I have rom 1.37.707.1.WWE running for more than 3 weeks. I also had CE-Star stalled. I also selected the China (PRC) as in the region and having calender display month in Chinese. All a sudden from today, I found it switched to English and I found that the selection for China is gond in the region selection list.
Any suggestion what had happend? I do not want to do hard-rest though.
Thanks in advance.

check to see if you have the right wince.nls in your device\temp or device\windows\ folder. check if you have reloadnls.exe or usemynls.exe in your windows\startup\ folder.
if any of the above is missing, you will lose china in your region setting.
I have checked and found no directory has these two files. Now the question is how it worked before? What are these files? How can I get these files?
It is because your CE star is just expired! Click Registration icon in the CE star program folder and register by the serial number provided. The registration need internet connection so please open your wifi / GPRS / ActiveSync, etc.
Thanks. I did the registration and it worked. Apprently after I reflashed the rom, I have reinstalled the CE-Start but did not do the registration. It seems to remember the previous registration that I did according to the email address that I submitted. I did make a mistake in the email address and it did not allow me to registration to go through until the email address is corrected.
Now everything is back now. Thanks for help.
Exactly. After my CE Star 15 days trial expired, I lost all the Chinese options in the region setting. Meanwhile, my SMS and email got scewed up which can not open any email or SMS message. Initially I thought it was related to the Spb phone suite which I just installed the night before. Actually it was not.
I have tried to re-register my CE Star 2.8R3c with those key-gen softwares or replace it with the well known Leies CE Star(re-packed CE Star). Neither of them works. My CE Star still said not registered. It seems my WM6.1 registry has been marked somewhere. Maybe doing hard reset to the ROM then installing the Leies CE Star will work. But I didn't try that yet because I don't want to reinstall everything.
Eventually, I paid for the CE Star and got it officially registered. Now it worked perfect as before.
Saw that someone had posted about HTCMail being available to French users, but it seems to be available "in Europe" generally (German, English, Spanish, French, Italian - NOT Czech, Dutch or Russian yet)
Go to http://www.europe.htc.com/, select your language from the top right of the page (if not English), then click on the HTCMail tab. You can then register; the first stage of this is an IMEI check to ensure that you're using a Kaiser/TyTn II/etc.., then you can go on to choose "[email protected]".
The first two months are free, after which time it will automatically terminate your account if you don't sign up for a paid account (starting from €14.99 a month)....only ***** is that you can't download a copy of Outlook 2007 unless you pay some money.....
Still, it's gotta be worth a look for a freebie (lovin' the OWA2007 interface )
Oh, and you may want to backup your existing Exchange ActiveSync settings and associated mailbox on your Kaiser; the sign-up process downloads an HTC app that you install to your device that configures the Exchange ActiveSync/Direct Push....AND DELETES ANYTHING YOU ALREADY HAVE!!!
Like I said, it's worth a look...hell, what's another email account when you've got 9 already
Cheers,
Mark.
Hi guys,
first of all apologies for advertising this little software I wrote on these pages. If it isnt allowed, mods please remove this.
I have recently published a little app I wrote. Name is TellyZap and you can find it on the market in two flavours: a Lite version and a Pro version.
heres the Lite version:
http://www.androlib.com/android.appl...lite-xtxq.aspx
and the Pro:
http://www.androlib.com/android.appl..._pro-xtxj.aspx
They both support 67 channels, european channels for the moment, however I thought that with satellite/digital becoming very popular very quick, some europeans could have a use for it too.
TellyZap allows you to view a full programme listing for the 7 days from the date of consultation. Has categories (soap, documentaries, movie etc..) and will give you a description of the program, time, channel etc.
the Lite version is limited to the day of consultation, and will not show the programme description, but only its title and time of airing.
The Pro version allows also to send a programme to one of your contacts in form of an SMS or Email. It also allows you to send your favourite programme to your calendar so you wont miss it !
I hope some of you will try it, and let me know your feedback. If you find any issues/bugs or have requests I will be glad to entertain them, just drop me an email at the address specified in the market, of pm me here.
And if you find it useful, I wont stand in the way of a little contribution for my work.
thanks for reading!

Hello, I am using my Vibrant in Brazil and the phones which should be stored and presented as "054-9976-XXXX" or "054-9976XXXX" - i.e. 3 digits area code plus 8 digits phone number, are showing as "054-997-6XXXX". Is there a way to change the android system number format?
anyone????
Try changing your phone language to english UK, that seem to do the trick for me.
But no dashes tough...

Hi Colinxu,
Thanks in advance!
This is the text:
Allows you to easily call with pre-configure calling cards.
ATTENTION: it can make your international, long-distance and mobile calls up to 98% CHEAPER!!!
An important PECULIARITY of this program:
With the ability to use MULTIPLE "calling cards" you can make your calls EVEN CHEAPER! For example, when calling to France you can use a card "ABC" (because it is the cheapest tariff for calls to this country), and for calls to China card "XYZ" (also because of the price or better communication).
All you need is to enter just once the data of the "calling cards" you use (access number, PIN etc.) and to define rules and exceptions to choice them.
You can proceed with using your favorite apps of contacts or dials-up. LS Calling Cards catches "expensive" phone numbers due to preset rules and redirect them to access numbers from "calling cards".
Features of this program:
The concept of LS Calling Cards is "don't force the user to do that what you (the app) can do". This program, for example, can:
* identify codes of countries by name;
* identify the type of number (mobile, landline etc.) in those countries, where it's possible, using only the phone number;
* identify the regional prefix , that stays before the national code of the country (for example, 011 in the USA, 00 in the EU).
* automatically switch between the rules (cards) at the BORDER CROSSINGS (not for CDMA!)
* automatically switch between the rules (cards) when changing SIM-cards
* adapt a rule to the type of number from the phone book. For example, when you have free phone calls within your network "XYZ" you can change the type of number in your phone book from "mobile" to "XYZ" and then register appropriate exception in LS Calling Cards. After that the app will dial this number directly.
* regex (expert mode)
You can use ANY COMBINATION from the following phone cards: Tesco, easybell, WORLD CALLS, WORLD ACCESS, GLOBAL CONNECT, Bingo, GO BANANAS, BALABOLKA, FOX FLAT, Goupil, Linea, MobileCall, Mox, Merkur, Rebtel, vonage, Betamax, Finarea, Dellmont, 12voip, actionvoip, budgetsip, budgetvoip, budgetvoipcall, calleasy, callingcredit, callpirates, cheapbuzzer, cheapvoip, cheapvoipcall, cosmovoip, dialcheap, dialnow, discountcalling, easycallback, easyvoip, freecall, fastvoip, freevoipdeal, frynga, globalfreecall, hotvoip, internetcalls, intervoip, jumblo, justvoip, lowratevoip, megavoip, mobyler, netappel, nonoh, pennyconnect, poivy, powervoip, rebvoice, rynga, scydo, sipdiscount, smartvoip, smsdiscount, smslisto, stuntcalls, supervoip, sparvoip, telbo, voipalot, voicetrading, voipan, voipblast, voipbuster, voipbusterpro, voipcaptain, voipcheap, voipcheap, voipchief, voipdiscount, voipgain, voipjumper, voiphit, voipmove, voipraider, voipsmash, voipstunt, voipwise, voipyo, voipzoom, webcalldirect and more other!
