Recovering IMEI on Stock? - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

Hi, so I've just restored to stock again (retgb device, XT1805 i believe) and I have lost my IMEI. All of the guides I've seen means flashing to a validus ROM or something, which I do not want. Is there any way of recovering it whilst on stock? I'm not sure if I am using the correct firmware as I couldnt find the specific UK firmware.

When u haven't got efs backup,U must flash validus make efs backup and flash stock and restore it
And while u will flash stock ignore modemst erasing commands

[Q] Recover the EFS Folder

Hi, so I decided to flash the lollipop OTA for XT1095 in a XT1097 I follow a guide that say that you have to backup the EFS folder and I did it, but after flashing the OTA the backup was missing, so now I don't have IMEI, I read somewhere that you can actually recover it but not the how.
Can anyone provide further assistance in this topic?
Thanks in advance

how to backup stock firmware

Hi,
i have an galaxy s5 sm-g900f unrooted (still on warranty)
Before I try a custom rom on it , I would like to backup the original firmware so i can restore it if something happen. I know some original firmwares are out there to download but I would trust my own one better.
I've searched a little bit but i just found some ways to back up just the data (App data +apks ....)
also i've found some method but they need to root the device first but i'm not sure the if i rooted my device and i backed up the firmware and when i restore it, it will be rooted or not.
does someone know a method to fully backup the firmware without root ?
Can't be done without custom recovery, which will void your warranty
The stock firmwares you don't trust, are identical to the one running on your phone right now
sammobile dot com & ODIN will restore stock
But if oyu are going to flash a custom ROM, then you'll need custom recovery anyway, and also void your warranty
Flash TWRP recovery, backup your ROM, flash what you want
And Q&A

Yea, It`ll be identical to how it was when you backed it up, (Speaking from TWRP full backup)

How to upgrade firmware

Hi. I have unlocked bootloader, so i Lost ota update, and i don't do a TA backup.... So how can i upgrade firmware without reflash the whole software?
All I can think of is a backup of data partition if you have TWRP and then do a full system flash. Otherwise you could back-up your own personal information using other apps and then flash and then restore ( I do it this way ) as it's the easiest and I've never had any issues with personal data being lost.

Till now there is no way to fix it.
Volte fix methods can make your device unusable.be careful. Avoid them.
It's not necessary for volte that baseband must be "R"..mine is "e" still volte is OK.
So don't play with baseband..
Are you getting 4G signal..and your IMEI is OK.??
Recommendations:
Take a TWRP backup and keep it safe.. before doing anything, will be useful in case of emergency.

Stay On Aosp Extended..Make sure that you are getting 3G signal..!
If there is no reception of 4G signal..then pass these Commands..
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot reboot
4G will be Back.
Now take take a working efs and persist backup using twrp.!
Note:
Skip these two Commands while flashing stock..
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2

Still no IMEI on stock ROM..Restore efs backup.
Re-Lock bootloader only when you have IMEI number on stock ROM.!
Without IMEI number relocking is not recommended.!

Can any of the senior developer clear my below doubts:
1. Can we get 4g back on custom rom after official oreo release?
2. Camera with all stock features and stability on custom rom after official oreo release?
My story is as below :
I was on AOSP extended rom and tryed to go back to stock.
Then Lost my imei
Went back to Aosp got imei but lost 4g. At this point i was getting imei on all custom rom but no 4g on any.
Some persist file clamed to give 4g back so i tryed it but lost imei again
Luckly i had efs back will i was on aosp extended (no 4g)
Now the problem after flashing persist flie is that i am getting imei only on pixel rom, that to after restoring efs back of aosp. I tried several other roms but no imei( even after restoring efs)
Now i can't use any other rom
Will we have any working fix?
I tried all the post like erase modemest, remove sim and flash official rom etc but nothing worked
Will official oreo release help developers to fix this issues permently on custom roms?

Question TWRP backup and restore

What I need to backup to try a different custom ROM and how I can restore it?
Should I need to remove any screen unlock before backupping in order to be able to restore?
Thanks.
You should backup everything of your current rom for restore it in case your phone get bricked while flashing an incompatible rom or missing any step from the rom flashing procedure

Ty, could you be more specific among all options available in backup menu?
What about my question about disabling screen unlock?
Yes you must disable your screen lock in order to be decrypted
