Has anyone received their free bose headphones yet?
I preordered my phone and received notification for successful bode claim which will be delivered within 30 days, long wait.
Also anyone manage to get 2 headphones? I preordered 2 phones so I hope I get 2.
Got mine already.

Nope. I emailed support and they said would have to pass back to development team.b they started the phone selects the best codec. Reminded them that aac better than SBC. I advised even though the phone shows aac as soon as the headphones connect it reverts back to SBC hopefully a future update will fix. my only concern with this phone has been the updates. Here in the uk still not had the updates that most other people have had to date.

I called support day one and they said the same thing.
Passing to devs but I don't buy it.
If you look at the mate 10 forum aac has been broken for a while

Damn..... Why can't all phone manufacturers just give their customers the features working from day one.
Really frustrating

Especially frustrating when it's already a working feature in android 8, they actually had to break it.
I swapped my bose for sony mx1000 m2 and they used the ldac protocol straight away..

So I just got my Bionic today, and I tried to play some music on it. The phone's speaker is fine, but for some reason, when I plug headphones in and start playing music, I will hear a faint high pitched sound in the background. And when I press pause and the music stops, the high pitched sound will still be there for a few seconds, and then no sound.
Does anyone else have this problem? Did I just get a faulty unit? I tried with all the headphones in my house, and the same thing happens.
I'm hearing the same thing when the phone is plugged into the car dock and plugged into my car stereo. It's very faint but it is there. Seems to go away after I start playing music. It's not there when the music stops.
I'm definitely getting the same thing on my over the aux cable in my truck tried other cables too same thing

I've got the same problem here as well. It m to new the thing I can focus on with the headphones in.
Ya this is a huge problem. My friend, who got his phone yesterday, has the same problem.as well. He is going to verizon to see about it, but it looks like to be a design defect.
I notice it, only if i have my headphones plugged in and i'm not playing music....... its not a big deal to me, because why would I have my headphones plugged in with NO music playing??
Its definitely there for me. It sounds like the type of noise that can be induced from a ground loop in the charging circuit from a car. The sound is there for me even when I do not have a charger connected through...
Not to sound crazy, but I get the exact thing happen to my G2X.
Wrong forum yes but I couldn't help but comment on this. I hear that sound when the screen is off. Goes away when screen is on.
Happens on stock and custom ROM.
>> Ya this is a huge problem ...
More of a minor annoyance in my opinion. I barely notice it.

Alrighty, I think it's safe to say that everyone is getting this. We don't really need 5 pages of "I have this too."
I guess we'll have to wait for an update for Moto to address day-one bugs.
Add me to the list of those with this problem.
High pitched whine when listening to headphones(tried multiple headphones) through 3.5mm jack. Goes away ~3 seconds after pause playback. Only hear while playing media. Easiest to detect when media volume turned way down. and/or quiet portion of song.
This thread is being used to track % of phones that have the issue. Take a moment to reply.

I sent them an E-Mail and was told to do a factory reset (which I had already done, but for another reason). I told them I did this and they then said I was the first person to mention this problem and it must be unique to my phone. I then sent them 3 links to various forums with members discussing it, many of whom had also contacted support. I told them it was a very well known problem and I was obviously not the first person to contact them. They ended our conversation by basically saying the phone has a 1 year warranty from Motorola and I may take it back to a Verizon Wireless store at any time and if they can replicate the problem, the phone will be replaced
yesterday i got bluetooh head phones from the verizon store that were 50% off and they sound great. no noise at all. i think that it might have something to do with the wire. maybe the bionic has a faulty ground because alot of people are complaining about noise with headphones.

