Hi friends. I have mi 5x from aliexpress. Seller has flashed some custom mi A1 rom into it. I was waitiong for ota upgrade but never happened. Thinking that it is official A1 rom i flashed gcam for a1 and phone died. I cant turn it back on. When usb cable plugged in phone just vibrate evey 2 seconds and led is blinking. I have tried many versions of miflash and many roms but nothing works. No fastboot so i can only connect phone via edl pins. But when trying to flash i have problem with hello packet and error happens. Please help me. What else i can do?

Did you manage to find any solution?? I have the same problem!
i did tryied edl mode and just black screen does shows. what should i do ? my phone either doesn not vibrate when connect to charge

Hello everyone, I bought mi xiaomi mi5 and yesterday it turned of and never wake up.
I can't enter in fastboot or recovery but my PC can detect it.
There is something to recover my phone without send it to warranty?

I have the same problem. My Mi5 has suddenly dead. No led indicator, screen goes Black. I can enter to fastboot mode, then flash the new rom, but it doesn't solved the problem. My Mi5 is still dead.

have you try using deep flash cable to enter EDL and flash the ROM?
I was able to bring mine back to life by entering EDL using the command "fastboot oem edl". This allowed me to flash the CN dev rom with MiFlash, and i put TWRP and CM13 back on it.

They key seemed to be the specific version of MiFlash, other (newer?) versions kept giving me errors during the flashing process.
I have the same issue, the method above doesn't help, adb can't see the phone. That's a problem. A computer, device manager doesn,t see the phone, a plug charger as well. I've tried many many times to switch on, after 1000 times it is started
Than I flashed a leastest rom, and ina new rom touch screen doesn't work. So I - stupid - flashed one before. That looked fine, but after work xposed installed it happened again
It happened me with
miui_MI5Global_V8.0.5.0.MAAMIDG_026a414948_6.0.zip (touch screen)
and
miui_MI5Global_V8.1.2.0.MAAMIDI_9fbec19bb6_6.0.zip (bricked)
In both roms I instaled xposed-v85-sdk23-arm64-MIUI-edition-by-SolarWarez-20160609.zip
I've got a feeleing the leastest roms are not comaptible with xposed v.85

Can fastboot see the device? Mine wasn't recognized with adb, but fastboot was working. When screen wasn't working, I had to boot with Vol down and power to get the fastboot to be visible. Vol up and power did nothing - adb couldn't recognize.
Once i did the fastboot oem edl command it showed up as a COM port and I was able to flash roms.

You need to disconnect the battery ( holding 10 seconds will not help )
Open the back cover, remove the screws and the plastic motherboard cover and disconnect the battery flat cable, and connect it back in.
I am having a very strange problem. I use only one pattern to unlock my device. Even TWRP unlocks with that pattern. Yesterday after flashing a custom ROM I restarted the device but the device refused to unlock with this pattern. What to do now?
TWRP is getting unlocked with this same pattern.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks! worked for me!
device was charging at 0.64A but wouldn't start and battery logo showed empty
after disconnecting/reconnecting battery flat cable (small, black cable on the left side) device started and held a charge of 60%
have device almost 1y so not bad for a first time remove and reinstall battery action
HI I bought my phone 6 months ago lately I was so bored with android one so I decided to go for miui 10 so I flashed it using mi flash it went sucessful.
after restarting my device it got stuck at mi logo so I went to fastboot mode but no usb is detected to my pc so I can‘t go to edl
I tried so many solutions the last one was dissemble the device but I‘m just afraid of doing that
if anyone encountered this problem plz tell me what to do

yes it‘s charging but when I connect it in fastboot mode it shows nothing even in miflash no device is connected I think I hard brick my phone .

Solved opened phone myself went to edl and it works again
i did try to install miui on my mi a2 using miflash but i got a error while flashing
my phone got bootloop and i can't go to bootfast
i did open the phone and put in EDL mode with the pin test
i tryed to install the stock rom and i got sucess
but my mi a2 wont turn on
i put the charger and the led notification dont work
i put on pc and isn't detected
i put in a turbo charger and still the problem
but when i put in EDL mode using the pin test the pc recognizes the phone

I've got my new Mi 9 and I was totally happy with it. But there is this problem which occurred the second day of having it. I was in work, taking some pictures, then put the phone in pocked and everything was totally perfect. About a half hour later I wanted to check something and suddenly there was only a black screen. I tried waking it up by button, putting it on a charger, connecting to the PC. Nothing helps. I don't see anything even when I try to reboot the phone or do the fastboot or go into the recovery menu. When I push the display in a place where the fingerprint scanner is it vibrates, on charger the LED is shining.
Does somebody know what should I try or how should I solve this problem?

We are in a state called "hard brick".
You need to get your phone into "EDL mode"(Google will show you how to get there), when it gets recognized by you PC as "QDLoader 9008" device, you are ready to go.
Normally you would flash a fastboot image or programmer via Qfil, unfortunately for Xiaomi devices, you need to authorize yourself as a Xiaomi developer before you can flash...So no chance for one of us.
There are some guys out there, willing to login with their account via Teamviewer on your Pc so you can flash the image (will cost ~$15)
Search the web for "Xiaomi EDL unbrick" or "authorized xiaomi account" and you will find what ou are looking for.

Sorry, I had no trouble with the camera
I have the same issue with my mi 9 SE. I had it for 6 months and one day, while sitting on my table I got a message and when I tried to unlock the screen remained totally black. All the rest is exactly as you described. I can even use it via sync on my car but I cannot access it from my computer. Not able to backup or even do a factory reset. Were you able to solve it?
I have had the same problem, my fix didnt involve anything software based - i took the back panel off, disconnected wireless charger, disconnected battery connector to motherboard, plugged in charger and attempted to power on a few times, left the battery disconnected for a while and then plugged battery in and left plugged in charging and it sprang to life after a few minutes charging.
This could've just been my luck but it might also work for others.
Hello, I just bought an edl cable like THIS and i dont know how to use it properly. I tried yo reach the seller but he didn't reply me at all... I did some research around the web and I just tried the normal method but it doesn't work:
Boot into fasboot mode, connect the edl cable, press and hold power until it starts restarting (when the screen turns black) and then quick press the cable's switch and hold until the phone goes into edl mode. It doesn't work.
By the way I'am trying this in my Xiaomi Mi5 (and i tried this with a Mi Mix 2 and another Mi5 and I got the same result). As far as I read, not all phones supports the deepflash cable... I am trying this because the test point method doesn't work in this mi5 phone, probably bad PCB I don't know (but i does work in my other Mi5).
am I using it correctly? :S
Deepcable EDL is blocked since MIUI 8.
Now the only way to get into EDL mode is testpoint method.
the last boot version from miui doesnt work the deep flash cable because xiaomi disabled it to avoid fake china roms , so the only way its to testpoint or downgrade the bootloader
