Hello everyone,i have a audio problem on my Galaxy Mini 2 and i'm wondering which could be the real problem behind it.I'll try to explain everything and make it as short as possible:
I bought a Mini 2 a month ago and after like 2 weeks i noticed a audio problem.Be it in games or music player, sometimes (it appears randomly) the sound stops for like half of a second and i think it also makes some kind of noise during that time (noticed that noise today).
I went to the customer support center and they reinstalled the software and i got it back in 2 days...after testing it for a while...i noticed that the problem still occurs,so i went back to the support center...this time they said they'll check out the hardware..the support guy to which i talked said that the problem might be because :
1. I installed alot of applications (had alot of them last time, but after the software reinstall i reinstalled from google play less applications than before...i have like 28 installed now, nothing fancy, only some games and normal applications ,my phone not being rooted yet)
2. He said that low end smartphones like Galaxy Mini 2 ,upon installing applications, will start losing performance, etc
3.He said that the background applications could be the ones doing this
The thing is that i don't believe anything of what he said...i mean...i know that Mini 2 is a low end device, but still it's pretty decent,so it should support a large number of applications. Regarding nr 2 sentence,i know phones start to lose perfomance by time, but seriously, only after like 2 weeks? Yeah right >.< and even if it would start to lower performance, would it really lower it that much to make the phone sounds/music not play properly? And regarding nr 3,i don't have too many applications in the background and the processor is mostly on 0% when the phone is idle (checked it with a google play CPU application). Also the music player consumes 0%.
In the end, they took the phone again and said that they will check things out and i'll have it back in minimum 4 days.
What do you guys think? What could be the problem causing this? I'd appreciate an oppinion.
Thank you in advance.
From my experience , some applications can cause this problem . like for example with notifications that should play a sound . An example I frequently encounter is the Yahoo Messenger or the Facebook app . Every time I'm listenning to music and someone sents me a message , the notification comes into action and while it should play the sound it has to , it mutes my sound in exchange .
Uf that's not the case , a list with all your apps would be helpful .
And don't worry about Mini 2's specs , that's not the problem . It can swallow a lot of multitasking , allthough from my experience it hick-ups in some games (fps lag but no audio problems like the one you're talking about) .

I don't think it's a notification problem because i only activate my data synchronizer and internet (using wifi most of the time) only when i'm using them.I have Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger installed, but the sound problem occurs even when all the internet options are turned off.
Here are the applications that were installed on the phone : Yahoo Mail/Messenger, Manga Searcher, Infinite Anime Gallery, RinRin Bench, MikuMikuBench, Rin Clock Widget, Firefox, KeepSafe, Adobe Air, Anime Radio Online (this one was added after the problem was noticed), Barcode Scanner, Horoscope, Japanese Translator, Japanese Dictionary (JED), Kanji Recognizer, Meme Generator, Office Suite Viewer, Picasso, Multipicture live wallpaper.
Games: Talking Tom, Eternal Legacy, Nyan Cat Lost in Space, Angry Birds, 3D Hunting Alaskan Hunt Plus, Castle Master 3D, Fruit Ninja, Trigger Knight
That's about all that i had in my smartphone.
Also maybe i should add that i don't usually multitask,i mostly use one application at a time.

many of these apps autorun and consume your ram ALL the time
i have a feeling that keepsafe is causing the problems because from my experience they dont do anything good
anyway try to set autorun of every USER app to off with this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seasmind.android.gmappmgr&hl=en
If these applications are the cause, then it means i'm not allowed to install anything ? I mean..most of them are typical applications, nothing that is such a big consumer like antivirus or other stuff...a phone should work fine with those kind of applications...also my RAM is usually 220-250MB out of total of 398 MB,so i'm not lacking it.
My phone is not rooted so can't try to set autorun as you said Also it's currently sent to the customer support center for repairs.
And Keepsafe could be causing it? Damn...it's a nice application

Yeah it's an application used to hide pictures,i don't have any applications like antiviruses etc installed, only what i listed above, mainly typical stuff (drawing application, horoscope, messenger, etc) and some games.
I also e-mailed Samsung about this problem and their solution was to try reset the phone, but since i already had it re-softwared, i guess that wouldn't solve the problem.