I use the Motorola S9-HD Bluetooth Stereo headset and it sounds great as always. It must be a problem with the wiring, but I do find it strange how the noise varies in volume a lot and when audio stops the whine stops within 2-3 seconds too. That makes me wonder if perhaps it is a software problem. Oh well who knows, once I start playing music, I can barely notice it, but for video it is a bit annoying. I may take Motorola up on their offer of returning it on their 1 year warranty if in a month or so they quietly fix the problem in the next batch of Bionics Verizon receives. There are a few people who say they don't have the problem, but I think those people are just in the group of people who can't hear sounds that are that highly pitched (like the mosquito ringtone). Perhaps in their mid 30's or older, or just not the best hearing. Anyway, it's hardly worth me returning them for the problem, and like I said, if it is fixed in the next year at any point, I will return and exchange them on Motorola's warranty
So quick dumb question. I bought my Bionic off contract / retail price, anyone know if the 14 days return vzw has only applies to subsidized phones or to full retail price phones as well? (my phone has this problem as well which is why I am wondering if I have till Thursday or longer to return it).

The problem lies with the fm receiver. Try using titanium to freeze the FMradioservice 2.3.4. If this does not solve your problem then it is a hardware issue. I have become an avid slacker radio user and this seems to have solved it for me but, I just did it so haven't had time to really test it. Please let me know if this works for you or not. If you are not rooted then there is no solution for you other than to become rooted.

According to a user over on the motorola support forums:
"Freezing FMRadioService does nothing."
Received my Bose Soundlink today. This thing is amazing, can't believe the sound that comes out of it. Even the bass was more than I expected, especially for a little box. BT connection was no problem, hooked right up.
Kind of high dollar, but I get a lifetime warranty, so if it craps out in a few years I can always get my money back.
Would rather get the logitech wireless boombox personally.

I've got one. It is amazing. Even though that's the only thing Bose I'd own. They really did good with this.
The wireless boombox is not so good for portability. And doesn't really get any louder. Same with the new Big Jambox. Lost all portability.
Pro-tip, Crank it up on Pink Floyd's - Money. The horn parts will make your ears bleed.

Agreed, and it was what I ended up going with. Here in Canadia it cost 149 for the Logitech Boombox and 325 for the Bose Soundlink. Must admit I'm extremely happy with my investment. Great to bring out on my balcony to listen to music and watch the world go by
Can you skip tracks on the Bose directly on the unit or only on the phone?

Volume and mute along with power only on the Bose. Any skipping of tracks needs to be done on the device.
Does anyone have any idea when the SBH-20 is meant to be released? I listen to music a lot on my Z and its becoming a hassle already having to mess around with the headphone jack flap. I know there are alternative options but the Sony one seems ideal for my needs and not a bad price either.
Hmm same as the black dock aka no one knows when.

Thought as much, at least the docks (albeit different colours) are starting to emerge. Still seems bizarre to me that Sony have released the device without these accessories being available at the same time.
i think sony decided to release the phone earlier to avoid too much hype for s IV and expecially for HTC One, so they left apart the accessories
Even the other headphones have been changed from New to Coming soon on the Sony Website.
I don't think they rushed the phone, we just rushed the User base! I just believe the phone would be as popular as is it by this point in time. Certain markets just given free docks like 'we don't know when we'll make more' lol

you may want to look at the Nokia BH-22. Slightly bigger than sonys option with an hour more battery and a small led screen to let you know whos calling. I ordered a pair myself to replace my motorola s10.

I think you mean the Nokia BH-221.
It looks nice I wish Nokia didn't take the product page down because it's hard to get specifications, I think it's bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.

AW: SBH-20 Release Date?
The German support told me today that the SBH20 written in the 2nd Quarter appear. So sometime between April and June. So if they do not come in April, I'll buy another. I think it's so annoying to have to wait!

SBH20 is due in stock today according to mobile fun. Hurray
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sony-stereo-bluetooth-headset-sbh20-p38300.htm
does anyone know if it works with headphones with built in microphone and controls? I have Monster iSport Immersion. I don't care if the control buttons on the headphones will work, but I just want to use the headphones because they are great.
Which one is better? the sbh20 or the mw600?
besides the nfc, what else is new? The mw600 has a crisp oled screen, which really tilts the scales in its favour
MW600 supports A2DP 1.0 while SBH20 supports A2DP 1.2 - it's always best to get the newest version as it allows for better sound/power management over BT. Apart from that and lack of NFC - they mostly differ in the design though.
From a brief chat with a Sony rep, i'd like to inform you all that the headset bundled with the SBH20 is the MH755.
the price in Italy (official Sony store) has increased from 39€ to 49€... and in your country?
This is awful!
Still showing as £35.90 on the uk site. Also the flag next to it on the main accessories screen is showing as 'New' rather than 'Coming Soon' so hopefully a release date is just round the corner.

