Ive found a working and safe odin, but now the issue im running into is the files to input, i had a bl, ap, cp, csc, and even a pit i found all from the same site to which i downloaded and unzipped. But it was unsuccessful and failed, but i knew it was about 50/50 on whether they were working or not. My model (verizon s3 mini SM-G730V) is hard to find but im hoping somebody here would feel free to point me in the direction of bl, ap, cp, csc, and pit bundle thats legit and working.

Try this : https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=DE6BD52AE29B11E69215FA163EE8F90B
Use the firmware from there, and follow the instructions listed there, I really hope it works for you that way.

Hi,
My wife got me a Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 for my birthday. We live in China so it's a international model with CHN firmware preinstalled, which I updated from Froyo to Gingerbread using Samsung Kies.
The update was successful but unfortunately the Android Marketplace app (and Google Mail, and Google Maps, and Google anything) isn't included with this firmware (and Samsung Apps doesn't work just on wifi without a SIM card!) so I'm looking to flash it to XEU (Europe) and hoping that the XEU firmware includes all the Google apps... so I will be able to use my Tab as more than just a web browser.
I tried the Kies Registry Patcher to spoof the current firmware to an old XEU firmware (I used this string: "P1000XWJJ3/P1000XEUJJ3/P1000XXJID/P1000XWJJ3") and this worked as far as Kies recognising it as an out-of-date XEU firmware and telling me that there is an upgrade available. But after telling Kies to go ahead, I get this error: "the latest version is already installed on connected device". This then gets stuck in a loop - as long as I'm still spoofing the old firmware version, Kies tells me there is an upgrade available, but the update fails with the same message each time. When I stop spoofing, Kies goes back to normal, recognising that I have the latest Chinese firmware installed.
Q1: is there a fix for the error message above?
Not having any luck with Kies, I downloaded Check Fus and downloaded the latest XEU firmware (this one: P1000XWJMI/P1000XEUJM5/P1000XXJMA/P1000XWJMI) and now I have a TAR file which I unpacked and found lots of useful-looking files:
boot.bin
cache.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
hidden.rfs
modem.bin
P1_add_hidden.pit
param.lfs
Sbl.bin
zImage
I have Odin v1.7 but no idea how to configure it correctly to use the firmware I downloaded. I don't want to brick the device by flashing it incorrectly.
Q2: is there a guide to Odin so I can be sure to set it up correctly?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers,
Larry
Hi Larry,
I upgraded mine recently and the thread is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291217
Down the page is a thread by bongski55 which has link for Overcome.
and Homey, on page 3 of the thread has a great post with a You Tube link!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291217&page=3
There are lots of other threads about ODIN and the procedure to follow..
This thread might have good information
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193064
I had a bricked tablet at that time, and got lots of advice there..
Good luck,
Ofiaich
Thanks Ofiaich, I reviewed the threads and despite not being able to access the video on youtube (even through my VPN... thanks China!) I found sufficient instructions to give it a shot.
Download mode is easy - hold volume-down and power until the "Android at Work" yellow triangle shows on device - plug it in, then run Odin.
Looks like Odin only needs a couple of things:
1. PIT file (goes in PIT section)
2. TAR file (goes in PDA section)
And the PIT file is in the TAR file
Hit start.
Currently in download mode, hooked up through Odin and flashing the ROM I downloaded from Samsung earlier.
Will post back to let you know how it went. Fingers crossed.
Cheers,
Larry

The progress bars (on device about 5% complete; in Odin about 50% complete) haven't apparently made any progress in the (roughly) 15 minutes since Odin started flashing the hidden.rfs file. Granted that's the largest (343MB) file in the set to flash but long pauses make me nervous. Anyway, a problem shared and all that. I'm going to have a cup of tea and wait a bit more. Maybe it's using USB 1.0 for the transfer and Odin only updates the progress bar when the file completes (not during...).
L
Still stuck on hidden.rfs. Is it really supposed to take this long? I don't want to (actually, can't see any way to) interrupt it without unplugging the device or killing Odin. That sounds like a fast way to brick... but I can only wait until it's out of power anyway. Suppose I could leave it overnight.
Just for interest, I did a comparison of the size of the contents of the two ROMs I downloaded. First one is the one direct from Samsung (which I am trying to flash now). I downloaded that using Check Fus. It's apparently the latest XEU firmware. Second one is the P1000XXJQ1 firmware from samfirmware.com which is the latest that they have, but I suspect it's a bit old... which is why I'm trying the Check Fus one instead.

