Hi,
I have a LGK8 that i am trying to recovery but ADB does not detect it for reasons, Anyway i want to enter Fastboot mode without a PC. I heard that To access fastboot mode, you need to press power+vol. down button for Mi Devices, but i do not know how it works on a LGK8. Any help is appreciated.

Hello All,
I have following issue and hope that - if possible - someone can help me. I also would like to mention that I am not an
Android expert but did read a lot of articles here in the forum to find out - or better - to get an idea how things are working.
My Z3C had a water damage. Now I only get fastboot mode. Display is broken and does not show anything. I installed Android-SDK
to get ADB and Fastboot. I installed also drivers.
When I connect the device while pushing the "volume down" button the device manager show me a somc flash device with the "volume up" button I see an Android ADB Interface device. However ADB is not working (no device found) only Fastboot does.
I flashed the "Z3c_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_v01_FW-105.img" with Flashtool via fastboot in the hope that I can somehow access
to "sdcard" by blindly navigating to "mount storage" but nothing seem to work.
On my linux device I see that the usb device is recognized but that it is not an mtp device.
Before I continue to spent hours without really knowing what I am doing I thought that if there is a solution I would find it here.
So if there is any way to get access to my files / pics on the device I would be really glad if someone can let me know how or
at least bring me to the right direction.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Thanks for your reply clouds5.
I followed the process to unlock the bootloader (got code from sony side and unlocked via fastboot with
"fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY").
In Flashtool, when I click on the "BLU" Icon I get a window with with my IMEI and my Unlock Code and a
Relock Button. So I assume that the bootloader is unlocked.
If there is another way to verify please let me know and I will do.
no you cannot access files via fastboot only. but isn't it possible to flash custom recovery img file and boot into recovery and access files?

I flashed "Z3c_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_v01_FW-105.img" from doomlord.xperia-files.com/download.php?dlid=WjNjX0Rvb01Mb1JEX0FkdlN0a0tlcm5lbF92MDFfRlctMTA1 with
fastboot flash boot Z3c_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_v01_FW-105.img
in the hope that it is possible but after rebooting it immediately goes into fastboot again. As I do not have
a screen I can not see anything - so I can not really confirm if it works or not - and in windows I do not see
anything either..

Should sdcard appear automatically when booting into recovery or are there any specific steps I would need to complete?
Hi,
I have a d415 that i booted into fastboot mode with and wanted to unlock bootloader with. I then found out that it was already unlocked. Now i would like to restore download incase i screw anything up. I have the laf.img. Where do i go from there? None of the commands i type in fastboot mode work, possibly because i didn't correctly install the fastboot and adb drivers. If that is the problem, can someone give me clear instructions on how to download them, thanks. Instead, i used the basic adb and fastboot files from a different thread from android sdk. Adb doesn't even work anymore for me now. Please help
Thanks a ton in advance!

Have you tried doing the process with the correct drivers installed? (I have not done this method, but it could be driver related) See here for drivers
EDIT: at the bottom of your EDL thread it does state you need the Qualcom drivers installed, not sure if they're the same as the ones i linked to, but the ones in that thread are here
Also, this post may be of some use to you, might wanna read the rest of the thread too for tips...
'I read somewhere that you must start the EDL unlocking process as soon as you run the fastboot command to boot it into EDL mode. It wouldn't run correctly for me at first, but then I rebooted into fastboot, ran the enter dload command, then immediately ran the unlocker (or if it fails because your device hasn't entered EDL mode just yet, keep spamming it).
I have no idea why that's the case but it worked for me.'
Hey everybody
My friend gave me his Mi 9t Pro to repair it as he bricked it accidentally and he knew I had experience with changing ROMs and recoveries.
From what I know, what he did is tried to change dpi and then phone jumped into bootloop.
Let me just state that:
- bootloader is locked
- there is no custom recovery
- I have no authorization for ADB
I am stuck and would be really thankful for any ideas. Wiping data is not an option at the moment as we want to recover data from the phone.
Dropping battery to 0% and then charging didn't work.
Adb is only possible at the very short moment phone gets into boot animation, but as I have no authorization I can't pull files from it.
For whatever I tried ADB sideload when connected with Mi Assistant in recovery didn't help me neither.
If you have any ideas please share them with me, I'll appreciate that a lot

