the battery and boot up again.
Could this be a hint for you guys?

I have no idea what may that be, but are you sure your phone is bricked?
Have you tried to use normal TWRP 2.6 instead of that one for bricked phones?
I don't know, but maybe this helps:

@tetakpatak: Yes, I did it like the post "suggested".
@3L4CK_5C0RP10N: No, I'm actually not sure, that's why I wrote "bricked/broken".
I'm not the best guy at those things as you can guess.
No, I didn't tried the normal one, gonna try it now, atleast it's worth trying.
I read the post you linked me here and tried those things, unfortunately nothing happened.
Even tried it with ADB, also no solution found there.
But thanks already for the work guys!
suggest you try the following:-
1) power it down, remove battery, remove SIM card and Ext SD card and press and hold your power button for at least 30 seconds to a min, before reinserting battery and entering CWM recovery
2) In CWM recovery, enter Mounts and Storage and Format every partition, that can be formatted, repeat it twice ( You will lose all your data ) meaning you will be trying to get a clean environment for a fresh start. Do not reboot but pull out battery, press power for a few seconds and insert battery.
If you need your data, in mounts and storage, enter usb storage, here with usb connected to PC you can copy your entiere internal SDcard to PC, for salvage later.
3) get into Download mode, to flash the oldest i9000 Stock ROM 2.3.3 with AriesVe.ops using Odin 4.43 ( with ops ticked) How to flash follow this

Yesterday, I have added another couple of modems with wifi fixes, you can look below flashing instructions in th OP.

Baseband is the term used for modem in the about phone in settings.
You seem to be on the old bootloader and may have to upgrade to 4.4.2 to solve the in call issue
Do you know where I can find the bootloaders? Or is it included in the roms?

Bootloader is included in the firmware. I do have a CWM flashable zip of the CNE5 firmware that I had made but has not been tested (I have personally flashed over same firmware without any issues, it goes through). It includes the modem & non-holos that you can delete before flashing. If you want to try you can get it from my GDrive https://docs.google.com/file/d/0ByY8uLVuRKD2ZHc0NGFsNjhPalk/edit?usp=docslist_api.
Put in the root of your internal sdcard. Power off and manully boot into recovery and flash.
Thanks Jason. I downloaded your file and then did the following
1. Removed non-holos and modem, rezipped, added to phone, switched off, into recovery and installed. Still the same bootloader.
2. Tried your file as is, i could just reload the modem later. All fine, but when i checked, it's still the same bootloader.
Any ideas?

In case you have not yet flashed the CNH2 firmware, it would be a good idea to flash the CNE5 firmware as it does not have knox. You can get it from this link and then flash the modem you want separately.

Enter download mode only after complete power off. Do not attempt to enter download mode from phone software menu or by holding Vol- when rebooting.
Lots of guides say double flashing is needed to "make it stick" [emoji15] Jasonrr and allram among others advice this unnecessary because download mode is entered wrong.
Jason Gdrive instructions
"Open Odin -> Untick Autoreboot -> Flash modem.bin in Phone part, reboot phone to download mode again and reflash modem.bin, same procedure with NON-Hlos.bin, flash twice -> reboot to ROM and check baseband version"

Both equally missing how to flash only once.
Here's what you need to flash safely, and I'm not telling you to select this or that modems. Read and choose what best fit your needs:

Enter download mode only after complete power off. Do not attempt to enter download mode from phone software menu or by holding Vol- when rebooting.
Lots of guides say double flashing is needed to "make it stick" [emoji15] Jasonrr and allram among others advice this unnecessary because download mode is entered wrong.

