Hello,
Recently I noticed my P20 Pro has the super quick charge disable (see picture), but it's normally impossible, so, is it my phone or the charger ?
Thanks

Supercharge requires 3 things:
Phone
Cable
Charger
and all of them must be compatible. In your situation, either the charger or the cable aren't supercharge compatible. Also cable, a normal USB-C is NOT enough to enable supercharge mode.

Check that you don't have dust/lint clogging up the usb-c port.

What region and model is your phone? remember that some region, like India, didn't receive the supercharge included with the original package. it could be the case with yours.

Hi, I recently bought the htc one international version.
I installed android revolution hd ROM and the elemantalx kernel.
While charging, I am having a notification stuck in status bar "Slow charging, to charge faster, use the original charge"
How can I resolve this issue ?
Thanks
try to use another charger and see if it disappears. maybe you need a new one. if it's not related to the charger, try to flash another rom and see if it's still there. don't know what else you could do..

You're hooked up to a weak charger. You get that message when the phone can't draw all the current it needs.
I received the same message as the OP as i use my notebook to charge my One though i have only see it once.
John.
I'm having what sounds like the same problem. Plugging in the charger gives me a pop-up message, and then there's a permanent message in the notification area. Does anyone know exactly what is causing this? The charger I'm using is supposed to be able to deliver 2A: if the problem is that actually it can't even deliver 1A then I need to get it replaced; if it's the phone being stupid then it would be helpful to know why it's doing it.

Surely any modern smartphone limits the current that it draws to what it can use?
But actually I wasn't proposing to use it to charge my phone regularly, anyway, I just hooked it up as a test. What I actually want it for is charging an external battery which is capable of drawing a full 2A from a mains charger. If the reason I'm getting the message is because the charger can't deliver even 1A, then I need to know that!
It would also be handy to know what the cause is if I ever do buy an extra charger for the phone... so I can avoid running into the same problem then.
I like my gadgets, i have ordered one of these usb adapters, it show`s the amount of power your phone/device is pulling from the usb port/adapter it has 5 bars showing up to 5 watts or 1000ma.
They are $19 each + $5 for international posting.

John.
HTC assumes the thing on the end of a USB cable can deliver 0.5A unless the data pins are shorted, then it assumes 1A.
I.e., if a charging device doesn't connect the data pins, the phone will only draw up to 0.5A.
I bought another usb adapter, that has the pins shorted inside, you just plug it into your usb adapter and then plug your normal usb cable into it, so you get maximum charge rate from any usb port.

Is that a full-size USB connector, or micro-USB? Can't really see from the picture.
It`s full size, no other adapter needed.

That won't help me with my present situation, as the charger has a hardwired micro-USB plug and nothing else.
Interesting for other situations, though.
If there were something similar that was micro-USB to micro-USB that might work.

It`s a pity you cannot enable/disable the qualcomm quick charge as i prefer a slow charge as fast charging produces more heat and is bad for the battery life as fitting a new battery is an return to htc job, I have heard it`s about a 1/3 faster?.
John.
Yeah it's much faster now after the 4.2.2 update. And also, before the update my phone used to charge in usb mode in both my apple chargers and my extra battery packs. Now, it charges on ac mode, thankfully. This leads me to believe that qualcomm quick charge is turned on because in their website one of the features of this is power source detection (it knows whether it's a usb source or ac).

It's per a support statement from HTC that I found the first time I got that warning:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38754739&postcount=8
Apparently it's trying to activate quick charging, and if it can't, you get that notification.

"Fast charging" is simply charging at the AC rate via USB. It's no different than having it plugged into the wall.

I assume that you're thinking that super/fast charging will damage the battery?
Well the simple answer to that is yes it will (usually because of the higher battery temperatures fast charging produces), but with the modern safeguards in the phone and charger I doubt you'd notice the difference over the lifespan of the phone.
I've got an old HTC M8 that has only ever been quick charged and doesn't seem to have suffered unduly in battery capacity for a phone over 3 years old.
Thanks. Maybe you know how I enable volte in my device?
Is Europe version.
Huawei recommends that you don't use Normal usb charger as THIS may damage the phone..

No that's a qualcomm product. This doesn't use a qualcomm CPU. It has a faster form of charging called Huawei Supercharge.

U have to use Huawei original super car charger for this to work. Quickcharge 3.0 can be use but only give you normal slow charge.

Yeh just seems a good idea to have one that also supports Quick Charge as other family members have Samsung devices with Qualcomm processors.
Anker Powerport Speed 5 is working perfectly in Super Charge on the 2 USB Quick Charge 3 and Super Charge (slower) on the 3 other USB slots
Does it detect as fast charge or slow charge on the Anker powerport?
i'm using a Mi powerbank pro, it supports QC3.0 and also huawei fast charge, not as fast as super charge, but it'll get the job done.

Is that the first generation or the second generation?
Original charger hits 1700mA while Quick Charger 3.0 hits 2300mA. Screenshots below. I'd like to know if anyone else has done a similar test so we can compare results. I bought a (supposedly) Quick Charger 3.0. The results are obviously better but I'm not sure if its supposed to be higher or not.
SD660 can even do Quick Charge 4, but for Mi A2 officially only in india.

Global version might need a patch.
This this means that we can use Quick Charger 3.0 or 4.0 without harming phone's battery?

Exactly! i really don't know how that works.. Does that mean that the original charger is somehow a quick charger?
Empirical evidence suggests that Oreo seems to show "charging rapidly" anytime amperage is above 1 amp or so, it has nothing to do with using a quick charger or the original brick supporting quick charge.

No guys. I found:
0 - 999 mA = charging slowly
1000 - 1499 mA = charging
>> 1500 = Charging rapidly
Not sure if MiA2 use the same parameter.
Nice, I was gonna say 1500 cause that was kind of what I remembered but wasn't totally sure. 1.5A is typically rapid enough to charge with relative speed even while the device is in use which is probably why that was picked. I agree that they should probably provide a reading above 2A to signify quick charging as "charging rapidly" is definitely confusing.

Hallo to everybody
i bought one magnetic cable (Type USB C)
but i'm surprised to discover that it doesn't charge the phone
when i connect it, the phone swtich on (if it was in standby) but the arrow on the battery doesn't appear, and the battery isn't charged
i tryed the same cable with other device, and it does work
any suggestion ?
p.s.
the cable i bought was this (cable on amazon)
did you tried to turn it 180 degree?
I was thinking of buying magnetic of ebay but I'm afraid to use that. not so much about the not charging but to damage my brand new A2 if the cable quality is c*ap which in 99% for these cheap ones off china is IMO.
I'm using a Netdot magnetic cable with my Aukey QC3.0 charger, both bought from Amazon. Although it's not quite as fast as the regular Xiaomi cable, it's still way faster than the standard in box charger and also(which is rare for magnetic cables)it works for data too.

yes i tryed to rotate (180°) both the usb-c piece plugged-in into the phone and the piece attached to the cable
the only thing that happens is that the led is switched on (white, fixed).
but the battery is not cherged
