Device hardbricked, kindda - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

Hello there, hope you are allright y'all.
Here is my problem with a xt1806 device:
Edit to update: Well, I think I screw this up. Went on with the process suggested on the thread I linked and manage to albus blankflash my device, except it never started the bootloader and now my pc won't even recognize it.
Re-edit: Went out of test mode and reboot pc and know recognizes it as HS USB QDLOADER 9008 once again
*Edit: While reading from scratch everything I find that think might help, I realized maybe I'm not getting answers 'cause of the lenght of the post (was expecting at least some "Huh, that's weird" or "Yeah, bricked. Try this, maybe?"). So...
In a nuthsell:
Tried to root through some apps. No success. Function normally for about two weeks. Suddenly it freezes and goes off.
Can't fastboot even. Only white led blinking.
5 hours later comes back alone. Crashes apps frequently during next 20 hours. Try to reboot. Dead, not even led blinking.
12 Hours later it gets into fastboot on first attempt. Start android from there. Functions fine for an hour.
Reboots alone and enters bootloop not passing beyond Moto logo. Reboot it. Dead.
Minute later enters a fastboot by itself. No green android guy on screen and now status reads "modified" where before said "official".
Throws back error when hittin start (ERROR: No bootimage found. Skip to fastboot. More details below on quote.)
Freezes again and reboots into same fastboot once again. After a minute dies again. PC recognizes it as HS USB QDLOADER 9008.
Thinking about trying an albus/potter blankflash. Any thoughts? Guidance?
I'll keep reading meanwhile. Don't wanaa screw it even more.*
About two weeks ago I attemped a few apps to root my device with no success (not really relevant but I needed to root it to use it as a pendrive to reinstal windows 10 on my pc and was lacking options).
Thing is, after failure it all seemed okay but two days ago my phone froze (small part of the screen kind of slided to one side leaving pink or green pixels behind, if that makes any sense) and went off. Only response was a flashing led when plugged to outlet or pc.
Googling a little gave two options: wait and see (some people had theirs come back alone) or try a blankflash. At the moment I couldn't blankflash so I waited. About 5 hours later it came back to life alone.
During next day I noticed it crashing apps kindda frequently. Tried rebooting at night but it never restarted after going off. Not even led flashing this time (till this point I couln't acces fastboot either).
So nextday (that's today) I started reasearching how to blankflash, as till the moment my experience with such things only went up to installing a custom rom on a g3 and doing a factory reset some time later.
Got worried at the fact that I couldn't fastboot my device, as it seemed needed to blankflash, so I retried and, surprisingly, it worked.
Not being sure what was going on, I selected start and it turned on just fine.
Worked for about an hour and then rebooted by itself but entered a loop, not being able to pass through the moto logo. So I try to reboot it manually, just to find it dead again but with the led now flashing.
Few minutes later, while being conected to the pc, it fastboots alone. But this time the screen is weird. No android green guy on screen. Only fastboot options in the middle and device status below (with now a "modified" where before said "official").
And this message when hittin start option:
Bootloader logs
Start Up Failed:
Your device didn't start up succesfully.
Use the Software Repair Assistant on computer to rapair
Connect to pc to get repair assitant
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (Secure)
Fastboot Reason: Failed to initalize partition table
ERROR: No bootimage found. Skip to fastboot
Boot up failed.

Click to collapse
It reboots into fastboot alone once again, once again with this weird look.
A second later the black background displays horizontal interlined lines of pixels of different colors and goes off again to not be responsive (not even led flashing) once more.
Been all day reasearching. I considered seeing if this works https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/help/moto-g5-plus-hard-bricked-recognized-t3636457/page18 as my pc recognizes the phone as hs usb qdloader 9008
The thing is I'm afraid it won't work, given I don't really know what is happening and my phone is different from the one on that thread.
So I'd very much appreciate any help given. Thoughts, whatever you have. Even insults on my intelligence provided they come with a solution HAHA.
Sorry if it's hard to read. English is my second language. Been all day on both spanish and english sites. My brain is clogged by now.
Also, if you suggest I follow the solution presented on the thread I linked. Please point me to where to learn how to fast boot from adb or whatever is needed if I cant fastboot manually.
I'm worried about that too and at this point I can't even think properly.
Maybe all I need is a clear mind but, whatever helps.
Thanks for your time.