If you refer to the post above you will see that I have said to power off & manually boot into recovery & Never have I had to double flash any firmware or modem. So I really cannot understand the reason for this post.
Yes only once I had recommended it to someone who complained that after a couple of tries he was unable to flash & sometimes unothodox methods work.
thanks for that link Jason. The download and flash did not work. there must have been something wrong with the download i tried from sammobile. I ended up restoring a backup of slimkat I had after a couple of hrs struggling.
busy downloading the CNE5 one
And yes thanks O-T . I saw your posts on that when I" was searching for a solution the last couple of days. also the Power and volume up/down.
I came from SII so when I first tried with the home and it worked I assumed it was correct. now I can pick my nose while entering recovery/downoad
I see Jason tried to correct the modem flashing guide on his Gdrive, still some strange lines.
"...
Boot into download mode by holding power down + power key
...
Connect USB Cable"
Where is power down key?
Hardware key on the left side control sound dB level up and down. Guess this is the one. Most others call it volume key. System settings also use Volume.
Flashing by USB need connection to 5V powered plug. Lot of frustration from failed flash by USB hub can be avoided by emphasize to connect cable directly to computer USB.
Please read my thread. Use it instead of rewrite what's there. I will correct if you find something is missing.

my friends a305f A30 stuck at samsung logo
i tried factory reset from recovery but it didnt work
flashed 4 files firmware neither worked
the strange thing the device remains on samsung logo for 12 hours and the device temperature is like a the temperature when it is turned off
If you cannot recovery this phone by flashing full firmware with Odin, the internal memory is damaged.
Something you should try:
1. A30 has the ability to prevent downgrade flash, try the latest version always. If you flash old version, Odin will sometimes fail for no specific reason
2. Flash CSC instead of home CSC, leave it alone.

Yes, I got the similar problem because I flashed rooted boot.img provided by other people which doesn't match my current rom.
So I use lastest odin with lastest A30 rom (check carefully, the country code as well as the ISP)
For example, my A30 is SM-A305YN Australia XSA, if I try to flash OPP, TEL, VAU, it ALWAYS FAILS, but the process does not damage your phone so you can keep trying if you are not sure about the correct version. However your need to make sure reboot phone and re open the odin everytime when if failed.
Since I mentioned before, you cannot flash lower version than the rom your phone has, but you can flash the same version, so always use latest rom with latest odin.

Here are some common mistakes or potential problems:
1. Didn't use USB 2.0
2. Didn't use back USB ports (those on motherboard)
3. Dodge cable
4. Wrong ROM files (or shows errors while decompression)
5. Put wrong files in wrong sections.(for example, put boot img in system section)
Provide log and screenshot maybe we can check which part is wrong

It should blue screen saying download updates for 2 sec then restarted and was stuck on the same first screen. Anyone can help. Is it hardware issue?

do force reboot (- volume and power)
Hey
After the latest update, every time I called with the Note 8, it would restart and every time I would switch it off, it would start back on. So the first thing I did was boot to recovery mode and wipe cache partition. When I restarted the phone, I would get a "No command" error and it would always boot to the recovery mode. Next, I tried flashing the latest firmware (I made sure to use the right carrier, VDH) from SamMobile using Odin which still didn't work. Then I tried NAND erase and re-partition and this didn't work either.
I am very new to this so any solutions would be greatly appreciated

When you tried to flash stock with Odin did it pass? Fail? Did it give an error code? Did you download the latest filmware? As you can't flash older filmware than what is already on the phone.

Hey, thanks for the reply
When I flashed with stock firmware, Odin said it passed. And I used the latest firmware for my carrier from SamMobile

I was hoping that it was an issue with Odin so I could possibly help you, even having a look on the internet doesn't being much help other than trying a factory reset. I've been on xda for years and never seen this issue before. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will see your post, I suggest bumping your thread every 24 hrs.
Having tried flashing stock with Odin which usually resolves most bugs I would guess that it is a hardware issue and if you're able to, take it to a service centre.
If you do find a solution please post it here on XDA for anyone who searches this in the future

Looks like the partition in your internal SSD has been corrupted and needs to be reformatted. If that doesn't work then you need to have the motherboard on your device replaced.
