Issues with multiple bluetooth devices? - Nokia 8 Sirocco Questions & Answers

I use Remote Phone (https://justremotephone.com) for handeling calls at work. Remote Phone uses bluetooth handsfree profile for the purpose of controlling my phone from the laptop.
When my phone is connected to my laptop with Phone audio, Input device and Contact sharing enabled, it can only connect to my BT headset using Input device and Contact sharing.
When my phone is connected to my BT headset or a BT-speaker with handsfree-support (e.g. my car) with Phone audio, Input device and Contact sharing enabled, my smartwatch (Gear S3) looses Phone audio (or disconnects).
When my phone is connected to my smartwatch (Gear S3) with Phone audio, Input device and Contact sharing enabled, it often fails to register and automatically connect to other known devices.
It would seem that the N8 Sirocco can not connect to multiple devices using Phone audio profile.
I have sendt an e-mail to Nokia support addressing this issue, and will post the answer here.
I'm still on Android 8.0.0, and hopefully this is a SW-problem that is corrected in 8.1.
I'm guessing there is not so many N8 Sirocco owners out there yet, but of the few that is out there, has anyone else experienced similar BT handling issues?

This might not be a problem with the N8 Sirocco, but a problem with BT handling on the Gear S3.....

i have a major BT connection issues with my GEAR s3. It doesnt pair at all. the process gets stuck on the galaxy and stars moving around and saying setting up your device. Any help on how to connect my gear s3?

solution?

Hi MrMastodon. Did you solve the topic? As I have similar issue with Nokia 8 and car BT device + GPS BT tethering...

I completely forgot to follow up, it turns out that the Galaxy Gear is known for causing exceptionally bad Bluetooth-performance when paired with non Samsung devices.. I sold it.

Problem Bluetooth Manager forgets paired devices

Hi all,
i recently upgraded my qtek 9090 to 1.42 (Tmobile posted BA_TMNL_14200_115_11300_Ship). I have major problems connecting to my handsfree set in my car. The first try to connect is successfull. I can pair with the handsfree device, enter the security code and everything is fine. The device appears in bluetooth manager under paired devices.
After disonnecting the paired devices rapidly gets lost. After that, theres no chance to connect to the device again. The only chance is to delete the bluetooth device in the manager and pair it again.
Despite to this, if have no problems with my gps mouse. Security is disabled, the device also don't appears in paired devices
Has anyone an idea ?
BT Version is 1.0.0 3900
I think I found the problem. Seems, that my handsfree set in my car still had the connect information of the former installation and I still use the same name for bluetooth. The handsfree set can save the connect information of 3 devices and two of them had now the same name but different id's. Seems, that was the problem. I'll test it for some days, but I'm sure, that was the solution
have fun
BT headset is paired but gets lost
my MDAIII has just been updated to the latest Tmobile upgrade.
Everything works ok. BT headset pairs and when i make a call i can speak. But when i receive a call the connection with the headset has a '?'
Now i first have to search to get a connection.
It's like it switches off the BT Headset connection when I receive a call.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Multiple Bluetooth device re-connection issues

I have 3 stereo bluetooth devices and 2 headset only devices.
The problem comes from auto re-connecting to the stereo devices.
The only way it seems to work at all is if I pair all the stereo devices first.
If I reset, then I usually have to click and hold on the device in BT Settings and select "set as wireless stereo" to get the stereo connection to kick in.
In my tests I have made sure only one device is on at a time.
It certainly is not as easy as it should be.
It seems to be worse after a Tilt reset.
So my questions are : Has anyone else seen this behavior and is there a fix or work-around for it?
If not, does anyone no how to make a direct link to the BT Settings Window so at least it would only be a couple clicks to fix it?
You need at least one of each device (headset and stereo headset) to see this problem.
I've seen this with my Wizard as well as the Tytn II, so I suspect it's a "feature" of the MS BT stack. I think it's somehow related to the "set as wireless stereo" feature -- apparently only one device at a time can have that setting, and MS turns the setting off if it can't connect to that device. Note that there's no such setting for handsfree, and connections on that profile work flawlessly between multiple devices.
Its a little better
What I found out is that if you pair all your stereo devices first and then all the non-stereo, things seem to work a bit better and Dutty's BT-Link plugin will reconnect the stereo part most of the time, so its only a click away and sometimes you don't need to turn the device to discover mode.
However, if anyone from MS reads this, there is no reason not to automatically connect into full stereo, IF the device is the only one in the list that can be found at any point in time. And if they wanted to be really cool, if not, then present the user with a list so he can click to choose.
Similar problem
Hi BSW11,
Im having a similar problem with the pairing of my carkit.

