Could someone please tell me which region this phone version CLT-L09(C706) is localised? I bought my p20 pro from one of the local store here in New Zealand on the weekend and it came with emui build 8.1.0.101 March security patch.

I have same device in NZ. Still on firmware 101 version. Have you received any OTA updates yet?
I bought mine from NZ too. Still on 101 but Firmware Finder shows that 120 is going to come soon(er than later hopefully).
No joy guys, looks like we'll be stuck on this firmware for long time The latest firmware on FF is not approved for our device C706. I also contacted FunkyHuawei and they were non-committal on supporting C706. I'm contemplating to debrand to C636 or European rom which seems to get a faster update.

If you do, do you mind telling us how it goes? I was thinking about it too but I'm not sure if things might break.
I've also got a C706 - just received the 120 update ota in New Zealand. Much quicker than I feared it might be ?
Anyone got any further updates on c706?
In NZ here with c706. Still on 130 version while Soo many further updates. Huawei has always been slow in NZ for updates but from what I can under c706 is for NZ and Australian carriers and it's not tied to specific carrier this time

Same boat as you mate, still stuck on 130 and even on a quick check using FF it is still showing 130 as latest update on C706. Other than what seems to be a poor battery life on 130 I don't have any issue with the phone.

I've just got a P9 Plus from O2 as a repair replacement. It's still running EMUI 4.1.1 and Android 6. It says no update is available in the options.
Anyone got any idea when EMUI5 will become available for a UK handset?
Cheers
What is your current firmware number? (VIE-L09C........ or VIE-L29C.......)
Damn. I meant to supply that information in the original post then must have forgot.
My current version is - VIE-L09C40B181
Thanks!
Me too.
I believe O2 have had the firmware for testing for a while now, but haven't yet signed it off for Huawei to push to the handsets.
Using the O2 app I actually unlocked the phone today (my contract finishes this month). The unlock should take just a few days.
I'll be putting in a pay monthly (sim only contract) from 3 Mobile when the unlock has gone through.
So this might solve the problem anyway if it's an issue with O2 and not the handset or Huawei?

Probably not...once O2 have signed off the update *Huawei* push the update out. Your handset's IMEI number is linked to O2 firmware, so Huawei will ONLY push the O2 approved firmware to you...
Edit: I requested - and received - an unlock from O2 the day I bought the handset - about a year ago. No update...
Right, P9 Plus supplied by O2 UK users, wake up
Click on this link, Nougat should be on it's way in the next several weeks...

That was fast, released 30/09.
Smooth, fast, snappy. VERY aggressive Doze mode.
Happy days.
Has anybody in the uk received the ota to august yet?
Or are the carriers still purposefully not allowing it. That's the official HMD reason they gave me recently . Lol
I'm on o2 no update yet
Whoever you talk to they will explain how updates work and you just need to be patient. 2 months I was waiting on my 6.1 with no update. Moved up to the 7plus as apparently there were no update issues. There is with the august one. They wont even look into it just give you the same spiel how it's the carriers etc etv etc. Android one?????? Still a good phone though
Strange, I am on EE and still no update on my 1055 but got the August update on my Nokia 8 1012, same carrier, 2 weeks ago. Go figure.

No update here on Tesco/02 either
On GiffGaff and no August update as yet
TA-1046 (this is the European dual SIM model) On 3 Ireland - no update.
Thinking to sideload.
Can you see any improvement after manually updated?
1055 in Ireland on 3 (Hutchinson) No update yet.
No update yet for 1055 on BT Mobile or EE in UK.
Sideloaded. Its definitely smoother and snappier.
No idea why HMD are ignoring this issue. These phones could steal market off samsung etc but the customer support is lacking here. Sad
No update with SIM card on the tray. After removing the SIM card and checking for update, the update appeared.
TA-1046, plusnet (EE)
Hi all,
I bought an L09 C782 in May on EE
My wife an L09 C782 in June on EE
I rebranded to L29 432 in June
I got updates immediately up to 161.
My wife later got an update to 130 I think.
I jumped over to AOSIP and other ROMs.
My wife had remained bootloader locked and stock EMUI.
I came back to EMUI 8.1 last week, no updates available, currently not rooted.
My wife received her EMUI 9 update a few days ago.
I have nothing and have avoided ever using unofficial methods.
My question is.
How come the 782 is getting pie before 432?
I thought the whole idea to rebranding to 432 was to obtain updates earlier??
It's cool I don't mind but I find this odd.
Has anyone else with the the above devices noticed the same trend?
PS: pie looks the same as EMUI oreo lol, smoother though and some icon changes but beyond that I couldn't see a massive change.
I have a 782 on ee but no update yet. On the other UK users thread, 482 owners have been getting I before 782 owners. God knows what's going on. It's like a cluster ****..