Strange. Problems, sony?
Long time since I was in the HTC section!
Thinking of ordering one when I get paid next week, I've watched the unboxings on the YouTube and there is this one thing I'm really itching to find out! The headphones that are bundled, the ones with the red buds, are they cheap & nasty usual HTC headphones, are they upgraded HTC headphones to have bass and actual mid-tones, or at they Beats Headphones?
I'm in the UK personally and although Clove announced a delay, I was just wondering what is the actual release date for the One? There's nothing on HTC website about the release date, though you can pre-order one direct from them, which I think is abysmal.
Furthermore, I'm on EE 4G in the UK will an unlocked One straight from HTC or any other retailer work straight away when I insert my SIM? That ones kinda the deal breaker because I was watching a video on YouTube and all the reviews in the US were saying 'and we can't test the LTE as this is the European Model' and I know the frequencies are different blah blah blah, but I just wanted to double check I know the device is order-able from EE on a new contract, but I didn't know if that was an EE 'specific' device.
Cheers guys!
I haven't tried the bundled headphones that came with mine (i got Beats Buds free ), but no, they are not Beats buds, they appear to be just the standard HTC ones with red tips.
If you buy an unlocked (sim free) version over here then your EE sim will work straight away.

No problemo.
I've never had, or used any decent headphones...(most will probably say i still haven't :laugh, but i like the bass with the Beats, i'm no audiophile but i like the sound of them. Maybe it's my mis spent latter teenage years in clubs standing next to speakers that blew your head off, but i like them and am happy with them.
Hi guys, I've just gotten the Z3C, and am having headphone issues. I have some Dr. Dre urBeat headphones that work perfectly in every other device, but when I connect them to the Z3C, they don't work. It sometimes says that headphones have been connected if I jiggle the jack around, and they might work for a few seconds, but then they always stop working. Every other pair of headphones I have work fine in the phone though. I took the phone back to the shop as I thought it must be faulty, but after trying my urBeats in the shop's display Z3 and Z3C, I encounter the exact same issue! Whereas every other brand of phone they had on display works perfectly.... So are urBeats not compatible with Z3 phones? I've done some research and apparently 3.5mm headphones jacks vary in that some are CTIA and some OMTP so maybe that's the issue? This is an absolute pain in the ass as it seems I've thrown my cash away on these headphones! Any help would be appreciated
Maybe the Z3C is the only one that can recognize crap and refuses to work with it :silly:
I have no idea why it wouldn't work tho, since the Xperia Z I've seen people having issues with their headphones, but i don't see why it would matter.

To the OP -- not sure what plug the Beats uses (CITA or OMTP) but I think Xperias started using the CITA standard a few years back and this is probably the problem (whic is odd because I thought Apple also used CITA and Apple sells Beats headphones). Either way, you can buy CITA/OMTP adapters for a few bucks on Ebay, so all is not lost.

I don't care if you guys think they're crap or not, they were a free upgrade I got from the store after my old headphones kept breaking every 3 months, and these have so far outlasted them.
I just got a CTIA to OMTP adapter and the problem persists. Seems like for some idiotic reason they are not compatible.

See if Beats has a customer service number... maybe there's a solution. Seems odd that they simply won't work. You could also try the Xperia Care forum where you might get an answer: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/bd-p/xperia_z3_compact
There's a thread there about Sennheiser earphones not working and one suggestion was: "try to clear data for smart connect under settings-apps-all. Also, clean the 3.5mm input."
Yeah I called Sony tech support and they had me clear the data. Problem persisted. So now I emailed the Beats tech support and their reply didn't help. But luckily, the right earphone started cutting out yesterday so I claimed warranty this morning Used the opportunity to switch to Sennheiser CX275s. Works perfectly. Their value is $50AUD less than the Beats and yet the quality is a lot better. Perfect timing for the Beats to break lol. So all is well now These Sony phones and their headphone compatibility issues are a joke though. Really poor.
