Factory screen protector - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

I think to see a factory screen protector on my p20 pro. It takes a lot of dirt and fingerprints... Do you think its possible to remove it and replace with a glass screen protector?

Searching with Google and found nothing...

Just put it off. It's just a foil nothing special.

Mines peeling at the bottom already, have a glass one on order to arrive today so will leave on till that has turned up than will be ripping it off.

I have the P20 and after seeing one in flesh at the local Vodafone store which had the factory fitted screen protector removed I've quickly decided to ditch mine. I'm convinced the screen has a good oleophobic layer applied as it doesn't smudge easily and is very easy to wipe. I'd definitely recommend to take it off.

I've read that the screen itself does NOT have an oleophobic coating, so a protector is a must

Hi to all,
i'm still waiting to found a decent tempered glass for my new p20 pro.
Actually there is something on the web but nothing really "special" on the market, for now.
Got some advices ?
Thanks

just realised mine had a screen protector on - thought it was just the standard plastic cover you get on new devices

Can you share the source please?
I'm unable to post external links, check the wifihifi.ca review:
"The P20 has a 5.8-inch LCD (2,244x1,090) with an 18:7:9 aspect ratio. The P20 Pro has a 6.1-inch OLED display with the same resolution and aspect ratio as its smaller sibling. It's also worth noting that both screens have oleophobic coating, a common feature on smartphone screens to ward off oils and fingerprints. The P10 and P10 Plus are unusual in that they didn't, so Huawei chose to include a screen protector with each of those devices."
Obviously I cannot guarantee the source is Huawei or the reviewer.
All I was trying to say was the screen is less fingerprint prone than with the factory fitted screen protector (which is rubbish) and I know that for fact. I was not able to find any real life user experience on the web, so thought I'd share mine.

i wouldn't trust whathifi as the uk site reports that Netflix works in HDR on the P20 Pro when infact it doesn't

Finger Print / Home button Screen Protector (amazon.co.uk)

OK chaps, after the reports of the Home Button being plastic (I am pretty sure it is) I asked ScreenKnight, one of the suppliers on amazon.co.uk if they would produce a screen protector for it along with some to protect the very scratch prone heart rate sensor/flash and the outer part of the camera lens. Well they kindly obliged...
I have not received mine yet as am currently working away until the weekend but will post a review once I have them in hand and applied. However I cannot see it hurting to add that little bit more protection.
I did test the fingerprint sensor with a screen protector over it (prior to my request) and it worked fine but you may need to re-train a finger or two.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01CXHMUVO
Hope this helps a few!
Camera protectors sound good in theory, after all who wants the cover for the camera lens to end up scratched or cracked? However, they almost always end up in a degraded image quality. I would be interested in protecting the home button though, providing the protection doesn't interfere with print reading. Look forward to the review.
I did request that there is a hole for the lens, so only protects the outer part, I would never use a protector that covered the whole leans part.... but will report back once home at the weekend..
Also, from tests out there the camera is very scratch resistant anyway
I wonder how much money would the screen protectors cost, let alone the skill you would need to put these on perfect. I know I could do it, just worried about the rest who have a hard time putting on a screen protector!
I think putting these on will be very easy tbh, just line up one end, no room for bubbles etc. Let's hope I am not eating my own words soon lol
Should get mine tomorrow so we will see
I suppose the protector on the home button would be useful for raising it a little when a screen protector is applied to the screen.

Looking at my S6E button (not a single mark anywhere else on the phone) and some of the comments about the S7E button on here then I would say yes but it is all relative right!

no its fine wasnt a lot of money and i would have ordered it if i had seen it anyway. not blaming you in the slightest mate. if you have better luck i may try again as may have done something wrong will wait for your attempt first though
i can confirme it is horrible:
putting it on is easy, quality is horrible and most for the home button it is way too thick and fingerprint is unusable. removing it also leaves residue, worth a try for few bucks
Don't buy this.. I bought it and scratched the heart rate monitor trying to put it on. I have a ultimate shields camera covers. It came with the full body screen protector and it's brilliant. The camera protector has a hole for the sensor area so no loss in image quality.

My HRM got scracthed on day 1. I didn't realize it was cheap plastic so when brushing it off with one of my DSLR lens brushes it got scratched. I was surprised to say the least, but i never use it, nor do I even remember it being there so it doesn't matter to me.
Did anybody of you try on home button some liquid protector like wowfixit for example?

The fact that lots of screen protectors are available for H7 (the phone is over 1 year old) doesn't have a single thing to do with availability of screen protectors for H8. Also screens are different so one doesn't fit the other.
There is no logic in your argument so your post had to be random.
...You will be able to find plenty of screen protectors online that fit, don't worry. Always buy one designed for your phone...
i bought honor 7 lite today and it has stock screen guard thingy, wont take off because i never get screen protector on point

How to remove finger print impressions on 3T display

Seeing quite a much finger and other hand impressions on the 3T display, which i have not expected on the flagship device. Oneplus3T/3 does not come with Oleophobic coating? if doesn't can we free of prints applying the oneplus curved or noncurved screen guards? Anyone feel the same?
And out of the box received a phone with some unknown screen guard. I doubt the prints are because of this? Anyone removed this and experienced the phone without the guard? If so hows the default display, attracting prints or not?
Um... you do realize that the phone comes with a plastic screen protector pre-installed right? That preapplied one doesn't have oleophobic coating on it. Remove it and you should be good.

I removed mine after a day and I'm pretty sure the 3T comes with a really bad oleophobic coating. Compared to my other phones the 3T gets alot dirtier, alot faster than my other devices.
Anyone feeling the same way?

I wash my hand more than enough. That's not the issue. I just think it's sad the coating on this phone seems much worse than on other, but I really like the phone, so it's not like I'm gonna change it out.

And I have 5 other phones and 3 tablets, and all of them handled smudges and fingerprints better. That's why I'm asking.
And you can clearly see (on my phone) that up by the top, around the speaker, there are pretty much no fingerprints or smudges. And that's the only part where the screen protector that came with the phone didn't cover the screen.

I did it a couple of hours ago and I can really tell a difference. I tried it yesterday on my old Nexus 5 and had some trouble for the wax to stick on the surface of my Nexus 5. I was thinking it would be the same on my Oneplus, but interesting enough it stuck there really well. I guess that might just be because the lack of oleophobic coating on the Oneplus.. Either way it's better now, so you should try it if you have the chance

Holy Crap, thank you so much for catching my grammatical error! I appreciate you! ??
I bought two of these back in March. Finally got around to taking off my Whitestone dome and trying these out. First thing first these are a definitely thinner than the dome. I am glad I bought two of them. The first one cracked in the edge during installation. Do not apply too much pressure on the edges. The second one went in smoothly. Just had to massage some of the bubbles out. The bad thing about this screen protector is the black bar down the edges. It takes up some screen real estate.
Only Dome Works and it's full adhesive and the best out there , it's on my S9 Plus for over 2 months and no issues with the Dome Glass best ever.

Had to make the picture with my old 1+1 but better than nothing.. It covers the whole screen, there's only a small cutout that fits the camera perfectly. I really love that protector especially because they give you a plastic frame with it. With this frame it's super easy to position the protector perfectly on the screen.
Edit: Has your case also some small gaps at the lock button and on the same height on the other side like you can see on my picture?
