Hi everyone! I decided to go back to stock from LineageOS 14.1, because 3D and AnTuTu Benchmark didn't work, just showing black screen and nothing happened. In any game did the same. So I decided to restore a TWRP backup, and I did that. It restored, but when i tried to boot up, it just stayed on the Honor logo. I tried to put the UPDATE.APP onto my SD-CARD and try to reinstall the OS, but I noticed something in TWRP, /data didn't mount for some dumb reason. I didn't think that was something bad so I ignored it. After installing the UPDATE.APP, it still does the same, stuck on Honor logo.
I know I f*cked it up, but now I want to get it fixed. Please help me !
Downgrading to EMUI 4.1 will fix it.

Tried downgrading to EMUI 4.1, and downgraded well, until it remained on the Honor logo screen. I tried with different versions of NEM-L21C432 stock roms for my phone, and only the ones with 13x worked to upgrade to, but the Nougat ones didn't. And it also blocked my bootloader again, because of the downgrade to EMUI 4.1 by holding both volume buttons and the power button.
If you downgrade, first u have to use downgrade package and then install rom version NEM-L21C432B132 and then use updater in settings to upgrade to nougat, dload method doesn't work with emui 5 roms.

The thing is I came back from a custom rom, more exactly the Lineage 14.1 developed by Meticulus, but it was EMUI 4.x based, so... yeah. It shows that the EMUI version is installed is NEM-L21C432B130. I tried upgrading through update.app and no luck. However, the bootloader locked. So, I send HuaweiMobileUK a tweet to give me the bootloader code for my phone. And sure enough, 2 days later, I have the bootloader code and unlocked the phone. I am going to attempt to install TWRP and then wipe everything except the SDCard and flash the update.zip with TWRP. I will try that and let you guys know if it worked.

Ok, so I tried wiping everything except the MicroSD Card and installing the update.zip FULL-OTA MF NEM-L21C432B132 and it worked. The phone still has the bootloader unlocked and now it works perfectly. So this is a good solution that worked for me ! Thank you guys for help anyways!

Hello.
After OTA upgrade of my Ascend P7 EMUI ( Now it is P7-L10V100R001C00B133SP01 - probably from B121) i am experiencing higher energy comsumption and few other strange things. (the auto brightnes is not working the way it should .. etc.)
Is there a way how to downgrade the build, i want to try if it will help to get back the battery performance.
Can anyone please wite short (step-by-step) process for me? (for exmape 1. root your phone with this XYZ, 2. download OLD build of EMUI here ABCDEF ... )
I am totally new to this and want to try but i see that usually peopele here are talking about things they understand and i am lost in it.
Thank you for any help.
Hey man, everything's on this forum.

Just download the version you want an put it in the phone, then go with the Upgrade app.
From EMUI 3.0 there is NO downgrade!

Unfortunately in case of EMUI 3.0 is not true anymore!
I yesterday downloaded the new, EMUI 3.0 ROM (B604) for my P7-L00 and installed without problem. The new UI is promising and interesting, but it is the first developer version and still has some bugs. So, I decided to put back the old, but well-functioning ROM (B125SP03).
But I cannot do it! Nor the so-called three-button method, neither using the upgrade app works. The process starts but some seconds later the Recovery (which also has new look) says that the flashing process failed. Without further explanation, error code or something.
So, now I don't know, how to get back my previous firmware... Any idea?
Maybe You could flash old stock recovery first ?

Yes, it's a good idea. But how? My phone is not rooted.

Mayby try installing stock "recovery.img" by Adb and Fastboot and after that update.app by normal procedure.
Im not sure but I think that Fastboot don't need root to flashing recovery.
Try this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/help/to-stock-recovery-t2893281
Does anybody know-
- is there only one version for the `recovery.img´
or we have a newer and older versions ???
I also can not downgrade from 3.0 Emui back to a lower version ( B135 / B133 / ... )
TWRP does not work anymore , because i can not EMUI 3.0 root over RootGenius and downgrade via stock recovery dload version also does not work .
When Verifing update package it always stops in different timeline installation .
Who advise you how to downgrade from Emui 3.0 back to Emui 2.3 ?
EDIT:
Please i need stock recovery from B604 EMUI 3.0
I think the stock recovery from EMUI 2.3 does not work correctly on EMUI 3.0 firmwar.
But if there are different versions of stock recoveryes .
In stock recovery menu EMUI 2.3 can not move at all , not responding to anything .
Therefore, the dload update firmware version is not correctly installed.
Z TWRP via ADB I had to revert back to the original stock recovery, so I went to install dload version 3.0 EMUI
Does it mean that there is no way to go back to EMUI 2.3 ROM anymore? !

Well I would also like to know.
I tried to downgrade P7 - L07 EMUI 2.3 B125 and error during installation.
I tried to pull the recovery of EMUI 3.0 B604 and downgrade and also without success.
Someone please advise ?

