As the title says is there any chance of 1 of you amazing developers creating a wonderful kernel for our fantastic honor 9 lite.
FYI I would certainly test for you?
Fast charging is not just a matter of allowing it in software, the actual charging circuit has to be capable of it.

Hi
Looking at the Nexus 5 service manual I found it was using a new type of fuel gauge from Maxim the MAX17048. This works differently to other types in that it doesn't measure coulombs (i.e. current in and current out), but works just by battery voltage. From the datasheet:
The ICs use the sophisticated Li+ battery-modeling algorithm ModelGauge to track the battery relative state-of-charge (SOC) continuously over widely varying charge and discharge conditions. The ModelGauge algorithm eliminates current-sense resistor and battery-learn cycles required in traditional fuel gauges. Temperature compensation is implemented using the system microcontroller.

Also this means while other types of battery monitor become less accurate over time and don't correct themselves until a certain event is seen, such as a complete discharge/recharge cycle, this newer system is suppose to become more accurate over time, and also is pretty accurate from the start as no 'learning' is required.
So there is never a need to fully discharge/recharge the battery in the Nexus 5 in order to correct any error in the battery charge monitor. This partners well with the wireless charging which can see lots of small top up charging.

Phil

Good news! I made the experience that my battery was draining really fast, however it was just bad calibrated... This should be quick-charging much easier :good:
Hello guys! I just had a question about the fast charging in the nexus 6. I recently flashed the Android M preview to my nexus, used it for a couple days, and then reflashed 5.1.1 back to complete stock. It got me to wondering about if the fast charge feature was software related or all hardware. Like, if I installed an AOSP rom like cyanogenmod or another one, does it affect the phones ability to fast charge? How does that work? Is that built into the chipset or is it part of the phones kernel?
Sent from my Nexus 6
Chipset. Fast charge doesn't turn on and off depending on roms or anything.
Future questions should be posted in the Q & A section.
Alright! So not software related at all? Changing the entire phones software does not affect that?

There is many things wrongfully stated here...Quick Charge aka stock nexus 6 and Qualcomm certified quick chargers are based on hardware...where as fast charge is mostly for those NOT on proper chargers with lower outputs that allow the phone to pull a higher "Mah" from said charger for quicker charging. The other thing wrong is CM and AOSP are 2 very different things...AOSP based is ROMs mostly based from google code itself where as CM uses a very heavy amount of CAF related additions as well as legacy device support from elsewhere... Also considering here..CM Inc is looking to become an "Android without google aka true AOSP"

some custom roms for our k3 has fast charging option..like blitz CM13 or AICP 11 and some custom kernel features this too...
what is this fast charging?? is it like Quickcharge?
shouldn't it be hardware based feature?
how fast does this feature charges our device?

Our device originally supports upto 1700mA of current. But in some kernels the charging has been modded to give more current than that. The only thing I don't understand is that they tell us to use the stock charger to get faster charging but our wall charger only provides max 1.7A.
But some people have reported getting current upto 1900mA using the stock charger only. You can test the current through Ampere from play store.
Well you can't say it is like the quick charge technology as in the snapdragon devices but it should lessen the charging time
is it harmful?? for battery? I mean...since our battery isn't designed to cope with such high rated charging....!! is it?

I dont think it is harmful and hopefully the developer of that kernel also knows what our device is capable of

More or less, you should know that you are drawing more current than what the manufacturer specified. This may cause unexpected results like overheating, degradation of battery or worse bursting of phone!
Just be safe
I have used many miui roms for Lenovo a7000..some of them are pretty much stable but I have only one problem..Charging is slow..it takes minimum 5 hrs to fully charge using the charger provided with this phone..though charging is improved with my friend's Redmi charger. Please Help
Also Fast charging patch by hdhr is not helping.
Mine too...

This is a Quick Charging and Performance mod for Onclite (Redmi 7) which will work for MIUI and future custom ROMs(Yeah, I am working on that too!!!)
This mod basically allows your phone to pump more current into the battery for longer periods of time even from the stock charger!!! Hell yeah, and the phone charges at much faster speeds. Also, it allows the CPU to go to higher temperatures before thermal throttling, so you can PLAY PUBG FOR LONG TIME WITHOUT LAG!!!
Summing up the Features:
Quicker charging
Much higher performance
MIUI and custom ROMs support
Instructions:
First flash genom kernel
Then flash the zip through custom recovery and you are good to go!!!

What you said about charging it does the opposite. My device is now charging slower than before.

please convert it to Magisk module it very better to use
Battery health concern
Could you also specify like how much did you raise the max temperature by? And is the charging faster (more watts than normally always) or just more watts when close to 100% (basically when phone normally slows charging down), which I'm worried about what that would do to battery long-term
I made a flashable zip for reversing this mod. If you want to reverse quick charging to previous state, just flash this zip from recovery.

No, it doesn't harm the battery at all!!! Just like this, I made mod for santoni and its been more than 2yrs and my battery works like a charm!!!

I am using genom kernel already. I've been using it since it's released.