Well, the first flash I did got stuck on the hidden.rfs partition for over an hour so I killed Odin and that got me to the same soft brick state as described in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193064
Lucky it was you Ofiaich who had that problem earlier and had already referred me to a thread with the strange "download mode" graphic (cartoon phone that can't connect to a computer). So, recognising that, I followed the instructions to unbrick on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133590
I reflashed again using the samfirmware.com ROM and the Odin flash went well (completed in about 3 minutes), the Tab rebooted, showed me the Galaxy Tab boot logo but has now got stuck at the Samsung "pulsing light" OS logo.
So now I'm guessing the XEU firmware doesn't work on the device I've got. Which is a pity because although I guess I can flash back to the Chinese firmware, I'm not sure if I can get Google apps now...
Any more tips appreciated.
Cheers,
Larry
problems Overcome
Last update today...
I've followed the instructions at http://p1000.teamovercome.net/?page_id=64 to get from non-booting image to a stock ROM which was working - Marketplace present and working
I decided to take the next step and go through with the Overcome update too and that is all working nicely.
Thanks to Ofiaich for the pointers.
Cheers,
Larry
Hi Larry!
I am glad those pointers helped! I received a lot of help from people in those threads and during the flashing procedures, was aware of a twinge of panic in my ascending colon, but now am very happy with my tablet!
Only trouble now is a young friend wants to steal it from me for her school work!
You live in China?
Oh! I hope to visit Shanghai --> Qindao -> Beijing, next May and travel with my Japanese friend. Hope to meet my friends in Qindao and Beijing!
I need to learn about China's bullet trains, overseas rail passes, and oh! Everything! I can only speak a little Mandarin!
Any advice and pointers about, what will be my first trip to China, much appreciated
Ofiaich
Yes, Beijing. Which is why I was a little surprised that my WCDMA Tab worked with the Overcome ROM which clearly says: "of course, it will not work for CDMA models!". Maybe it just means the USA CDMA models, not the China WCDMA?
On-topic content completed I can now blether about China. Actually, better than posting lots of off-topic chat here, how to contact you directly? Is there a private message in this forum or any way to swap email addresses without exposing them to spam bots?

*EDIT 2018 January so you don't need to read 7 billion pages of this thread*
It took 3 months but I finally figured out how to get T-Mobile Wifi Calling to work properly on the N950N's firmware.
Please see this thread for the patch updates: [MOD] Exynos T-Mobile CSC Wifi Calling, VoLTE etc for N950N / N950F
Trying to get wifi calling working with my SM-N950N (South Korean model from SK Telecom) to work on T-Mobile here, and as I understand it we need the proper CSC flashed.
Now, I probably am just overlooking something (hopefully) but can't seem to get this phone to take. I downloaded both firmwares from Sammobile (paid for a month premium membership),
pulled the cache.img.ext4 file out of the TMB CSC tar.md5,
pulled the PIT file out of the Korean CSC .tar.md5,
in the PIT changed the file name from cache.img (original) to match the TMB file name cache.img.ext4 and adjusted the partition size and block value for the CSC partition,
adjusted the block values for the 4 partitions listed after it to account for the double sized new one
built a new .tar.md5 with the modified Korean CSC PIT file, the TMB cache.img.ext4 file, and the omr.img file that was in the original Korean CSC .tar.md5
I tried this with and without Re-partition checked, tried adding the remaining files into each field (BL, AP, etc) along with it, and tried an old 1.87 version of Odin (mainly trying to use 3.12.7 from Sammobile).
No matter what I try Odin errors immediately saying that repartitioning failed.
Any suggestions as to how I can get this to flash?
following, Also have the South Korea version and i want to Change Csc and debrand it
been poking around with a few things at work today, was able to get some settings changed by granting an app secure write permissions over ADB but I am even more convinced that the CSC needs to be flashed somehow. I got into some currently-hidden menus with settings for IMS, VoLTE, and WiFi calling but some of them crash if you try to enable it, others are disabled, and others pretend to be doing something before reverting back to 'off'.
I'll look into this more tomorrow and ask on Sammobile to broaden the knowledge pool.

On the SM-N950N you can only flash -N- firmware!
Don't mess around with other FW's!