Did you manage to recover your device mine is xt1805 its dead with white light blinking.

Holy shizznits, cannot enter bootloader, HELP

So I was playing with the loons kitchen and got called away for a bit...I left my phone plugged in and the kitchen on the desktop (groan now)...my kids wanting to get on the pc did something...not sure what, but my husband says he walked by and said that the ruu was up...I thought ah crap...so I grabbed my phone and saw it was stuck on the splash screen. I rebooted, nothing, splash screen only. I tried getting into bootloader, finally got the message to "restore factory defaults press send" which I did...still, it won't go past the splash screen. I tried the directions found in the "force a bootload" thread...nada. It WILL NOT read as plugged in, and I cannot get it to flash to ANY rom, not button's not the official Tmo, none...PLEASE PLEASE help!!!!!
Thanks in advance.

Just compose yourself for a sec while we ascertain whether it is an actual brick or not. We need to determine two things:
Can you safely assume that your battery has sufficient charge to try a few things? We dont want a completely flat battery to make matters worse.
Only if you have plenty of battery left. Tell us what happens when you enter bootloader mode by holding down camera button and pressing the soft reset hole with the stylus. If your able to get into the tricolour screen then you should be fine.

I had at least 80 percent battery. I cannot get into the tri-color screen. Tried holding camera and soft reset, tried comm, camera, power, tried talking sweet to it...it just goes to splash screen each time. HELP!!!
This is a G3 wiza200 IPL/SPL 2.26 and it IS unlocked.
Thanks in advance
If your trying to get into bootloader mode, the device shouldnt boot like normal up to splashscreen. If your getting this far then theoretically the bootloader shuold be fine. I'm going to explain the process in simple terms. I'm not treating you like a child I just want to clarify then we can move on to trying other methods.
1.hold down camera button
2.press little hole on side with stylus
3.release camera button.
Your device should reboot to bootloader mode. Then next thing you see should be the three coloured screen.

Yeah, I know...in theory it SHOULD, it's not, hence the freaking out. I am attempting to charge it on the main plug, but it begins to charge then dies. I did have a loose usb port, which I thought got fixed, as my phone charged fine last night, and sync'd fine today. I'm not a pro, but not a noob either...so I am getting frustrated because trying the things I do know, aren't producing the results they should.
**The splash screen is one I made, independent of an OS...after any rom change, I flash my custom splash screen...it has always worked...however, it is making me think that it is the ONLY thing on the MDA, and any signs of a rom were somehow killed by my kids flashing the phone with a very incomplete kitchen rom.**
I will try again. Any help that can be offered would be MUCH appreciated.
PS---I LOVE Heroes!!
When plugged into either usb or main plug, does either light (green/orange) stay on? If not then this symptom combined with a general loose fitting of the usb/main plug would indicate a malfunctioning loose usb socket. The thing is though, even with a loose socket you should still be able to enter bootloader mode. This puzzles me.
Other rescue options include sd-card method, but if you dont have one already, a non-functioning usb will prevent you from composing one because you need communication between the pc and your device.

I can get brief and random orange lights (my phone was not 100% but at least 80% when I first began)...it takes a lot of sweet talking though to get it to connect to charge. I tried a backup battery as well. Pushing the camera and soft reset either produces my custom splash, or nothing at all (no boot whatsoever). I am truly stumped.
EDIT
I am not aware of the SD card method. I do have an SD, but if I need a special program, I do not have it.
The fact that no light remains on when you connect usb or mains plug makes me think that the usb socket is loose again. In which case I'm doubtful that you can flash via bootloader mode.
The fact that you cant get into bootoader mode suggests that it was somehow corrupted when the flashing process was interrupted. This could be unrecoverable.
From here I'd suggest you investigate the sd card method. I've never relied on this method so this is uncharted territory for both of us.
Read this thread here and here. I think we're running out of options...
Semi success, I got into the quad colored boot (white bottom)...but cannot get it to recognize the usb. I am getting an error message about an unrecognized device, so I will try to fix active sync first...any suggestions for me now that I am at least in a bootloader screen
thats awesome.that means you do in fact have a bootloader still.
You need it to display USB in the little corner. When your in bootloader mode try removing and inserting the USB cable, we need it to show USB in the corner. Without this, you cannot flash.