I can't see any way you're going to keep the data. Recovering the phone is going to wipe everything. Without an unlocked bootloader I can't see any way your going to be able to access the data first before restoring the phone.
As far as restoring the phone, if you can access the official recovery, then you should, hopefully, be able to flash an official recovery ROM from there, or so I believe, I've never actually tried it.
If that fails, then you will need to EDL flash the phone.
This involves taking off the back to put the phone in EDL mode, then paying someone, who has an authorised account, to remotely flash the phone for you.

Yeah, that's kinda hard situation :/
I can't really flash recovery ROM, cause official recovery has no option for that and adb sideload didn't want to install 'update.zip'. just rebooted the phone and that's all.
I've seen that it's actually possible to put device into EDL without having to disassemble the phone, but fastboot command just reboots the phone.
Thanks for answering either way

I tried through MiFlash, but it only allows fastboot ROMs, and because bootloader is not unlocked I couldn't flash it. But that's a good idea, I'll try Mi PC Suite, I'll let you know how it ends.

I tried, but seeing that mipcsutie is same program as mi assistant, I cannot do anything because it doesn't recognize my phone.
Which version? I'm using https://c.mi.com/thread-1015363-1-0.html on Redmi 6 (locked bootloader & bootloop) and successfully restore. Make sure you've correct driver installed.

Because not possible if your bootloader was locked to enter EDL mode, then AFAIK you need Mi Account with authorization to flashing with EDL mode.

Are you talking phones in general, or this phone specifically. For this phone the only way is to take the back off and do the 'Test point' method. I've never heard of anyone successfully entering EDL mode using any other method.

ADB sideload needs the phone to be put into ADB sideload mode first, so to speak. This is why you have the ADB sideload option in TWRP. You don't have this option in the standard recovery.

Also make sure you're using a good USB cable and also try a different USB port.
Also try using your friends PC. I assume they have previously connected the phone to the PC successfully before, so they should have the correct drivers already installed.

If you connect via 'Mi Assistan' option in recovery the phone connects to pc using adb sideload.
I tried different cables and ports, and I have correct drivers.

In this case your only option now is to EDL flash. Sorry. Search for guides on how to do this, within these forums. XDA admins have been removing contact details of anyone with an authorised account, who will remotely flash for you. These people charge for doing this, so it's against XDA policy to give details of people who perform paid for services. You will find recent posts from people who've got details of these people who can EDL flash, that will kindly allow you too PM them for details of such persons.

AFAIK, USB debugging not required just adb sideload to work.
Have you tried looking at the .bat files miflash executes from the fastboot images. You can flash system etc.. without dating perhaps this will reset the dpi
I've already google it, and my phone keep rebooting to the main system.
FYI, my bootloader is still locked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanksss

Turn off your phone.
Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons together and immediately connect the device to your PC. You need to time it perfectly.
It will automatically boot into EDL mode.

Try getting into fastboot, and:
Code:
fastboot reboot emergency
If you don't succeed, then the phone itself doesn't have EDL mode.

Yes, I think this phone doesn't have EDL mode.. But, FYI the command is correct, but it still go straight to the OS..
F you Xiaomi, what is your goal to make us to wait 168hour just to unlock the bootloader??? F YOU!!!
If you still have warranty you can get fixed from a Xiaomi service center for free, however if now I'm sure they'd still fix it maybe for a small fee
try:
Code:
fastboot oem edl

All Qualcomm devices have EDL mode, on locked bootloader, you can't boot as easy as pressing any buttons or through ADB/fastboot commands, you need to unlock it firstly, or using the test point method.
In all my previous unlocked Xiaomi devices I have booted to EDL mode by pressing both volume buttons, I didn't try it with this device though.