I know from experience and XDA that this is false. I'm not sure if you're aware of what we do here on XDA but flashing different and custom firmware is the name of the game.
If you're afraid of that, best stick to your OEM updates and keep misinformed comments to yourself.
Can anyone who knows about this stuff think of what step i may be missing here? I don't understand why it won't repartition in Odin, but as far as I can tell this should be working since i adjusted the sizes in the PIT file to match the larger CSC partition.

I know exactly what I'm talking about: I'm NOT a NOOB!
I'm talking about OFFICIAL Firmwares, NOT Custom-ROM's (which will trigger KNOX!)
"Mis-informed comments"? Well: talk to Samsung engineers -> they know these stuff better than you!

Well sir, you are replying to my thread with false information. I am working to flash a USA T-Mobile CSC to my Korean model phone. It can be done, and I am asking for people who know more about this than I currently do for suggestions.
You obviously don't know at least more than me, since you felt it prudent ti post your false claim that only firmware created by Samsung for a specific model can be flashed to that model. I respect your right do do whatever you want with your phone, but your words are not true and you're not helping anyone by posting them in my thread here.
I never said I cared about KNOX (which I don't, I have a phone sold in a country on the other side of Earth, and I am on XDA which generally means I prefer modifying my devices).
Thank you and good day, but please don't post false information. People can flash whatever they want to their phones, regardless of what you or Samsung might wish.
Don't try to be smart...!

It might have something to do with different processor. The US CSC is for snapdragon and the SK CSC for the Exynos. Just a thought.

Yeah, I had suspected that but on the S8 forums someone specifically said that CSC were universal and that you can switch between them on Snapdragon and Exynos models.
In any case, I did finally get it to work via flash able zip but also learned that the CSC on these latest flagship models is just a folder /system/csc/ that you can overwrite the entire contents of with a file manager once you have root.
After that and a reboot, phone info apps now show the correct available CSCs but still show SKC as the loaded one so I'm close but 1 step away. The IMS settings app has all the T-mobile data now, but I still can't confirm VoLTE or wifi calling and that settings app shows no IMS profiles registered still.
Getting close, I just wish one of these smart developers would give me a hand so I knew more what I was doing :good:
per this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71192951&postcount=5226
I fixed the folder and file permissions, as well as replaced the OMC folder contents to match a T-Mobile phone as well.
That REALLY made it angry. upon reboot I couldn't get any cell service and it said there was no SIM card installed, on top of other Korean provider apps now appearing (instead of just the SK Telecom apps that were initially visible).
So I'm guessing that these phones go by the OMC rather than CSC but since replacing that made it not work at all I'm a little unsure of how to proceed.
I copied the stock OMC files back over, fixing permissions per that thread, rebooted and now I'm back to where I was before replacing the OMC folder contents. Phone works fine, i get fast LTE but still no wifi calling or VoLTE that I can tell, and the IMS is not registering (which is probably the cause of both).
After reading this thread about the S8's: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/adding-att-volte-wifi-calling-t3599439/page5
I copied the Tmobile OMC files over again, fixed permissions, and edited /efs/imie/mps_code.dat, and changed it to TMB and rebooted. Got the Tmobile boot screen instead of SK Telecom (along with annoying T-jingle sound), but phone app FQs indefinitely, no network service, and I can't view mobile networks. Trying to view more connection settings closes the settings app.
however, Phone Info app now shows Original CSC: TMB, Firmware CSC: XAA, Active CSC: TMB but Product Code, Available CSC Codes, and Mobile Operator are now blank.
Getting really close here, but it seems like there are probably some other files that need to be copied over, and I am not sure what they are. Thinking perhaps stuff to do with the T-Mobile variant's apps/settings apps.
Thoughts?
Good news - almost everything is working thanks to the good folks in the S8 forums per this CSC changer zip: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...lashable-csc-selection-v1-1-0-t3636739/page31
On a hunch I tried to just run it and see what happened. After repackaging his zip after replacing the XAA and TMB omc folders within it from those from an SM-N950U T-Mobile ROM, I used my modified version to update to TMB and this time no crashing on bootup, LTE still working, Wifi still working, and as far as I can tell VoLTE is working because it didn't drop me from LTE to 3g when making a voice call, though I do not see a VoLTE icon or any VoLTE menu options still.
Not sure if working: Wifi Calling, as I don't see an icon or menu options either, but running the Tmobile WFC settings app with a shortcut app showed that it was enabled but the toggle is greyed out, but I made a call with mobile data supposedly turned off and WiFi on and it said it was an HD Voice call in the dialer. Oh and the dialer claims to be new and for video calling, but I don't know anyone on Tmobile with video calling to test that out.
If I can confirm that WiFi calling is somehow working then this solves all the problems for us importing Exynos models.
Hey can you share your script? Mine is having issue making calls on t mobile.

yeah I am trying to find a way to upload it, even after deleting a bunch of the S8 stuff from it, it's still 361mb. I'll see if I can delete out anything else.

