Can I swap the main board in a N920A for a N920T without making other hardware changes?

I'm looking to buy a Note 5 outright (no contracts, not buying through a carrier, etc.). There are a few variants I've looked at, including the N920T (T-Mobile's variant) and the N920I (international variant). I don't want to purchase a phone locked to T-Mobile, but I also don't want to buy a phone that could possibly not be 100% compatible with T-Mobile's network. Will the N920I be able to completely take advantage of T-Mobile's US network like their N920T, or does the N920T support unique bands and/or protocols not found on the N920I?
Own a n920i and working on 4g tmobile Holland.
I guess it would depend on which carrier you're going to use . Not all carriers use the same Bands for LTE.
you can check this on the website

I ordered the 920i for use on At&t, as the 920T was missing one of AT&T'S bands.
How's the phone working for you. I'm looking at buying a tmobile note 5, but was planning on using it on at&t.
How has your experience been on AT&T's network with the 920i? Any issues?
Hello.
Living in France, and having imported a Hong Kong Galaxy Note 5, so it miss B20 (800Mhz) frequency band to have 4G optimally.
Is it possible to activate this frequency band or another by changing the CSC firmware? How to do please?
The only models currently offering all French frequency bands are the N920C and N920CD (Dual SIM)
Apparently it is possible to do it on a Galaxy Note 3 and 4 ....
Thank you.
Not currently. Other Samsung phones that use Qualcomm chipsets can through a program called QPST, but its a complex process to do. You essentially bought the wrong phone.
Also this is the wrong forums. Mod please delete!
Maybe you bought the wrong phone.
These are the bands up on my note 5

I hope there was a solution for your problem.
I'm in the same deep hole...
920i and Ebay . Also im in Portugal atm. My phone is originally from singapore i believe ... it had the singtel bloatware on it.
Looking to get an SM-T817T to use on T-Mobile off of eBay, but they are much harder to come by than the SM-T817V.
Is there a difference (hardware-wise) between any of the SM-T817x variants? Also, are the variants locked to the specific carrier they are branded for or can they be unlocked?
Cant you just get the international GSM t815 or does that not cover the Tmobile bands?
i ordered my tab s2 via tmobile in germany and got a t815. i am not using a sim card, but i think it will work without a problem, since tmobile sent me the tab

Doesn't have LTE Band 12.
Does the T815 have telephony functionality? Or is it crippled like the T817?
Hey guys.
As title says. I bought and SM-N920C whilst in UAE but I live in South America so want to know if possible to flash the SM-N920G region specific modem and base band seeing as I am experiencing reception issues on the phone. I am getting 4g just fine but I am finding that I get poor quality signal. Only two bars most of the time.
I know the South America region specific Note 5 is SM-N920G so I wanted to know if I would be able to flash the modem and baseband from that model onto my SM-N920C?
Would this help improve signal reception?

It's not possible to flash N920G modem and bootloaders on N920C. My best recommendation would be to potentially try other modems and bootloaders for countries that use similar bands to yours. But the problem is still likely to remain as the bands supported by N920C are different to those supported by N920G.

Hey brother,
Thanks for the reply. As far as I understand both the n920c and n920g support LTE bands 1-12 the only differences are above those.
I only use bands 1-7 so given they both use these same bands is it still not possible? Are there any hardware differences or are they the same phone in that respect?
Thanks!

Unfortunately you still cannot flash the modem and bootloaders because partitions sizes are likely to be different and the phone itself will not let you flash them.

Where you able to find any solution to make it work? im having that problem right now, i have a N920C but cant make it work in these bands in Canada, i bought it because i broke my N920G and just as you said, i thought they supported the same bands
Looking at possibly picking up a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 International Model for use on the T-Mobile US Network. It looks like the most compatible Variant is the N960F UK model - would someone be able to confirm if this is correct? Thanks for any help that may be sent my way.
n960f/ds is international unlocked. The complete continent of Europe has this model. ds varient has 2 sim card slots. if I were you I would inform yourself of the frequencies that tmo US uses and then compare that to the 960f model to make sure it works. I am American and I've used my 960f is US without issues. but still you should confirm that yourself