I believe it can be traced to the the MS BT stack not handling the automatic re-pairing correctly. I am surprised that not many other people have notice or complained in this forum about it.

No BT Wireless Stereo device will auto-connect to any WM device, you have to tell your phone to connect to it via the BT setting unless a 3rd party app has that function built in to it. This is a 'feature' of MS WM OS system.
Any BT 'headset' (ie mono earpiece) will auto connect if it has been selected for 'use as headset'
Hope this helps.

Connecting Gear & Bluetooth on non Samsung device?

Anybody managed to connect the Gear & bluetooth handsfree on a non samsung device at the same time? Currently only one is allowed to be connected and if i receive a call while gear is connected, automatically the call is routed to the gear speaker phone and not on the phone.
I've been wondering if we can use the Bluetooth Auto Connect app (that we use on the _null ROM Gears) on our phones to prioritize the car bluetooth or a bluetooth headset over the Gear. I haven't tried yet, though, and that's obviously a solution with compromises. Subscribing...
Yes I would like to know if this is a possibility or tweak that can made.
I have my Gear (original) connected to my HTC One M8. Whenever I make\receive call from my M8 it automatically routes audio through to the gear. When it was linked to my S4 it was 'clever' enough to route audio to whichever device I accepted\dialled from.
Pretty sure it only works properly when using gear manager on [supported] touchwiz rom

Bluetooth problem in Samsung Galaxy Note 5

My new Note 5 (SM-N920I) has problems with bluetooth. I can not connect to my car, nor to my headset. However I can connect to my Sony Vaio and my smarthwatch Gear Fit (although sometimes it is disconnected) .
From what little I could see , there is a problem with bluetooth in Note 5, but still no solution.
Someone knows a solution to work properly ?
Thank you

I had a problem too. I could connect but the range was very short then it would cut out. I replaced it.
With the new one, is rhe problem gone?
Bluetooth overall is much better for me than on my Note 4. I've not had trouble connecting to the six devices I use. There's some funkiness with my Gear S when reconnecting via BT after being connected remotely but that could easily be Gear Manager and not the phone. Range does seem a bit shorter but reconnections are a lot faster and more reliable. BT on any device is a big YMMV because of all the different devices being connected.

Possible to use a Bluetooth Headset with Android Auto?

Hello,
I just purchased and installed a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. So far it's pretty slick. I'll be using it with my Galaxy S6.
I noticed that when I try to disable the Call Audio Bluetooth profile from the phone side, it re-enables itself... like I HAVE to use the NEX for call audio.
I would like to be able to turn on my BT headset and use that instead, without much hassle. There are definitely times where I'll be in the car with other people and don't want the whole car to hear the conversation. It also presents a call quality issue with the far end being able to hear the system speakers.
Do I have to unplug USB from the NEX to make this work?

I would like to know this also
I have same unit, try having headset connected before plugging in your phone. That may work
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
I'm bumping this up. With my previous phone (LG V10) I could select which device use to make phone calls, Android Auto device or a bluetooth headset (Plantronics). Now with a Oneplus 3T that is not possible anymore.
AA automatically rerouting "BT phone" to main AA device. That is really annoying.
If someone knows a workaround to this please give advice, thanks...
You have to have it enabled, in a nutshell the unit (Pioneer) declares that it has bluetooth capabilities and declares the bluetooth mac address when it initialize the connection, than Android Auto (trough Google Play Services which is a system app) will enable the bluetooth, set up a pairing if it doesn't exist and connect to it, so no matter what you do it will always connect to it, the only way to "avoid" this is:
a) Get another phone which connects to the Pioneer bluetooth, then connect the phone (haven't tried this, but probably will do the trick)
b) Alter the pioneer unit so it doesn't send the bluetooth mac and it doesn't declare the bluetooth service (almost impossible, you will need to replace the app on the unit)
