I am trying to connect to vpn in Oreo BTU UK but i cant click OK as nothing happens and upon checking app permission there is nothing there its like they forgot to add full set of permission in the BTU version of Oreo.
Can anyone else connect to vpn networks in BTU Oreo ?
If you look at the picture you can see there is a OK and a Cancel button and Ok dont work but Cancel however works fine.
I have tried 2 vpn apps now and its the same issue.
Can someone please try and let me know if its just me or is this a Oreo but ?
Btw i am on stock Rom.

We'll, I'm on Oreo and on stock, not rooted.
I have Adguard vpn setup and if i
check Adguard app info it states
"not allowed"..... yet Adguard vpn set up
and working fine.
Most probably a Oreo issue
See screenshots
A VPN will need the phone permission, at least, as it is transmitting information to/from the internet.
I have an unbranded 950F from Australia and it works well though I tend to turn on/off the VPN manually...

Well i am not sure how adguard works but nord vpn needs permission to create vpn on phone and without me clicking Ok it wont work and even by tapping on OK 10 times nothing happens so i always end up tapping cancel.
not sure why this is.

Yes, another point is, that i also had Adguard vpn
request (same as your screenshot no 4) which i granted.
Point is that I'm just trying to help point similar issues out that might help.?
post note
if you look at my screenshots Adguard app info,
it says premission "blocked"
Then if you look at my screenshot list(previous post) of premissions , i did not grant any of them.? Yet they listed?
Only premission/toggle i can grant is "storage"
However as stated above, my app info says premission block.?
So yes I'm also getting more confused
with this.
Good luck

Oh well back to nougat I gues. Seems like Google keeps screwing up more then bringing good. Kinda like the move from kit Kat when all of a sudden moving files to and from ext had been banned.
I hate when they choose what we can and cannot do on devices we own and paid for.
The world needs competition to android other then Icrap where user has full freedom.

Well I've searched around this forum and found that there wasn't a thread about firewall apps.
My question is: Which app have you tried and found that it works perfectly for you?
My main goal here is to limit some apps from using up my mb's when I'm away from my wifi.
So which app do you guys recommend?
P.S. obviously this might require root which isn't a problem.
A firewall for a phone ? ? Seriously.... It's as useless like many fake antivirus for phones.... Just not install useless and strange apps from other sites, and don't clic on EV every link you receive

Umm...if it wasn't clear from the post, what I meant by firewall is an app that'll prevent installed apps from using up my internet data bundle.
A lot of cariers, including mine, don't offer cheap unlimited data bundles and, hence, I have a need to stop certain apps from accessing the internet when not on wifi.
My question has nothing to do with security.
FW
I'm using the FireWall Plus
And I'm quite happy with it... You can choose if you want block/allow Data/Wifi ... one or both :good:

Well I gave Firewall Plus a fair day's trial, for the most part, it works nicely.
But google now and google chrome seem to be blocked even though they are white listed in the app which is weird. Do I need to check something else for them to work?
Btw, I know the app was set up properly since other apps such as whatsapp to receive Internet while others like facebook don't.

You can choose if you want black list or white list...
Personally I use black list... so I check GSM or Wifi or both, click to "Save rules" in the top menu and it works... I never had any trouble with it
I might be something "deeper" of app networking... I would suggest to report it to coders of FP.
I would highly recommend DroidWall...best ever..
Hi guys,
Just want to let you know an easiest way to check if your Note7 is safe or it must be replaced through the Note7 Safety Recall program.
Just use the Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app, open the 'Other Tools' menu, and select 'Note7 Recall Check' button to check.
You can check using the device's IMEI or S/N.
Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
Or just use Samsung+...the built in samsung tech support
That doesn't work for me. I get an error.

Yes, I've tested it few days ago and it works as expected,
but today, sometimes Samsung site requires the CAPTCHA, that can make it becomes useless.
Sorry about that. You can try it again. If it happens frequently, I will consider to remove it from the app...

It looks like that the server very rarely ask for a CAPTCHA.
So you can use it as expected.
Btw, anyone has a Note7 that's out of this recall program?
Dear all,
I know so many of you have been suffering from this issue of H+ not working as it should on Oneplus 5, I myself have suffered a lot from that until I have started using "AdGuard Pro."
I would suggest you give it a try and report back.
Note that I am not making any marketing for this app, I just share the information with you as I know many have this H+ issue.
I am currently using OOS 4.5.13 with no mods at all.
I have also noticed my speed has almost doubled on H+ now.
I hope that I am not just lucky, I hope it works for you as well.

AdGuard. Here's the link https://www.google.ht/url?sa=t&sour...0Q5YQBCDgwAA&usg=AOvVaw0iw7jR6tG8_GujChWEPpwi
Missleading. PlayStore version of AdGuard are restricted to only Yandex Browser and Samsung Internet browser. Full version cannot be downloaded from PlayStore (adblockers are restricted by Google).
Full version is available at adguard.com
Sounds like you have DNS issues.
Have you tried one of the DNS changers to see if it fixes it? Google's is ok
Somehow with the help of a dns changer app i'm not facing any h+ issues
I hope that this is the solution

I'm testing, I'll tell you if it works
And I want to add that the common point between adguard and the "DNS changer " app is that those two apps create a local VPN connection :see the "key" symbol in my screen shot. It means that a local VPN connection is running.
Maybe it means that having a local VPN running solves the issue with 3g/H+

Which server should I choose to connect? google?
And which settings did you explicitly change in that app?
I've been trying to install AdHell 2, but to do so I need to enable Device Administrator for it. However, when I go to do this and press the "activate" button, it just does nothing. Doesn't respond in any way.
Out of curiosity I went into Settings > Lock screen & security > Other security settings > Device administrators, to see if I could enable it for any other apps, and I couldn't.
So, what's preventing me from enabling this?
Thanks
I have exactly the same problem in my S7 Edge, I guess it has to do something with the firmware version we are using.
If someone finds a solution I will appreciate it

It was actually a theming app that was preventing me from pressing it, for whatever reason. I disabled my apps one by one until I found the one causing it.
So I've read up recently that this has been a problem on some Mi 11 units. Never thought it could happen to me. Using stable miui.eu roms, I just restarted my phone ( it was working perfectly fine before restarting then upon restart I can't turn on my Wifi. I've read that this is hardware issue due to overheating but I'm still hoping for a software fix before claiming warranty. Any one else encountered this before?
Try reflashing together with fromating data....
If that doesnt work last bet will be flash stock and claim warranty
First option:
Open Your Youtube App
Login with your Gmail account
Simply on the right-hand side where the profile icon is displaying.
Then Click on Setting - History and privacy option - click on Manage all activity - After clicking on above-left side - Click on manage Ads Setting.
You will see the Ad personalization option - just off the Ad personalization is OFF.

I've already had a screen replacement by myself. So, i had to open the device. For that reason, I dont think any warranty will be granted and sending a battery powered device outside my country is quite a hassle. Ill continue using the device with mobile data.
If only Bluetooth tethering could provide higher internet speed. It would have been a life saviour.
