So initially I was having trouble getting it to re-root with qemu, and eventually I did however get it rooted again. I have root access and everything is fine other than the fact that I can no longer open the Google play store. I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled. Im getting irritated, I have followed these boards since September without needing to ask for help but also never had an issue with my kindle fire hd 7'' up until that last sabotaging that amazon decided to do. Perhaps someone with the same problem can benefit also if we can figure it out because I noticed someone with a similar issue but didn't want to hijack the thread. Thanks in advance :good:
I am setting up two Nexus 7's I purchased for my kids and receiving mixed results.
1) Both tablets connected to wifi fine.
2) Both tabets completed the system update without a problem and are running kernel version 3.1.10-g22b4fcd, Build number JOP40D.
However, when I go to the play store to update apps,
Tablet A lists all the apps INSTALLED and I was able to update several apps
Tablet B does not show a single app under the tab INSTALLED.
I called Google support and they are telling me it could take a day for this screen to udpate. After I hung up the phone, I noticed that the back of the problem tablet appears to once had a white sticker near the SN sticker while the working tablet does not have this.
These are Christmas gifts and I am debating on returning the problem tablet for a replacement. Does anyone have words of wisdom they can share with me? Am I over-reacting?
Appreciate the help.
So its been on overnight and still no apps are listing. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this. I've already tried a factory reset and the results are the same.

Go under settings apps and find the play store clear data cache and everything in there. Then open play store and see if it fixes it. I never heard this problem but this is how we fixed some ROMs on the bolt when the play satire would say error can't download the selected app. So worth a try and its weird that Google said it could take days. I think I would call back and demand to talk to someone higher on the food chain. Hope this works as would suck not having a gift working on Xmas morning.

Edit: To mod: If possible, please move this thread to a non device specific subforum, as people with different devices are experiencing the same problem.
So today I decided to factory reset my HTC One, and install back some applications I had previously.
However, after the factory reset I am unable to either install or update any application, with the Google Play Store returning: ""{app}" could not be downloaded due to an error. (403)".
I've been looking around a bit and have seen quite some others with this issue, however no solutions have worked for me. What I've tried:
Logged into Hangouts and confirmed mobile number.
Removed Google account in settings --> Go to Apps>All> and force stop Google Play Store, Google Service Framework and Download Manager, then clear cache and data for each --> Added back Google account --> Restarted device (without launching Google Play Store).
Using a new gmail account.
Clearing Proxy: I've looked in my Wi-Fi and APN Settings, both of which have no proxy set to begin wit.
Using 3G instead of Wi-Fi.
Another factory reset (repeated other steps afterwards).
Installing apps onto my device from my PC (it won't attempt to install them on the phone).
Please note my phone is not rooted and I'm not planning on rooting my phone any time soon.
Thanks in advance,

Interesting, this is happening to me also after a factory reset of my HTC One. Tried all of the above, my phone too is not rooted however the bootloader is unlocked.

Yeah I've encountered quite some threads of people having this problem with the HTC One, however their solutions have not worked for me. Hoping someone can bring an answer to this thread
Yea it just seems unusual that it has happened to us pretty much at the same time under the same circumstances, maybe there is some issue with the store rather than our devices, I hope so!
Having exactly the same problem, tried everything. Even got a new handset because of the original issue which caused me to perform the factory reset. Maybe a problem with Google Play?
Hey guys!
I did a factory reset on my LG Swift L9 today
and also can't download any app from Google Play
due to 403. It may not be related to HTC One only.

I've got a new Nexus 5 delivered to me hours ago, first time using it and i can confirm the same sadly, hopefully it will be resolved soon !
What would be the quickest way to alert a mod so that the thread can be moved to a non device specific forum?
Hi all,
Picked up a Nexus 7 today - it was initially loaded with an old build of Android (Blue connectivity bars not white etc) and everything seemed to be working fine. Notification popped up for me to install the latest version, so I stopped what I was doing, got it installed and I'm now stuck with the same 403 errors as everyone else.
Looks to me like a Play Store issue but damn infuriating seeing as I can't even put any basic apps on my shiny new Nexus.
Noticed on another forum earlier that someone was having the same issue, and a guy responded saying he'd returned his Galaxy Tab to the store it came from today (Curry's, I think?) and after the staff there contacted Samsung - they were told that it was an issue with the Play Store. No obvious citations of course, but seems pretty legit what with everything else going on.
And now we wait...

I changed the title and inserted a request in the first post, hope it'll get noticed faster this way by a moderator
(Not so) sorry for double post.
I just tried again, without making any changes to my phone, and I just downloaded 3 different apps (2 I had previously, 1 new one).
Need a confirmation if the problem is solved for other people (with different devices) before I request a close.
Yeah, it works for me too now!

Nope, still 403'ing over here. But I'll keep checking in case it's gradually being fixed.
Still getting errors here too.
403 =/
I'm glad it's not just me.
I tried resetting/clearing everything thinking it was my phone cos I just recently rooted and flashed this brand spanking new HTC One (it was a replacement for my broken HTC One that had a working store :crying, until I went ahead and Googled this annoying error.
Seems like it's a problem on the Google end! =/
Get same error, tried RUU reset and ViperOne ROM.
Still 403 error! Very annoying
Spent 2 hours or so messing installing cyanogen on my new nexus and thought I'd ****ed up. Then googled it. I can believe it, talk about bad timing. lol
Looks like we are not alone...

Finally managed to update to 21s today and have both Sims working at 3G+ speed simultaneously.
Since the update and reinstall I see all of my paid apps are listed as if they have not been previously purchased?
Any ideas why this would have happened, and how to resolve?
Well, I'm not sure what resolved the problem but all of my paid apps are now showing up correctly.
I updated my phone with the latest Play Store and that didn't work.
Rebooted about 5 times and that didn't work...
Noticed that none of the installed apps showed up for updating after the ROM upgrade, eventually they appeared in the list and after about 3 hours the paid apps showed up!
Hi everyone, has anyone encountered problems updating or downloading apps through the google play store? Mine doesn't download or update apps for some reason. It stuck on "downloading". My phone is tencent version flashed/fingerprint WW, software version 1907.33. I'm wondering updating to 1907.35 will solve this problem or is it just Google Play app?
I've tried clearing the cache and reinstall but doesn't solve the problem.
Asus ROG Phone 2
Yes unfortunately I have tried every suggestion know to man to resolve the Google Play Store Stopped Working issue and nothing worked. I factory reset the phone 3 times, had the bios and firmware flashed and nothing worked. I ended up returning the device for a full refund through Amazon. My best advice is run. Something in the software is corrupt.
Mine got stuck aswell. It would download half or less of the app and then hangs stuck. But I managed to fix my problem by running the mobile manager and ran both RAM cleaning and cache. After that Google play store worked again.
Is this only with the tenchen version or even on the global Strix version to?
So far, no problems found with Google Play and I have the tencent version too, the only difference I see between yours and mine is the fingerprint version which is CN
Not sure if it's the same issue, but since android 9 on thie and another phone, I've intermittently had the same problem.
It seems to be related to the play store wanting to update itself, and for some reason with my disabling of play books, docs etc, and with my withdrawing of certain permissions from some of the gapps it just wouldn't do it.
Try reenabling any stock gapps which have been disabled, and in the reset options in settings, select "reset app preferences". After that, reboot your phone.
That's worked for me in similar situations previously.
