Hello everyone
I just recently got a Z3C and parts to fix it up (had a broken screen).
I just finnished putting it together (partly) but the thing is that the microphone only works on hands free mode (speaker mode).
If I am not mistaken, there are two different microphones that are used.
What I was wondering is, if there is a way to force the use of the working microphone?
Thanks for any tips
Cheers!

Hi to all. Unfortunately the main mic of my nexus one is broke. But I discovered that the camera mic works. I was wondering if there is a way to set camera mic as main mic.
Yhank you
Happend to me couple times that mic stoped working and after like 4 reboots it came back again. I've already started to google for how-to replace but it came to life by it self, hopefully you will be lucky enought too.
I seem to have a problem when using the speakerphone. I can't be heard on the other end. Regular calls are fine.
I'm using Cyanogenmod 10.1.3. As I understand the phone, the regular microphone is at the bottom edge on the keyboard part of the phone. There's another microphone (noise cancelling?) on the top edge near the power button. The speaker is the slot on the back. Does that have a microphone function too?
I recently replaced the earpiece like so many other people have. Could I have disturbed something near that top mic?
I was wondering if there's a way to test the mic near the power button.
Thanks,
Paul
Hello
I got an I9000. A few days ago I dissasembled the phone to separate the glass from the frame to fix the "home" button.
I was able to remove it without breaking the screen and fixed it. When I assembled everything back together I noticed that the earphone doesn't work and I can't hear what the other person says in a call. If I enable hands free it works well (uses the main speaker of the phone) and if I connect headphones to the audio jack it works as well.
Microphone is working fine (using the audio jack or using the phone's microphone).
I tried to replace the earphone-audiojack-light sensor module and it still doesn't work. I tried 2 different ones with no success.
The light sensor / proximity sensor works good as well. So I don't think there's a damage on the motherboard or the socket itself.
According to the I9000 technician manual it says to follow a few checks for this module that I attached on the attachments.
The components it asks to check are:
U207 - IC-CODEC
UCP200 - IC-MODEM
HDC302 - HEADER-BOARD TO BOARD
Surpsingly I am sure those components are used for other features of the phone. For example the IC-Codec must be the audio codec used to play sound. Sound works perfectly on the other speaker and on the audio jack. IC-MODEM is probably the chip that holds the modem.bin firmware of the phone, so if there was a failure with this chip I think I should have no signal, and I do. HDC302, well, could be, I wonder why tho since I've been carefully with this and I have dissasembled this phone a few times already with no issue.
Could you help me? How do the tests indicated in the manual? I only have a multimeter, but not an oscilloscope.
Thank you!
Hello
Seems this is a tough question. Do you know where I could find information? Maybe another forum that it's more into mobile hardware stuff?
Thank you.
Hello
After checking the pins with a multimeter I noticed that the pins 11 and 13 from the earpiece were not in continuity. Replaced the piece (a few times because all of them were broken) and phone is working again.
Thanks.
Hey Everyone!
Few months ago, my phone screen broke. I took it to Moto Services and, after the fix, I noticed that the microphone used in videos recordings was broken. While I can't really fix the phone, I'm thinking about using a working microphone in videos recordings (and others functions) to replace the broken. I want to know what I have to change in the Mixer_Paths.xml file to replace the signal of the broken mic.
Thanks for the help
Hi, since i upgraded to 7.1.1, my microphone does not work. Initially i thought it was a software bug but flashing old stock image does not help. My phone also fell down during this period. So i think my microphone is broken. The other party cannot hear me over calls on speakerphone either. The strange part is, there is no sound/video recording voice too. I was sure there were 3 microphone on this phone.
Anyhow, to the point, can i replace the microphone by normal soldering and use any other phone's spare part? Don't want to spend big on 1.5 + year old phone.
PS : with headphones i can talk normally.
Have the same problem here .. with n solution till now.
