I used this website to register the phone in the U.S.:
https://productregistration.sony.com/
But it doesn't recognize the model number (I put G8441). Any suggestions? Thanks.

2 Days old hd7. Bought from London 02 locked. Used imie unlocked website n got kt unlocked.
now I'm in India. When ever I try to access marketplace it says not available for ur region. is this normal or since its unlocked some features may not work?
Or it would only work with 02sim and in London only?
also has anyone been able to manage a file explorer ? I'd still need market place though
It's to do with the Live ID you used to sign in. It is most likely linked to India and because the marketplace isn't open to India yet you will not be able to access it.
IF you want to gain access you will need to setup a new Live ID with American / British addresses.
I'm not sure how payment will work though as you may need a Billing Address in the US /UK.
Okay this is what i tried.
I reset my HD7. Then when it started i didnt set up the live ID. i tried market place and it worked on my home WiFi. (i put my sin card off - flight mode)
Then i went on the computer and changed my hotmail id to united states. I entered my id on hD7 and again on WiFi tried market place and it worked.
BUT when i tried to purchase anything it says product not available on catlogue.
Then i started my simcard and tried market place again and it said itsnot available for this region.
So its the sim card thats creating the region.
Now with my ID set as USA, when im in london next i am going to try market place. I have a 3 service sim card there with internet on it.
Will then check and post again.
I tried to put my phone and flight mode and tried market place on WiFi and guess what now again it says not available for your region.
So until i had no sim activated inside i was good. but now somehow phone knows wether flight mode or no flight mode...my location is India
As far as I know, once a Live ID is created for a certain region, you cannot change the region.
You are able to change it for the individual services (Hotmail, etc) but the base ID remains attached to the country you registered it as. There were some problems experienced by UK residents where they had initially registered a US account for use with Zune marketplace and then changed it all to UK when they purchased a WP7 device but because it was still a US account they could not add their UK credit card for purchases in the MarketPlace.
So, it seems that you'll either need to create a new US ID but potentially have no access to your credit cards or you'll just have to wait till the WP7 launches in India.
Good luck and let me know what you try!
Hi everyone. So I recently got my Korean SKT GS3 stolen while at a wedding in India. I have friends here who know a person or two in the police, and is in a position to help me out and get my phone back for me. However, in order to do that I need the IMEI number. I didn't write down my IMEI number before I had it stolen, but I DO have the box that the phone came with. There are a lot of different numbers on the box, and I'm not sure which one the IMEI number is. I assumed it was 15 digit number on the box, but when I checked it with www.imei.info, it gave a completely different phone. There's another 15 character thing on the box, but I think that's the serial number because it starts with 12 SSBO 4G *******.
Can anyone confirm which number is the IMEI number? And by chance.. would anyone know if it's possible to track this Korean phone when it's in India?
Thanks in advance!
Hello all,
I just purchased a Sprint HTC One that has previously been flashed for Page Plus. I did an online chat with PP to do an esn swap. The rep said everything on his end went fine, but my One would not receive service. I just got back on chat and had PP swap esns back to my original phone, and the service works fine.
I looked at the "current username" and Phone Number fields on the One (in the Phone Identity page), and it looked like it did not accept my correct phone number, as there is a number in those fields I do not recognize - presumably the previous owner's old number.
Do I need to manually change the phone number on my phone? If so, would you please direct me to a tutorial on how to do so? Thanks!:good:
I've got a Canadian note 4 that I'm using in the UK. I bought a local sim (EE if that matters) and it won't make a call using standard local formatting.
For example, a number that is
0189 xxxxx won't work if I dial it like that.
I have to use the format
+44189 xxxxxx
Not a big deal, but I found it strange.
Here's my guess...
When you first set up the phone did you have to enter a country ?
Maybe you need to let the phone know it's home country is UK as it sounds to me the handset still thinks it's a Canadian phone that's needing to use international dialing code for dialing the UK.
Maybe it needs changing to UK ? I would assume that requires factory reset then entering UK as country but as I say it's just a guess.

Check the setting in the menu Settings > Calls > Additional settings > Auto area code ?
Monday I updated the FW of my US unlocked Note 8 (N950U1 / SD-version) with N950U1UEU5CRG6.
After the update I noticed that in Settings - About Phone, My Phone Number is listed as UNKNOWN. I am using the phone in The Netherlands with provider Hollandsnieuwe (=Vodafone). I am certain that the actual phone number was correctly displayed prior to the FW update.
Not sure if related, but Find My Phone/Device does no longer work via Samsung or Google. Is does work through Bitdefender Anti Theft...
Anyone has this or other issue after the update? Thoughts?

Hi, on my 2 Note8 dual sim, it is said : phone number⇒ unknown. And this from the beginning (on every firmwares). I'm in france using two french sim cards in the phone and i bought my phones on samsung shop. Until now, no problem, everything works great.
My branded, but unlocked 950F, as I paid for it the full price to use it as a prepaid phone displays the same, unknown number, since day one, I bought it directly from the major carrier in Mexico which is Telcel, everything works fine, all services and VoLTE
You mean like this seeing on my screenshot? This number is only visible if it's saved into your SIM card. Since a while, the carriers/operators don't write longer the numbers into the SIM card
So if you don't see it now, you never saw it before!
But there was an xposed module (if I remember right on android 4.4.2) where you can change this (showing) number.
(It don't changed your registered phone number!)
At that time I had found that thread
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...share_tid=2106490&share_fid=3793&share_type=t
That should be the correct GitHub link:
https://github.com/OXINARF/SIMNumberChanger
But it looks like there is a newer xposed module called SIMEditor - maybe that still works (when your device is rooted and xpised installed)

Sorry for German language. The first line: Eigene Telefonnummer means "own phone number"
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts
I've never had my phone number displayed in the information menu. As far back as the Note 3, no matter what firmware, official or custom, or even other phones. I live in South Africa. After reading @Logel's explanation, it now makes sense to me why it never showed to me, because of the way South African carriers assign numbers to customers.

I know it's not the exact same model, but my N950F/DS shows my phone number there like normal. Not sure why it's not showing in your case though.