Ditto.
Still waiting for update, I got the P20 Pro from EE the first week it came out!
The Wife and I both have P20 Pro's on EE but hers is unlocked and mine is not. Both are on CL-09 782 but hers was updated to Pie Yesterday. Weird

I think it's hit and miss you get the update, I kind of get the feeling they are releasing like 30 copies a day or something ???
I've just had my update today! Bought direct from EE! Keep the faith, it's on its way!
Looks like an update is rolling out.
This has also fixed an issue with Google Pay, and CTS Profile Match failure in a previous update. SafetyNet passes.

Based on my experience Samsung is a lot slower. In fact Samsung has just released it Android Pie update to its flagships which is more than 4 months after Huawei has released Android Pie on its Mate 20 series.
Previously had the P9, Mate 10 and now Mate 20 Pro and so far Huawei has been more regular with its updates something I didn't experience with so many Samsung flagships before.
Still on 171 in Singapore.
Try using vpn and set it to country of purchase and try... you might get lucky... i purchased from India and i set my VPN in Australia and received the update... As compared to UAE, mine was 735 mb or something which indicates in changelog that it is a stable update from beta version.

I got 171 last month in Dec 2018, as I Was traveling to India, as soon I reached India, the first day I got the .171 update. Which means for India its faster than Singapore. I am back in Singapore, so need to wait for the update.

I don't think it works that way. Otherwise you could just connect your Phone via VPN and get the latest updatets whenever you want.
Does it has some thing to do with the SIM card I inserted? An Indian SIM Card

Hey
Who had get the newest .153 version by OTA.
Here in Sweden we are stuck at .124
I'd contact support and suggest that it's better to send out updates worldwide.
They told as usually it's on the way but not when.
153 is avaliable only in China for Ota update. You should expect 140 first. Me thinks

YAYYYYYY, lets buy a expensive phone AND lets pay to get updates even faster. Sure! Go waste your money. Waste your money for something you get normal too.
For me FunkyHUawei is a FunkyB*tch
oh and when you brick your phone with there frickeling firmware and update processes you got a really expensive paperweight.
So are most of China on the latest version and the rest of us are 2 versions behind? I don't understand why we would have to pay to update via the funkyhuawei surely it should just be free? I've always used Samsung's but don't recall updates bring rolled out this oddly lol why aren't the updates so just released to everyone at the same time?
I don't understand how some places are 2 versions ahead and that's fair? Surely they are being given a better service and better looked after.
in Finland also .124

Exactly.
I'm in Canada, Carrier is Telus and I'm on .138, got the Phone 5 days ago not sure at what firmware it was on at, but got an update as soon as I turned it on, it is now at 138.
I'm in the French Caribbean island of Saint-Martin, and I had the update a few days ago, I'm talking about .140
With Huawei phones it is very dependent on the Sim you have in the phone. Even when the phone is unlocked.
My operator is a local Orange knockoff, but it must be loosely connected to the real deal in France, and thus I had the update.
In Thailand
Some got 153 about week
Some still stuck at 109
Btw I'm on 140
Wtf Huawei ?
Huawei random update.
Brand is suck
There is an app called update finder. I have downloaded and opened it on my p30 pro and it does indeed offer future firmware that we have no received yet.
It doesn't appear to be OTA though and I am far from an expert. I have included the link to the app. Hopefully someone here can make some use of it. ?