Does this Mega link work? https://mega.nz/#!43wERRoQ!0d2AbZzuNtkIJE9k96mq-VAGXc-F_SOa3fX7xQjQQJ0
also - I only put the Note 8 XAA and TMB omc folders in there, so if you pick any other CSC options instead of those I don't think it will even run.

Glad it worked for you. I would love to help the creator of that utility properly add support for our devices so that we have all the menu options, icons, etc.
well I read over that thread again and it said to get Wifi Calling working on Tmobile to first flash the ZTO CSC first, reboot and let the phone finish booting, then go back to TWRP and flash the Tmobile CSC and you should be able to enable wifi calling with a shorcuts app to launch a Wifi Calling Activity action but I still don't think it's working. Also I am looking at the ZTO CSC stuff and not seeing why adding it first would make any difference.
i have an existing thread here.

But this problem, I found the latest firmware i could find, and used Odin to flash it, with the firmware in the AP" box.
T710XXU2DRB1_T710XSA2DRB1_HOME.tar.md5 (Yes, Australian Firmware, for Australia).
But the problem now, is after flashing, (Odin passed), the tablet tries to boot, gets to the white Samsung flashing text and just sits there.
[edit] It seems I need the PIT file for the tablet, does anyone have the PIT file for an Australian (XSA) T710 ?.
I did notice one posted on these forums for EUR_OPEN, Can I use that one or does it need to be for my area ?
Are the T713 pit files compatible ?
Hi there!

Are you using the CSC_OYM or whatever it is called in the firmware pack instead of the HOME_CSC at time to flash it through Odin?.
Formatting data via stock recovery prior to go to Odin and then flashing the proper firmware including the proper CSC file to clean all the remanent carrier traces may solve it, I think.
Yes

Follow this, it's very safe since you are flashing Stock Rom.
In order to get your CSC regional code you need to contact Samsung. This is really boring since you will have to deal with multiple agents from customer support.
I first contacted Samsung US via Live Chat under support... and they didn't provide any details about product Region at first. So I contacted them few times until they helped me.
YES SPAM THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN.
DONT EVEN SAY YOU ARE NOT FROM US AND DONT MENTION HARD BRICK OR ANYTHING.
So, according to them, my device is for Germanic region (I already knew this, I had some HSH Hotel bloatware).
I contacted German support via live chat and my device is from Austria.
VOILA.
Now that I know which region it is I need to check CSC Region Codes and I made a list.
I searched for them online until I matched codes on the left and Telecoms (carriers) on the right.
Austria (csc codes are on the left and Telecoms on the right):
CSC Regional Codes = Telecoms
AOM = AUSTRIA - unknown /generic probably
MOK = AUSTRIA - unknown /generic probably
TTR = Austria - magenta (former telering/t.mobile)
TRG = AUSTRIA - TELERING
MAX = AUSTRIA - t-mobile
DRE = AUSTRIA - Drei 3 (former Orange)
ONE = AUSTRIA - Orange
MOB = AUSTRIA - a1
ATO = AUSTRIA - Open Austria - directly from Samsung
So, I contacted Drei 3 and A1, I spam them a lot and eventually both agents answered my device is not on their list.
Since my device was SIM UNLOCKED I decided to flash ATO since it's Open and directly from Samsung AUSTRIA.
FIRMWARE
Caution, I didn't like 7.1.1 since I want Root.
So I flashed 5.1.1.
YES I HAD 7.1.1 BEFORE BRICK BUT I FLASHED BOTH 7.1.1 and then I flashed 5.0 for testing purpose. You can chose 1 of them and both are safe.

Its something like:

NOW make sure in ODIN Re-Partition is CHECKED.
Now that you have it and you are flashing with PIT.
IN ODIN THERE IS PIT OPTION CLICK ON IT.
IN PIT SLOT PUT PIT.
IN OTHER SLOTS PUT OTHER FILES FROM EXTRACTED ZIP.