The apps shouldn't be the problem then ...
What's the status of your phone ? Rooted ? Custom CWM ? Custom Kernel ? Overclocked ? Also , are you using the stock TouchWiz launcher or another one ? Did you try monitoring your RAM to see if the problem is from there ? And finally , are you having any heating issuses ?

The phone isn't rooted,so i don't have custom CWM,neither kernel or neither overclocked.Yeah i'm using stock TouchWiz launcher.I didn't see any unusual behavior in the RAM,it loads up like 220-250 MB out of 398 MB and the applications using are just the typical stuff,Yahoo Mail,Messenger, system stuff Rin Voice Clock Widget and Multilive Wallpaper.
And no heating issues as well, phone is only warming up when i use the internet or play games, but it's not heating, only becoming warm.

Got the phone back from customer support yesterday and they said they couldn't find the problem (i kind of knew this would happen because,it randomly appears, for example it can work without problem for 3 hours and then for the next 3 hours it can go crazy)
So i'm back from where i started...I reinstalled some of the applications that i had before(took out those which i was thinking that might be causing the problem and also i wasn't using them alot).Probably a bad idea to reinstall before testing, but i'm not really sure it's from the applications because other people have no problem on those applications and also they're typical applications, nothing special.
Also i only installed them and i didn't run any of them yet and so i have none of them configured and none of them in background (i usually have 4 app running in background when they're closed : Yahoo Mail,Messenger,Multilive Wallpaper and Rin Clock Widget).
Regarding the Multilive Wallpaper application...as mentioned above,i only installed the applications and didn't run them yet....and i discovered that i still have the problem after installing apps on the phone. Are there cases when you install an application and even if you don't run them, they could cause problems?

Some applications run in background even if you don't see them . Google Maps for example does that , the Google Play updater , Y! Messenger too I think . You can stop them but they'll automatically start back . That's because they are services that need to e on constantly for updates , even if the internet is on or not .
Try to install GO Launcher EX , along with GO Power Manager and GO Task Manager . I am using those two things , and by clicking only 2 buttons on my homescreen , I can get to only 150MB used RAM AND manage to close some apps running in the background .
I don't think GO Launcher EX is needed to install the other two tho' , so first try them alone . But if you need a fast and stylish launcher , well yea xD Try GO Launcher EX too .
What's with the mandatory 128MB update when you first boot the phone?
This thing runs HOT - 15 minutes and the back top of the phone is way warmer than my N4. Can't wait for devs to get kernel control apps going.......
GPS lock is FAAASSST. That was one of things I cared about. Much quicker than the N4.
LTE speed/signal seems low for where I am - map says I should be getting full connection (Denver area). But it works!
Volume is PITYFUL even at full! Hoping some FauxSound magic on this in the future.
Play Store Update Issues:
I have about 9 play store updates (Youtube, Google Earth, Twitter, TrustGo Antivirus) that all say 'update', but the store won't update them. It shows as downloading then nothing happens.
I'll call Google and ask about this, but clearly a bug!
I believe I've had that issue with apps not updating in the past...
I *think* I fixed it by deleting the Google Play data/cache.

Thanks for the reply
UPDATE:
A quick power down and reboot, and apps are updating just fine.
Sorry for the false alarm on the play store stuff.
The thing I found annoying was that it was auto installing apps I had installed across both my n4 and n7. I do understand that it was just looking at my account and installing the aggregate of installed apps. When I tried to remove them it tried to auto install the apps I didn't want on my phone TWICE more. It was like whack-a-mole.
Finally seems to have conceded that I actually do know which Apps I want on my phone..