it shows usb in the corner, however it is not producing any charging light, nor does my pc recognize the usb. So...I don't know if this will matter, but as I said...I have the RGB + white bootscreen with usb in the corner...is there still a chance????
yes there is a slim chance.
this will improve your chances by a small margin. Remove the memory card, kill wcescomm.exe in task manager on your pc, turn off any firewall/AV.
Now this is the hard part. I dont own a G3 device so I'm not sure what rom to flash that would save your device. I'd suggest you get the latest rom from the company that shipped your device eg Dopod, Tmobile, Imate etc. If you have a rom that you use in times like this to rescue your device then flash it now.
Good Luck

wcescomm.exe is NOT showing in Task Mgr...I will try to flash anyway. I killed the firewall and the sd had been removed already. Any other suggestions??
EDIT
ruu error 260 update error
It cannot connect, please check to make sure it is cradled blah blah blah
Thats ok. I forgot that the previous flashing attempts would have killed it off anyway.
So I get ruu error 260
I have rebooted my pc, deleted any connections in active sync (leaving only guest)...
UgggH
It is NOT recognizing the usb
the usb port is as tight today as it was last night after my hubby repaired it...I'm backed to stumped
EDIT**
I had to reboot MDA, now I have lost the little corner usb...but I still have the quad bootscreen
This is progress at least, 1 hour ago we didnt even have bootloader mode. Perhaps you could try flashing another rom, but I think if error 260 keeps appearing then something is wrong with the USB socket.
somehow i lost bootloader again...
this is driving me insane!!!
am trying again, will update momentarily.
************EDIT*****************
Finally got it back into bootloader, but it will not read the usb. keep getting that stupid error message that it doesn't recognize the device, and if I try to flash it with a stock rom, I get error 260.
I have closed the wcescomm.exe
I have killed my firewall
I have rebooted my phone, my pc...everything a few times
I have deleted any connections in active sync
I have unticked allow usb in active sync
WHAT AM I MISSING???
The usb port on the phone does not feel loose again...could it have got fried somehow? I feel as if I can get the damned usb to be recognized, I can save my precious MDA.
Please...any other suggestions, brainstorms, whatever???
THANK YOU
I had a little problem with theloons kitchen doing the same thing to me last week where it would give me the 260 error. I'll upload a ROM flashing file for you to try. Probably the best thing to do right now would be to take the nk.nbf file from an official ROM and stick it in this file and then run the RUU in it. After that you should be ok again to try your luck at cooking with theloons kitchen again although you may want to wait 'til the kids are at school or something before you try it.
When in bootloader mode there's no charging circuit so you won't get any lights on top. The only way to see if USB is working is by watching that same word (USB) at the bottom of the screen.
Check the SD card method which was what saved me once from the 'freezing in splash-screen' problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276963
good luck

absolutely right while in bootloader mode it wont charge, but to charge or verify status of usb connectivity, while in bootloader mode push power off button,it'll go in sleep mode but lights will show charging if usb cable is charging
usb cable might be charging but mini usb port of the phone has many connectors I think 9 connectors,I'm not sure, may be the connector for making connectivity relation with phone and pc is damaged.
try with another usb cable if possible,if the connectivity with usb is established than method in the link provided by 'mestrini' is a good option, good luck

[Q] Triangle Screw&Wrench screen Boot Looping

A friend has tasked me with restoring her phone which has been stuck on the triangle screen with a screwdriver and wrench. At first i thought it was download mode for sony but after some research from what i can pick up its formatting internal memory or something along those lines. others have solved this problem by waiting it out anywhere from 1-2 minutes to 2-3 hours. I have been running this screen plugged in for probably over six hours now and ive noticed that the progress bar at the bottom does stop and it will reboot but boots directly back into the triangle screen. it does not register on my laptop and i havent been able to boot into fastboot or download mode. Not visible through adb either.
Im pretty sure i have the correct drivers installed but if someone wanted to post a link to drivers they use and are confirmed to work please do so.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
Regarding drivers, if you download PC Companion and SUS you should be good to go....
I had the same problem once
But after charging it for 2 hours the phone restrated automatically

Lumia 710 bricked. Any help?

