Thank you

I would do a factory reset on your device and if this does not work, go back where you got ot and ask for a warranty repair or replace and show them proof of drain

Even my Nokia 8 doesn't hold charge like before.

Battery Issues... Sudden death

Hi everyone.. I need some help with this problem.
This is what happened .. Last night before going to sleep i checked the time on my kaiser, then made sure no applications were running and pressed the power buton (for sby). The battery was at 79%. This morning the phone was switched off. When i press the power to turn it on the battery was fully drained and completely dead. This is not the first time this has happened. And it doesnt matter at what charge the battery is. IT JUST HAPPENS... By the way i have it in flight mode since i never use it as a phone. I contacted the rep in my country and said they can check it out, but i would prefer avoiding the 2 weeks waiting...
ANY ideas...
Thank you all
Either there is something wrong with your battery or you've got software installed which drains your battery all the time.
Disable or uninstall monitoring programs or third party apps that can cause battery drain.
Did you install new apps recently?
ive had that issue once, gave me a rlod!
i basically ran pocket mechanics file cleanup...
took a while so i gave it 5 minutes, then bam! battery dead and had then saw the infamouse rlod. i was scared ****less
but after a ressurection with aid of some htc guy,
i had to hard reset(many of the files became corrupt) and it never happened again.
sooo try a hard reset
can you explain the ressurection with aid of some htc guy?
thx
Hi everyone.
Thanx for the replies. Well i havent installed any software lately and the only monitoring software i have is the battery status which i dont think is the problem since the reason i installed was these sudden deaths...
is there any way to find out if a certain app drains power when in standby mode?
Battery suddenly dropping happened to me twice... re-charged the battery and had no more issues concerning battery dropping. Possibily, it's some kind of app that keeps on running even though task manager does not trace it... That's my point.
To see whether your Kaiser is consuming more power than needed, close all running apps and leave it on until it reaches the idle power consumption (my Battery Status says 40-50 mA).
Also, complete discharge-charge cycle could help re-calibrate the battery gauge.

Samsung Galaxy S Battery Drain

Hi,
im having battery drain problems the phone wont last more than 5-6 hours send 20-30 texts listen to some music, i have turned off backgroud data and live wallpapers, im using something called advanced task killer free to kill the apps that are running, but i close them the re open the task bar and stuff like music player has reopened
ive also seen a post about which batterys are better is there a better one i can buy? my batterys a G7
any ideas ?
cheers
Stop using the task kiler and you'll probably see better battery life. Task killers have been proven more harmful than helpful on the newer versions of android so using it is pointless. Also pay attention to what you have synced and how often. tons of web apps synching will drain the battery faster, as will having the gps and wifi turned on--if you're not using them, disable them.
thanks for the reply i will remove the task manager,
auto sync is turned off and i only use email by refreshing the inbox

In short: Have you recently updated via Kies to JPY version? If so, stop using your wifi. There is a bug with wifi with this newest firmware.
hi,
i update to 2.2.1 through kies
Do you use wifi?
If yes, switch to data, battery life will be better. You should be able to get around 48h of light active usage (i mean browsing and calling and what not) with 3g data on.
i dont really use the wifi, signals really good around me, i only got the phone friday, brought it of a friend,
charged the phone fully before i went out last night about 7pm by 1.30am the phone had cut off, that was only using the facebook andriod app and sending text messages.
Than there is something terribly wrong. Do a wipe and factory reset, if you didnt after getting a device from your friend.. It seems that some application misbehaves and drains battery.
You can check it by typing *#*#info#*#* in dialer
Several options there, if there is something strange you will see it. (suggest looking into Battery history, usage statistics)
i dont know how to type in dialer sorry sounds very stupid all i have are digits

Have you tried reconditioning your battery yet?

About my battery life:
Previously I was on Darky's v5, with that the phone lasted 2-3 days with normal usage.
After flashing to v7 (with 100% battery) I also got the fast drainage problem. Here is what I did:
1) Turn OFF phone
2) Charge till it says it is FULL
3) Start in RECOVERY
4) WIPE battery stats
5) RESTART android (yes, it might already be on 98% or so)
6) USE phone heavily. Don't worry if it drops too fast. Use it till the Android system turns OFF automatically (it happens when your battery is below 1% - for me the phone was on 1% for about 40 mins. This is where it heavily myscalculated
7) PLUG IN your charger, TURN ON android and wait till it is FULLY charged again. (It is better if you don't use the phone at this charging up)
Now, after you disconnect the charger, you should still have 100% for some time (I've been using the phone for 32 mins - writing this post - and it is still on a hundred percent) and with this, I got back the 2-3 days battery life with normal usage.
Also, you should set WiFi to: "Never when plugged in" and by default I disable Data Network. But my phone is using WiFi all the time so it doesn't really matter
So to summerize this method, the key is to show the phone the battery's minimal capacity too, by using it till it is on null. Because with charging to 100% than wiping or flashing only introduces the maximum capacity to the system and the minimum is only guessed. THIS gives the faulty reportes and makes us think the phone drains too fast.
Try this method, than feel free to share your results

