PebbleBits - custom Pebble firmware, online!

If you don't already know it, PebbleBits is a website that allows anyone to build a custom firmware, removing functions you don't need and adding new language sets.
It also allows you to replace strings (so, you can translate your Pebble) and change font!

The developer said that he plans to add Emoji font support in future!
Other languages can be found in the Translation Project, export strings in a .po file and then upload the .po file into the website.

I've been using this with great success. When I first saw the site a few weeks back, I was very leery and cautious with something like this. However, now I find that this site offers the latest firmware (and customized even) just as quickly as pebble.com.

The site does not have a description of the features of this firmware besides characters /fonts... is any other advantage in using this firmware?

I use this custom firmware strictly to remove the 3 built-in watchfaces I don't need.

If Pebble updates the firmware will this website be updated with the new firmware?

You can add additional languages, change fonts, and remote watch faces/apps. I removed the three default watch faces and most of the built in apps so that when I look at the menu before installing anything all I see is Notifications and Settings. Doing this doesn't free up space for more watch faces or apps, but this way you don't have to scroll through things you don't want anyway.

Yes. I've been using PebbleBits firmwares since one of the early 2.0 betas and they usually have an updated version within a day or so of the official release.

This is pretty interesting. I went through and tweaked the firmware to my liking - I then transferred to my device and attempt to load with the Official Beta8 Pebble application as I am already on 2.0. The app launches and i can select "load to Pebble". After selecting that - I simply get "Loading to Pebble" indefinitely.
Has anyone loaded custom FW onto a Pebble already running 2.0? If so, what was your method?

Make sure you select the correct firmware at the top. I'm pretty sure that the new beta with the app store, is not listed yet. I'm using the beta7 and have no issues with the firmware.

Try exiting the app and turning bluetooth off and wait a few seconds. Then turn bluetooth back on and try and load it again

It's there, labeled as 2.0.0. It took me a few tries to get it to work too, but I think that's because of the Android beta 8 app. I've installed a bunch of PebbleBits firmware versions and never had a problem until after I upgraded. It kept hanging on pushing it to the Pebble but it eventually went through,

So with the official Firmware we can remove watchfaces? dint know that :/

Finally a method to remove the 3 watchfaces and have our pebble in French!

By the way, latest pebblebits updates solve a problem with ciryllic names with incoming call for iOS. And add extra a functionality to the back button.

It should be noted that this patch is relevant not only for cyrillic but for any language which uses multibyte characters, such as Greek, Polish, Hebrew or Thai.

Not a true port but @TEKHD is incorporating S6 into his rom and I posted the corrected S6 images that can be used for COD6 or anyone's themes.

I believe he will be using them on the next update but since I am on his rom as well, let me know which mod version you are using and I will give you the file with the updated images. As in just stock or one of the mods like TEKXodus_URv3.3_N4_No_Traffic_SystemUI_TEKHD or TEKXodus_URv3.3_N4_No_Traffic_No_Clock_SystemUI_TEKHD.
Keep in mind that for the moment they are the stock green and not the themed versions as you see in his rom.

If you meant you flashed the L-TEKXodus_URv3.3_S6_TW_SwitchON launcher mod then that is fine, this won't effect that.

Oh ok well I highly appreciate that because I think this is awesome rom and was upset when u said they were taking it down only issue is ocassional lag on lockscreen and thru screens but other then that it's good

It's still a very new port (basically a beta). I did not have any lag going from the v1 to the v2 but going from a note 4 rom to the s6 port I did, so you could try doing that. An alternate kernel helps too.
I promise we are fully aware of it and are working on it. We're still trying to pinpoint what is causing the lag (as it happens in the launcher & opening apps)... I'm thinking it has to do with the missing x64 files we can't incorporate. Or maybe there's something we're overlooking. Either way we are working on it... but there are ways to reduce it, as I said. It's a beautiful rom and we want to see it grow & improve. I'm sorry I don't have a quick & dirty fix for you buy I hope that helps explain where we are in terms of development.

Certain features are available, like the Smart Select (GIF capture) by installing the latest SmartSelect (Note7 version) apk from apkmirror.

Sorry, I haven't tried any other feature apart from that. The GIF capture was the only feature I was interested in.
Translate does not work as of yet but others might. You can backup the current apk and then install new versions of them to update the features.

Thank you! I already install the new apk for gif capture but I dont really gonna use that. So anyway to rollback the note 5 version because I didnt know that I have to backup and now I cant even Uninstall it

No need to uninstall, just keep using the new one, it's much better.

3D Emoji S9 style camera (experimental)

As title suggest below is 3D emoji and S9 Ui style cam. This mode I have made for my ROM but sharing here as it may work on stock/other roms as well.
There is no intention to work on it further, so first go though post, make nandroid and flash mod. If you don't like, restore your nandroid to remove mod.
You can report review which may help others, otherwise no more plan to work on this.

As it would seem - flashing means thru custom recovery. Unfortunately I am not rooted. But m still glad Ketan did it. #LegendsareBorn

Very nice Rom! Nice to know there's a smooth ROM with little bloat, S8 infinity display and on Pie. I dont see N8 infinity wallpapers though.

I think I translated badly since the developer speaks Spanish I think it's s8 infinity and N8 wallpaper

I love this rom !!!
With Winrar i've delete a lot of apk from zip file to down to 1Go size, install some google apk like last phone, contact, and some other>
install magisk>>> it become my daily rom>
