I had originally posted this post in the Android Noob Friendly Thread but was referred to this place by a helpful XDA member.
Here is my original request:
"Hey All,
My Moto's Headphone Jack has stopped detecting when earbuds are plugged in. I found an app to fix it, but unfortunately, it breaks in android O. Wish someone could provide a code that can be run through Tasker to enable and disable Forced Audio Routing.
Thanks!"
Any help will be appreciated!
Thank You.
what app did you use?

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if you would be able to help me. I am looking for a car kit for my XDA but am not sure which one to get. I have found several online, but am unsure of their quality or exact features, mainly because most of them are in German and the online translations aren't always clear.
What I am ideally looking for is one that:
· Has a cradle for charging the XDA
· Has a separate microphone to have attached by the drivers door
· Have the call transmitted through the cars speakers
· Have the radio mute when incoming call and restore following call (would be nice, but not essential)
Currently I am looking at this one:

Please let me know if you know of any better ones that satisfy any more of my criteria.
Thanks everybody.
Hi everybody,
Well I thought I solved my problem, but the guz who wanted to help me, let me down.
I wanted to make a good handsfree for the xda. I let go from the idea that I could involve my car stereo (no in at the device) so I wanted to make a solution with a seperate loudspeaker and a seperate microfone.
But the guy said to me that he will not take the risk...
What risk?
I myself have no technical abilities at all :-(
Cant solder have no idea about how to solve it. The solutions offered on the market seem to be verry bad and expensive. Bad sound, bad micro etc. I also wanted to involve a GPS mouse in the system.
It is clear to me how it should work, but I cant do it, being such an technical looser. If I would have to solder anything I would have one big bunch of connections, soldered together.
I have money I could pay for it....If I have to.....
Anyone there who thinks he could help me?
Please, I am desperate and lost...
Thanks
WK
maybe that bring some explanation as far as audio ....
cables are concerned, the little descriptive reading show you different audio options you can consider for you in-the-car equipment

Hi Monica,
Thanks a bunch.Tough it was not exactly what I was looking for it helped me further a bit.
I wanted to make a car kit for my car. But as I look deeper in the subject I might go for a headset. Is there any way to get the plugs in europe?
I would like to get one, but ordering it in the US will cost a fortune.
Any idea?
Thanks
WK
WK, i'm currently in the process of building a fully featured car kit for the XDA, I'm waiting on a PCB at the moment, but as soon as it arrives I will be trying to get the project finished.
The solution uses an external mic (not the XDA's) and provides line out via RCA's, and finally a telephone mute signal for incar stereo.
I will post when the project is complete, and if all goes well, I can put together some sort of guide for you guy's if you wish..
Cheers
Neil

Hi Neil
I'm in the phase of making experiments with my XDA1 and external car kits.
I already prepared a XDA connector with a 2Mt cable that have all the connector signal:
-Power supply
-Car on wire
-Mic in
-Stereo Out
-RS232 (for my GPS mouse)
-USB (for future use like external HD!)
I'm now tring to find a solution for the "radio muting"
Can you give me infos on where you find the project?
Bye
I am keen also to get more info on that

I just purchased a bluetooth earpiece for my IIi in the hopes that I could stream music through it. APPARENTLY, the BT device only suppors the handsfree profile, which means all it's good for is to relay PHONE CALLS. I don't use the phone that often so it seems that I wasted my money. Anyone know a solution to get the phone to reroute music to the BT device if it's possible?
many possible solutions to your problem
There are many possible solutions to your problem and many software. Go to the following blog by Menneisyys (the expert!!) and look for a blog that tells you everything about redirecting audio to headsets.
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3
You rock! I will definitely check that site out, thanks a bunch!
EDIT: Argh, I am an idiot. I tried a crapload of tweaks to get it to play on my earpiece when all it took...get this, was a push of the function button on the earpiece. The icon on screen immediately changed, and now I'm listening to Jingle Bell Rock at pretty decent quality on my headset. Thanks anyways peeps!
Great to be of help.. Merry Christmas... Now, don't you want listen to Jingle Bell Rock in Stereo instead of mono? It's also working fine now, just that you will have to find the correct hack for your phone.. It took me 6 months to get mine..
Guys, same problem here
can somebody show the link again please
Unable to find it on previously posted link

come on guys, use the search function... we are losing senior members because of this repeated questions...
Hello,
I really would like to use my "normal" headphones for making calls together with the internal mic. Everytime when I am listen to music and someone is calling me, I've to unplug the headphones...:-( Another example is: I've connected my samsung to my car via "aux-in" to listen to music over my loadspeaker in my car.
That would something like a hands-free system
So... I think/hope this is just a software problem and somebody here is able to manage this??
Thanks in advance!
kedek
I cant see anything about android development... We have a section for questions and answers! Please use the right sections!
if you want...
but I think we need developers to get this working...!?
there's already a thread about this. with an alternative hardware fix.

The guidelines for the proper location to post new threads is clearly outlined in the "STOP!! Before You Post, Read This NOW!!" thread at the top of the forum section:
Post What Where:
General - general technical discussion items, news, anything else that does not fit into the other fora categories.
Q&A (Questions and Answers) - all questions, irrespective of type, get posted in here whether they be theme related, accessory related, technical, etc.
Accessories - any items to do with components and/or accessories relating to your device.
Rom Development - only meant for very advanced technical discussion directly related to ROM development activity and the delivery of actual ROMs and ROM components ONLY. Nothing else goes in here.
Themes & Apps - anything to do directly with the development of themes and/or applications. Nothing else goes in here.

a fix that surely won't fix the problem with car Aux in, as the gain of the earphone mic is poor.
I think that doing a sw fix for the problem(listening through earphones, talking to the regular mic) will be appreciated by lots of people.
Sorry for posting in a wrong section...

But anyway... this hardware fix will not fix the problem in my car.
And I think a lot of other users wants to get this working? And thats the point why we need developers...
I think theoretically this should be possible..

Which hardware fix are you talking about ? Using an adapter like Nokia AD-54 works with any 3.5mm headphone or audio out (including auxiliary line of a card audio system).
Other option is to use an A2DP BT car kit or a BT clip (like this).
Ok thanks... if this is the only solution, I will try it
But I also would like to have a software solution ...someday
Hi,
I have samsung vibrant, and have car stereo with bt handsfree, the problem is that the microphone of the car stereo has bad quality, the other side can't hear me.
The vibrant's mic is very good even if the phone is far away
My question is how I can disable bluetooth mic and use the phone internal one? Only the audio from the phone will be routed to the car stereo?
I searched all over the net but nothing, just a lot that searching solution like me.
Searched in android api for microphone disable, there is only mute procedure, no route/disabling.
Maybe some hack, I played with audio service menu of the sgs not found something there
Don't want use aux port for this
Please developers put attention that thing is usefull for a lot of users
Thanks