Well, I think that we should pull the recovery from the PREVIOUS ROM, and flash it before downgrade, and NOT the EMUI 3.0 recovery. Because theoretically only the EMUI 2.3 recovery should be capable of installing an EMUI 2.3 ROM.
But, according to your own experience, the old recovery did not do the job well either. So, I have no idea...

It seems that we have to wait for the newer EMUI 3.0 versions which hopefully will resolve the bugs and improve the user experience. After all, the phone can be used with the new B604 ROM too. It's just annoying that now it's worse than it used to be...
Maybe new rom with EMUI 3.0 is changing more than recovery only ?

So I was without a cell phone , because I have a backup of all the TitaniumBackup and then still complete backup in TWRP.
And EMUI 3.0 have not TWRP and ROOT, and go back to EMUI 2.3 not work , I'm a little more upset.

Hi everyone
I recently updated to B609 and (as expected) my phone was un-rooted.
I decided it would be better for me to just install a ROM instead of waiting for a new way to ROOT every time a new OTA comes out. (I have seen some very interesting ones that include Xposed)
This would be the first time i install a ROM on one of my phones but i do know how to use custom recovery's and i will always keep a copy of a backup close so i can flash back when something goes wrong.
A problem i have with starting all of this: I can't seem to find a way to unlock the Bootloader on my phone.
I have looked online but i always get links for older versions/other phones/German stuff.
Second problem: The recovery. As far as i understand, there is no working TWRP for EMUI3.0. BUT there should be a working CMW recovery. Should i go fot CMW?
Third problem: Which ROM? There are 3 that grabbed my attention. Se7en-Rom (But it seems like it hasn't been updated in a while), My-RoM (which seems the most interesting for me at the moment) and Miui (which i just found out about). Which should i go with or should i use another one? I can already say that i want my phone Rooted and Xposed is something i would love to have back (since i used to have it on my previous phone).
Any advice and help would be appreciated

I have a P7-L10 with B609. I was able to successfully root it with RootGenius. When you root it, the bootloader is unlocked at the same time. As far as I can tell, the root is 100%. As for CWM, you can get it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/development/mods-tweaks-kernels-recoverys-emui-2-3-t2966670
TWRP doesn't work with B609/emui3.0.
My L10 has faulty flash memory and won't accept a custom recovery, so I can't test CWM or any custom ROMs. Perhaps others can advise. Good luck!

RootGenius was the first thing i tried. It went up to 66% then i got an error but that was a fully Chinese version.
I just tried it again with the one i found by using Google and it goes up to 72%, then tells me that the root has failed.
Which version did you use?
This is what I used and it worked fine (root genius): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789337
As for bootloader, as far as I know from, starting with firmware 133 (Emui 2.3) all devices have unlocked bootloader
CWM is the only custom recovery for the moment;
Did not try any custom ROM (I'm happy with stock ROM for the moment).
Cheers

That's the first one i tried out. The first few times it ended in an Error. I tried it again today and when my phone reboots during the process, RootGenius loses contact with my phone.
And there is a bootloader-ish thing, but the only options i have is reboot, factory reset and cache wipe.

Hmmm, strange problem. Assuming you have the latest version of HiSuite installed and your drivers are current, all I can suggest is trying again with RootGenius (I used version 1.8.7) with your firewall and antivirus disabled or perhaps trying with Vroot. If you do decide to try Vroot it probably won't work unless you disable your firewall and antivirus.

I disabled my firewall and antivirus and gave RootGenius another try. Normally it goes up to 71% and gives me the error. Now it went to 71%, rebooted and then it gave me the error. The weird part is that right before i get the error, it says the installation is complete.
Moved on to Vroot (which is called Iroot now apparently) . It took a while longer but it wasn't able to do it either.

Hello guys.
I recently upgraded from EVA-AL10C00B195 to Nougat Beta B322 It was probably for L29. But after upgrading, there isn't a camera app and google apps do not work. So decided to go back to stock MM rom but I cant install TWRP and root the phone. I have a full TWRP backup of the phone from before upgrade. Is there a TWRP for P9 on Nougat?
I don't mind the data on the phone, is there a way for me to go back to stock rom? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
You need to grab a full marshmallow stock rom, unzip it to the dload folder on the external sd card(it should contain an update.app file).
Then hold down both volume keys and power button and it should reflash stock rom and bootloader.
I tried that with EVA-AL10C00B183 FULL rom.
At 5% it gives error:
Software install failed!
Incompatibility with current version.
Please download the correct update package.
Would've been great if it worked this way. Anymore ideas?

