Hi,
some months ago I heard that my note 8 will not support twrp or/and odin anymore if I install a update. Is that true or is this only for specific devices?
I need a answer because I'm about to press the Download&Install button : P I'm getting spammed with this update notification and I can't prevent it from getting displayed every 2hours.
No, I don't want to root it or install custom rom... not for now, maybe in the feature when I have like 1 1/2 Year warranty left ^^
Yeah, that's why there's a "Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Guides, News & Discussion" section !

I know this has kinda been asked before, but it got misinterpreted as Samsung Pay and it was ages ago. I was just wondering: Has anyone actually got Android Pay and a Note 7 custom rom working together? It's kinda a major feature for me, but the Note 7 roms I've tried all say its invalid. However, the Note 7 roms are so dam good and whenever I go back I miss the features from the Note 7
Pls help
Unfortunately there isn't a way to use Android Pay with ANY custom roms that are based on Note 7 (from my experience).
On a Note 5 based custom rom or stock rooted rom I am able to use Android Pay with no issues. But the only root related issues are Snapchat where I have to remove root before logging in, then re-rooting.
What root and Xposed Setup are note 9 960F Dual sim users using ? Oreo+Root+Xposed OR Pie+Root+EdXposed.
I managed to get root , magisk , edxposed working on Pie On March Security Patch. But the system became unstable after i restored titanium backup data restore. The SystemUI stopped responding frequently and after some troubleshooting i was not able to find a solution.I managed to use a stable system for a brief period of time and it wasnt impressive at all.
The second problem i faced is listed here (unable to setup IRIS,Fingerprint lock)
After a full odin flash , root , I failed in replicating root and magisk due to various problems like : unofficial binaries, etc.
I am thinking of sticking with Oneplus5T and selling the Note 9 . Oneplus speed and setup is addictive. I can live with the inferior hardware.
Before the switch i am thinking of trying root+xposed setup on oreo
How did you go about this? Using the old root methods listed in here? Once you have achieved installation of TWRP, you would be far safer to just flash one of the various custom roms with a good rep and go from there.
Are you on Snapdragon or Xynos?

I did not buy note 9 for using it with custom rom. Custom rom has its own set of problems. The biggest jolt would be a reduced camera app. My old phone would be better than a custom rom

He prob on 960F as 960U does not have root. Would be nice to specify what devices so people are not jumping in here thinking this is snapdragon.

After using Note 9 for a brief period of time , i understood samsung devices are not for me. My last Samsung device was note 4 . The dual version performed horribly with 16gb memory. I can live with the inferior hardware of OP5T for now and will probably upgrade it with OP7. Oneplus opmtization is the best and its addictive. Also on note 9 i missed "Island " Android for work support. Even with all the modification i have on my OP5T its super fast.
Hi guys,
I'm running android 9 ui 1.0 with root on my note9 n960f Exynos and want to update to android 10 ui 2.5.. And i'll be honest with everything that's gone on last year, with a 2 month stint in hospital - due to having covid and then with all the bull**** with job etc.. I not 100% in thinking I can remember what to do - so thought ask first. I was going to try Official Lineage CFW but if anyone suggest anything else(happy to check) Also can someone point me to correctly updating phone, is it flash stock 10 ui 2.5 first then the CFW or can I go straight to CFW.. Sorry for such a Derp question, but I been told I can update straight from 9 but hear says " OVER FULLY STOCK ANDROID 10 FIRMWARE " so guessing that right ! and also that with no root then? Sorry guys, but my note 9 my baby till maybe a Note 20 Ultra when contact out in 8 months. and on top of everything else - I don't want a bricked phone ;( Any help most welcome guys .. many thanks !!

So you are running a rooted custom rom now?
Technically you should be able to install a new custom rom ... but ... best to check the rom thread of the new custom rom you want to flash.
And stick to the recommended installation method. Usually in one of the first posts of that thread.

Only you can answer this question, as every user has different needs and preferences.
Here you can check for available custom roms:
Galaxy Note 4 Android Development (Exynos)
Android development for the Exynos version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4
forum.xda-developers.com
Many users like LineageOS.
I like LineageOS with android 11, incredible but true
how do i find FLOKOROM for samsung note 4 trite snapdragon, its sposed to be in telegram group, it didnt come up on search. its sposed to be stable working rom, i just need a stable rom that works with modern apps
i bought an expensive new fone, xiomi, and find no permenant on notification alert on it. Note 4 better than modern fones in some respects

很抱歉我之前只用過一鍵刷機我所謂的電腦分區沒概念我想問你是要下載Android SDK還是直接用windows自帶的ADB調試橋就可以了
Is it necessary before flashing root What about my device? I want to experiment first with another old phone of mine Practice how to flash The phone model I am using is HTC Desire 12 Are there any friends in the forum willing to take the time How about teaching me the process of flashing the machine in real time?