This may not be the exact case you are having, but the idea is the same. Give it a shot.
nvm, 'info' stands for '4636'
You could also use titanium backup and freeze some apps from running

Having the same problem
Hey, I'm having the exact same issue as the OP. Have you found a solution yet? I deleted the task killer just now, but did that work for you?
Thanks.
Same problem
hi
I have the same problem. I bought it 2-3 days ago. today i charged it full while fone was off, switched on at around 8AM my usage detail was
3g was on
gmail on sync
skype on sync
5-10 min of skype calling
5 min of normal calling
5-10 min of facebook browsing through android app
30 min of chatting on skype
at 2PM the fone was at 20% battery. My wifi and gps were off all day.
is there anything i can do to get atleast 15 hours of battery with normal use
regards
harris
If you are having issues with your battery, before you try killing tasks, changing setting and what not and especially if you are running custom ROMs, then you need to recondition your battery. The same goes for anyone who is having high drain issues.
If you follow the steps I posted from someone else's post and then find that your battery is not having issues, then start looking at your modem (if using a custom ROM or you've upgraded to new firmware).
ive done a factory restore, ive found what my usage says idle 4% the display 80%
contrast is switched right down
i know im not using any custom roms im using the firmware that you download through kies

I'd suggest posting this question in the Galaxy S general forum as you'll get a lot more responses

Data network activated (2g or 3g) phone die after 11 hours.
When data network deactivated phone die after 2 days!
I installed whatsapp, gtalk and one email account with 10 mins refresh.
I never use wifi.
Drain 7 - 8 % per hour when phone idle (Phone on with 3g data but without using it)
I really don't know how to "finger pointing" suspicion app via battery history.

Battery use don't reset after charging with stock GB

Hi,
After updating to Gingerbread the battery use page in settings no longer resets the counter after charging.
The battery monitor I got installed however does reset and show correct values.
Anyone else got this?
Also, Muffin Knight (game app) is listed as using a lot of battery but this is not correct. It has not been run after the last reboot and is not running when I check.

Getting the same issue on mine.
I have to Reboot to clear the Usage info.
At the moment i'm just waiting for my ontract to come up for renewal so I can get rid of this cursed piece of Crap
Battery usage is all over the place. 1 day i will use 3% over 5 hours, another time it will use 20-30% in 2 hours
How LG could ever call this a Flagship phone I don't know
Checked battery-usage just now myself. And i too have this problem. Its not reset at all.. This bumps my problems after installing GB update to 4 issues!
I've also noticed when you reboot, the battery stats reset completely so my phone is now showing total usage on battery is 1m 34secs
where before it was showing 2hrs usage which was correct
The same happened to mee. But i think this is normal? since you could have your phone turned off for lets say 5 hours, and then the reported time would be wrong, so i guess its normal for the timer to reset aswell.

[Q] Weird battery consumption

Hi guys. Last night, for the second time, something odd happened to my note. I was at 39% battery at about 1 o'clock in the night when I went to bed, and this morning, for the second time, the phone was dead. No battery whatsoever. The first time I didn't worry about it, but now I'm thinking about taking it to warranty.
I had Wi-fi off, 3G-off, no apps in the background(except basic services and avast) , I don't use sync, I have a custom battery saver (same settings as the default one, except I always keep GPS-on). I have XXLC1-ROM (stock - rooted). I have frozen some useless processes with Titanium Back-up(the mini-diary, AP-mobile, Social-hub, Readers hub). I also used the app Battery Calibration when the phone was at 100%, the one created by Nema. Should I be worried and take it to warranty ? It doesn't happen a lot because I usually let the phone charge overnight.
Added a screenshot of battery usage: http://www.picz.ro/show-image.php?id=7873c3532838d733974b56544cc222f5
Install betterbatterystatus app and monitor which app or hardware draining the battery particularly. So that you can monitor and control as wanted. You don't have to take to warranty. There are lot of threads regarding this topic, surf it, lot of ppl got relived from this same problem.
Did u turn off fast dormancy

dude. uninstall avast first of all then do a restart and test it that way
My note went from 98% to 'dead' in 6 hours with Battery monitor showing 'Kernel' as the cause.
I had missed seeing an SMS arrive and the 'preview' of the message was on the screen. This seemed to be the cause.

Huge Battery drain When Screen Locked!

Hello,
i have this problem almost for a month!
my Mate7-TL10 battery drain so much when the screen locked!
i tried everything, delete apps , optimise , delete google play services cache , greenify, battery calibration, reset factory.
and still there, i can't use my phone anymore. i charge it more than i use it!
when i use snapchat or instagram and twitter for 1-2 hours straight i just lose about 15-20% ( give or take ).
i feel like i lose more when the screen locked!.
every time i sleep and wake up i have to charge it again. if i'm lucky i have 5-7% left
i don't think it's battery life , because the problem just happend in one day.
i was sleeping and it's fully charged then boom , battery drain all day everyday!
here is couple of reports BetterBatteryStats generated. i don't know if it will help my problem
it's really frustrating, i can't use it outside.
if anyone could help me that would be epic and much appreciated.
ask for screenshots, try new stuff if that could help solve this problem