Ok guys,
as the title says Lumia 710 is bricked.
It had last factory update and everything was working fine. Then i had to mess with it and to try to install Rataplan V9.1.
The process was working ok. By default, bootloader was in DLOAD mode, so in order to install custom ROM i needed to upgrade to Qualcomm. I have upgraded it and installed Rataplan .nb rom to the phone with NSSPro V0.54.
This is when my problems start.
The phone starts with one long vibration followed after few seconds with one short virbtation and thats it. No screen, no system, zip!
When i try to connect it again by usb to check it with NSSPro, it always starts in NAND disk mode. It does not matter do i start it normally on power button or with volume up. Its always in NAND. And it is always stuck. While the phone is connected to USB i can see Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM device in device manager but it has yellow mark like the driver is not installed.
I have tried several other roms, and NSS always shows that the rom is successfully installed, but the phone (other than vibration and NAND mode) is dead.
I have also tried all the solutions i could find on the net but no help. Tried, nokia recovery tool, WP recovery tool, Chimera e.t.c. Nothing works. Now i have a problem with NSS. It keeps stucking and beeing unresponsive for every option except Custom OS flash. Whatever else i click it either says tha phone is not detected or the app stucks and shuts itself down.
Is there other tool i can try?
Can i do anything to recover this phone or did i kill it?
PLEASE HELP!!!
Well that sucks and it sucks no one has tried to help here. I'm fair with Android but too new to WP's to probably be much help. Can you pull the battery out of the phone? Might pull it and leave it out a couple minutes then retry. You also might try from a different computer in case something has gone wrong on your computer in terms of port communication or maybe even a virus of some sort. Good luck.

Tried allready every solution that i could find or think of, including things You described. Nothing. I was left with no other option but to send phone to service. They have a box unit with which they should be able to recover phone.
That was 2 days ago. today is third day so i am thinking that my phone has gone beyond repair. Only thing i can do is to wait and see...
Why not...?
Why not send it in real life to a windows phone expert. There should be a place to get phones repaired But, if they say that it isn't possible for them you may have rendered your phone useless. Google should be your mighty friend in this case :crying: I wish you very good luck.

Stuck in LG logo and loop

Hi guys. I have already exposed my problem as a reply on a post with similar issues and it has been bricked for more the one year, I have tried to recover it several time with no luck. I would like to try one more time before to decide to buy another smart watch.
I remember I was playing trying to unlock the watch and I made it working unlocked. Then I flashed the rom but unfortunately I chose a rom for a different watch, maybe LG urban or something, which resulted on a bricked watch. It boots but the LG icon stays for ever.
I have tried:
taping with to fingers at 10-11 and 4-5 hours on boot
swipping finger from 10-11 to 4-5 on boot
pushing the button for ever
trying to find a reset hidden button (seems there is not)
disassembling watch trying to find something strange
no way to connect to any computer. I was able to see computer detecting something plugged on usb but it refused to connect due to errors with usb-device communication (don't remember exactly which error). So nothing to do with adb
wait until charged and discharged
Pretty secure I have tried more, I am writing from a very bad memory
Do you have any advise? is there something else I can try?
cheers!
Try fastboot command during the boot...
Try flashing a new boot image.
Could you advise how to get fastboot? I mean if device is not even detected there's no way to issue commands, right?
No one? So I would have to buy a New one
Sent from my ONE A2003 using XDA Free mobile app
Try seeking warranty repair?
What do you get in device manager when you connect it over USB?
Charge battery... than Power Off.. Put it it the deep fridge to cool down..
and try to bot after that...
Mine booted.

Question Need a little help...

First time posting here. And I have tried all that i can think to do. My daughter has a Google Pixel 5a, that was not backed up to the cloud, for which she dropped and the screen doesnt work...like black screen. I have tried some of the tools to back it up, but requires USB debugging on, and I am not sure she had dev tools turned on and I cannot figure out what to do. Device seems to turn on as PC can read it. Any ideas? I am stumped. I tried the button sequence to try to get into adb fastboot but i havent had any luck yet.

Check Device Manager when the device is plugged in. If it shows up as Qualcomm something or other, the only way to recover it is via a mainboard replacement, which will wipe data.
Even with ADB/fastboot, it's not possible to back up the phone without root.
Shows up as MTP...No qualcom

I just found out from my local UBreakIFix that Google has extended their warranties for all screen issues on the Pixel 5a, which means you could get a free screen replacement. My warranty expired back in Aug 22 and they gave me a free replacement for my black screen. It was done in 20 minutes. https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/11833075?hl=en
