After oreo update my P10 gets really hot when just browsing and when playing games its so hot that it hurts my fingers.
In nougat everything was very good.
I did a factory reset after update...maybe to do a low level one?
What do you mean with Low Level?
Which version do you have? Maybe there's a newer one but not released for you - and this one has a fix for it.
I saw on some threads that they talked about low level factory reset.
I'm on B365.
L29c432b365
B365 is the newest firmware, so no update for you.
You can try this "low level" reset - can you provide a link where you found this?

So i want to update to pie i am rooted with unlocked boot and critical and currently on SEP security patch and was just trying to find out if i can update to PIE and wich POST is the right one to update to PIE?
You need to update to the latest November security patch first before flashing Pie. There is already a guide here, there was no need to make a new thread.

Not an impressive PIE stable rom
Issues i faced..
1. I have also faced the issue of deleting my photos, although i deleted photos, still it showed as pics, without any image visible , i restarted the device many times, later i cleared the cache, delete from trash aswell, then it was working properly,
2. After updating to Pie , i see the performance degrades, when i click power button, i see very slow in locking the screen, and even when finger print sensor response also affected.
3. Battery performance too decreases after update to Pie.
4. Some times changing the wallpaper or lock screen, destabilizes my ringtone.
5. Adaptive brightness is not at all effective, i never use it, very slow in response.
6. Cant able to connect to wifi hotspot at 5GHz frequency range with my lappi.
7. 8.1 Oreo was much better in performance, thinking of going back to Oreo.
8. Only improvement i experienced is low volume is much better to 8.1 Oreo.
9. High volume is also not upto the mark.
10. In camera, Manual lens was not working properly in 8.1 Oreo, but now its working.
My Antutu bench mark figure shows as 131009.

Well i update and installed the beta kernel Hex and everything looks away no problems at all. i can run PUBG with no lag now at highest settings.
Hi there,
I have the 64gb/4gb model, has anyone else experienced significantly degraded performance since the update? I read about memory problem in the forum but that seems like it was posted before Pie.
Are there any solutions to this? Anyway we can report it to Google / Xiaomi. Phone was very fast before and now it is sometimes unusable
Thanks

Did you try a hard reset ?
Even the memory problem was solved for me after Pie Update
128gb/6gb user here... so far pie is far more better than Oreo.. I use pie since leaked version around November until the latest update, so far so good.. I didn't feel any slowing down or lag
Hello experts,
Since Oreo was pushed to my S7 Edge through OTA, it has been nothing but trouble. My phone is extremely sluggish and unresponsive, to the point that when I get a call, the phone rings but doesn't come on so I cant answer the phone. I have wiped out cache multiple times and even factory reset it couple of times and the phone is still very slow. I have been reading here trying to find a solution, but have not been very successful.
The Baseband Version on my phone is "G935AUCS8CRK1". From reading all the threads here, it looks like I am on BB8 and stuck and wont be able to upgrade or downgrade. But still I thought I post the question here and one of you experts can confirm and/or suggest a solution for the problem I am experiencing.
If it is not possible to flash any rom once on BB8, is there anything I can do to improve the performance of my S7 edge after Oreo upgrade? As mentioned above, I have wiped and cache and done a factory reset multiple times with no luck. Am I the only one experiencing the lag/sluggishness?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and support!
I have had occasional slowdowns on Oreo, but nothing like what you are describing. There is a bit of lag when an incoming call comes in that wasn't there before, and I often see a purple screen for a second before it pulls up the contact info, but it is ringing as this happens. I have never had an issue answering a call, etc. I am CRK2, though, not CRK1. Overall, the lack of keyboard lag, which made me despise Nougat on this phone, makes up for the occasional lag elsewhere.
Unfortunately, you can't downgrade the bootloader/baseband, so you can only run software builds that are based on that version - all of which, I believe, are Oreo builds now.
Mine is running very well, very improved. The only problem that I have is the battery drain, I can hardly reach 4 hours of screen on time on battery, but the normal average is 3, 3.5 hours of screen on time. So sad that actually is not a way to downgrade to B8
Good day.
Have anyone experienced same problems with the Huawei P9? My phone is getting more and more laggier, slow, for example, I click on messanger head and it opens after 3 seconds or more, stuttering, camera very slow, google maps is almost unusable sometimes (with downloaded maps), when I type the taps are "registered" a second later, but the whole text is written ... The phone is still under warranty. Did the factory reset and nothing has changed. Antutu scores vary, from 85k-110k (below average), the phone rarely gets hot ...
Did anyone experience this and maybe knows the cause?
Thank you all in advance.
EDIT: EVA-L09 c432B504
Noticed the same on my P9 Plus running the latest CN firmware (B538 - Dec18 Security Patch).
After several months I threw in the towel and went back to B535 (Sept Patch) which is more stable.
I noticed general slowness, as you did, phone restarting if i used the camera at anything under 30% battery, increasingly bad battery life in general (<40% by lunch time vs ~55-60% previously).
Since flashing the older firmware, it's been back to normal again, but it's only been a week, so we'll see how it fares after a month or so.
I'd suggest rolling back to the last 'good' firmware you had, and seeing how you go.
Hello,
My M21 says it is up-to-date, but it isn't and I can't figure out why. I've even gone so far as to do a full factory reset, and still it won't update. The factory reset was the last option I knew.
Alot of google-searches resulted in the feeling that this is an isolated case.
Samsung Switch on PC also says the phone is up to date.
All my colleagues (it is a company phone) have the same model, and they have all received the updates long ago.
I've added screenshots of the software-information it is showing.
If anyone knows a solution to this, please let me know.
Thanks for any replies or clues anybody might give.
Lol, if I was you I would disable OTA updates!
If the OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission... let it be! Upgrades can and do break things.
No rollback from 11 as it upgrades the bootloader version too. Let that soak in; it's a one way ticket once punched Mr Wick... consequences.
Android 9/10 best, Android 11* so-so, Android 12* is a mess... in my opinion.
With Pie and higher you are protected from the worst rootkits. Unless you do something stupid security and malware won't be an issue.
*do you really want cpu cycle sucking scoped storage fully active? Some apps like the old free version of WPS Office will most likely not load.
I was actually hoping that the update would fix some of the inconveniences I've noticed since I started using it.
Things like:
Random restarts while the phone is doing nothing, needing me to enter the PIN for both SIM's. Like in the middle of the night. The alarm still goes off in the morning, however it goes of at max volume... Or in the middle of a run (i use the phone for sports tracking), causing me to lose the workout data.
Random disconnects from bluetooth devices
Sometimes slowdowns for no apparant reason
Incredibly slow camera
This is a company phone, and before this I had a personal Nokia 8.1. Transitioning to the M21 just feels like a step back. It's slower and has more buggy behavior. I was hoping the updates would fix it, because rooting is against company policy.
And this is apart from the security updates that haven't come through since october 2020, while all colleagues with the same phone did get those updates.
And I'm also just curious why this one says it has the most recent updates, while it clearly doesn't. Whether I choose to install those updates is another matter. It just doesn't give me the choise.

That's not a stable load. I don't blame you for wanting to ditch it if that's the best it can do.
I never get random reboots or the rare crashes I see seldom require a reboot.
Make sure global power management is disable and that a 3rd party app isn't the cause.
It's possible that the firmware is corrupted; a reflash to the same rom might be a safer option.
Or you could try flashing the next OS version up... avoid 12 though. Lots of reported issues across the board with it, and lots of people doing rollbacks to ditch it.
This will probably get time intensive.