Hmm,Im not sure,it should work.
Try
1.Factory reset of the phone through the main menu and not through twrp.
2.Make sure you have the right rom in the dload folder on the external sd.
3.Make sure you don't have a dload folder and rom anywhere else like the internal memory of the phone.
4.If that fails try relocking the bootloader if it's unlocked and try again.
If that doesn't work then I don't know what it is,maybe try signing up for the beta and see if you can get another update which has a functioning keyboard.
Factory reset fails everytime. But when the phone boots up, the settings are reset. I don't have twrp after the nougat update.
The rom was in external sd inside dload folder.
There isn't a dload folder anywhere else apart from external sd that contains the stock rom linked.
I've unlocked the bootloader and it's the same result.
Where can i sign up for the beta? I don't think there will be beta for chinese AL10 rom.
Here you are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/rollback-eva-l19-android-7-0-emui-5-0-t3496091
Thanks for the help guys but non of this worked for me. I kinda bricked it.
I went ahead and spent a lot of money on DC-Unlocker. It basically formatted the phone and flashed a small factory image. After that, the instruction said I needed to install a full stock firmware for the phone. After which I had to repair the IMEI and also had to get it SIM unlocked even though my phone was factory unlocked.
It costed me 15 euros for formatting and flashing factory firmware. Plus 8 euros to repair IMEI. Plus 4 euros to get SIM unlocked. Total: 27 euros! Now I am back to stock rom with everything stock and working.
Moral of the story, don't install nougat beta if it isn't for your phone. EVA-AL10 in my case. Just wait for your turn.

n0my, please have a look at my thread that I just closed off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/issues-twrp-root-access-flashing-t3509877 I had the exact same problem, but I'm all good now!
i cannot find rollback package for eva-al10, this ****ing variant make me mad, goddam huawei, no more phone from this brand from now on.
Hi.
I'm just wondering if anybody can help me please?
I have a UK Huawei P9 EVA-L09 with Marshmallow currently on it (B166) build I think. It is unlocked and has TWRP 3.0.2.0 Recovery installed on it.
I would like to upgrade to Nougat 7.0 and EMUI 5.0, but most of my attempts have failed and I have had to use the rollback method to get back to Marshmallow.
I have tried to do it by flashing an Update.zip and subsequent EU_Apps package.zip through TWRP to no avail.
I have also tried the 'Dload' folder method, also to no avail. The closest I've gotten is to build no B378, but it shows up as NRD90M Test-Keys on the Build No in the phone settings instead and all apps such as camera, NFC, Bluetooth are missing / not working etc. Trying to then flash the EU_Apps package through 'Dload' method doesn't alleviate the problem of missing apps.
Does anybody have any tips for what I could try to get it onto a working Nougat build with apps please?
Also, if anybody has any links to any relevant firmware etc, then that would be very helpful too.
I'm pulling my hair our trying to get this to work. Surely it's can't be that hard can it??
Many thanks, Bill.
Is your phone branded? For a particular UK network I mean? And if so are you flashing ROMs for that network?
I don't know if that's the problem but I was on Vodafone UK B137 (which is Marshmallow) and flashed the 2 update zips for a Vodafone Nougat ROM thru TWRP and it was successful. I then flashed an updated zip using the "dload method" and that was successful too.
When you say you flashed the zips in TWRP "to no avail", what exactly was the end result?
Also might help if you give the full version of your starting ROM, and what zips you were trying to flash, ie full names and sources.
I'm kinda new to this device forum but seems like people get varying results with different flashing methods, for no particular reason either!
Peace.

Hi. Thanks for your reply.
When I tried to flash .Zips through TWRP it kept coming up with errors and didn't flash them (something about being umnable to mount /System).
I was on EE UK, but found a method yesterday for debranding my phone and setting it to C432. I also managed to successfully flash C432B182 firmware on it.
I have since attempted to flash Nougat B360 using the 'Dload' method and now my phone keeps asking me to enter my password to decrypt storage. Multiple attempts to reset my phone and wipe cache partitian don't seem to be working. Do you have any idea how I can get around this?
It's so hard and it's so annoying how other people seem to be getting it right and mine is proving to be a swine. Makes me want to get rid of it to be honest and get something easier.
Thanks again, Bill.
I'm concerned that this may be bricked right now. No amount of using eRecovery to reset the phone will stop it from going onto the dreaded 'enter password to decrypt storage' screen! I will see if I can re flash it using Fastboot, but I'm a bit concerned right now...

Probably advisable unless you absolutely know what you're doing and don't mind taking the risk. I'm a bit annoyed with Huawei and my carrier, they are always so slow with providing updates and Hmui 5.0 is only what Hmui 4.0 should have been in the first place. I'm done with these manufacturer's stupid over bloated overlays and will be going to an official Google phone in future!
If you can get it into fastboot mode, flash TWRP, then you should be able to progress from there, hopefully by at least formatting data to get rid of the encryption! Sounds like.a royal pita tho to be honest.
When I flashed to Nougat from MM using TWRP I got a bunch of error messages too, but it (eventually) booted up ok....

Hi again all.
Success! I finally managed to crack it.
I downloaded MM Firmware version C432B136 and used Huawei Extractor to extract the Boot.img, Recovery.img and System.img files and was able to boot into Fastboot mode fortunately. I used a Command Prompt to unlock the Bootloader again and flashed each .img file in line.
The phone booted up into the B136 firmware and I was then able to update OTA to B166, but not B182 strangely. So I downloaded a B182 version firmware and placed it in the 'dload' folder of the phone's S.D Card, before forcibly flashing it by holding volume up, volume down and the power button on boot up.
I subsequently used the below link, which showed me how to use Huawei Updater and HiSuite to update to B361 firmware.

Once on Nougat B361 firmware, my phone's update setting prompted me to update to the latest B378 firmware OTA.
Finally, to achieve Root status I followed the below guide and am now running root with SuperUser and BusyBox installed. I'm happy to report that both Nougat 7.0 and HMUI 5.0 are running smoothly on my phone and all features are working (i.e. Bluetooth, Camera and NFC) and performance and battery life are all noticeably better than ever.

Be aware that my phone is EVA-L09, so I followed all guides and downloaded all firmware that related to my specific phone model.
Phew! Thanks for all of your help and good luck to those who are attempting to get this working.
Bill.
I found link and instruction for upgrade, unbrick, back from custom rom, etc....and I hope that it will be useful for the most people. My recommendation is to use force upgrade method with three buttons. Enjoy!

Thanks, want to try.
Did you flash it already?

I used those service roms with same method for p10 lite, p9 lite. I didnt try this one, but, I dont expect any problem because instruction is provided by Huawei. Just, read instruction, but again my recommendation is force method. Because, normal upgrade is not necessary with this rom, ota, or ffinder are more efficient. But if someone bricked phone, or has custom rom, this is the best thing for rollback to stock rom. The reason why to use forced method iis simple, because with three buttons first flash stock recovery and than stock recovery automaticly repair all system and upgrade all things.

No, no this rom is not for rollback. Only if you have issues with Nougat mentioned servise rom is usefull. But if You try rollback from Emui 8 with this yiu can brick phone. For rollback from Emui 8 to Emui 5 must use official rollback from ffinder.

How did you brick phone on Emui 8? Only solution is to try to unlock bootloader in fasrboot and downgrade using twrp, hwota. Method for rollback you can find here in our section. https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/development/downgrade-p10-plus-oreo-to-nougat-t3724382
Regards and good luck.

Long story. Three days was trying to get it unbricked, even it was in service shop, but they didn't do much
however, upgrade from nougat to oreo didn't went well at first. Almost an hour it was installing oreo update zip file in twrp, so I had to turn off the mobile phone in middle of process. At last, it booted to Oreo, but after a first restart (changed overall appearance from large to medium), it just bootlooped. As I had nandroid backup of nougat in twrp, I tried to restore to that, and my problems just got bigger. I tried to go back to oreo again, multile times, different builds, but no luck. Than I found the method you linked, and with great help of guys from Telegram group, it booted again in OS. Hell yes
Strange thing that happend that it didn't booted to Nougat, but in Oreo acctually. Probably LowLevel format helped to fix partitions and stuff, after that bootloader was unlocked again, As for now I have bad Oreo version (8.0.0.046) will rollback again to Nougat.
I'm try to download but on half its stoped
Hi all I used this service rom and it got my phone working again but there are problems the dialer and contacts apps do not work anymore I had to Install 3rd party apps and software update is gone the project menu won't come up when you key in *#*#2846579#*#* command. Fastboot won't let me install twrp fastboot screen shows bootloader unlocked. Frp unlock As it stands I'm stuck with a working limited phone. Does anyone have any ideas I could try

Please let me know where I can find the service ROM for a VKY-L09 (P10 Plus).
The instructions on this forum are written very garbled and not clear enough for me to take a chance and upgrade my phone from Nougat to OREO.

I agree with you all instruction for p10 plus make confusion. You can try this to upgrade to Oreo https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/how-to/huawei-p10-plus-debrand-rebrand-update-t3715288
But, you have stock emui 5 or some custom rom? Im asking because if you had stock rom you had to get regular Ota to emui 8. If you have custom just try to.use Hwota method from mentioned link. I have similar procedure with Hwota for p10 lite so it could be usefull in your case just as example to see how it works

If you have stock firmware emui 5, stock recovery and locked bootloader you can try Ffinder for upgrade too.

Thank you for your reply. First reply from Huawei contributors. Thank you.
I have stock EMUI v5.10 and Android v7.0.
I unlocked the device, installed TWRP and rooted it.
I would like to upgrade to OREO and was hoping to find a solution that will allow me to upgrade using TWRP as it is working and installed.
Please advise.
Thank you once again.
