very bad 4k video quality after copying it to PC - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

I took a 4k video with my P20 Pro and it looks great when watching it on the phone. However, after copying the file to my PC the video looks very bad.
Any Idea why?
Thanks

Same issue
I had the same problem. Took this thing in a fashion video shoot with my gh4 and got the footage onto the Mac and was like whooooa! Pure blurry mess when up sized. Shot in the 4k mode mine was. Not happy.

Camera issue with JB roms

I have been trying out JB roms lately and really them but I have a problem with my camera apps, mainly Camera FV-5 & Camera Pro.
The problem is that they load fine but when looking at the screen the preview of what I am going to take the photo of is only about 2/3 size of the screen and then there is a black border for the rest of the screen, I rely on my camera so I have to be able to see the whole screen.
The roms I have tried are BlackCNA v2.1 & PARANOIDANDROID 2.17 [Utacka]
Any help would be appreciated.
Oh is it possible to have the Galaxy note 2 gallery in these roms?

It looks like the previous are borrowed from the stock camera which leaves room for the settings and shutter.
Do you see your pictures correctly in gallery?

Thanks for the reply, I haven't taken any photo's, mmm I must have worded it wrong for lack of a better word, what I mean is the area of the screen you look at when you take a photo

Why in the world is there no 1080p/60fps video recording on the N6?

Even two year old phones like the LG G2 have it. Anyone know if it will be included in a future update? The hardware is obviously capable.
The hardware is capable but the Google Camera app is absolutely horrible.

Don't know why everybody says that goog camera is so bad. It works just as well as any other.
Also, lcamera's 60fps mode is limited to Hammerhead, and requires custom hacked blobs to enable. Won't do it on Shamu.
OP:
No 60fps because you won't get anything useful out of it. It'll just suck your storage dry faster.

Uh...60fps is extremely useful, especially now that youtube shows videos in 60fps. It's a world of difference compared to 30fps.

What do you mean nothing useful out of it? Suck your storage faster. We want 1080p 60frames. On our 64 gig storage phones. To take video with fast movement. I understand 2160p at 30 frames. Technology isn't there yet. But 1080p is and shame on Google for not enabling it.

You really don't see the difference in frame rates? I have a hard time seeing resolution differences, but 30 vs 60 is pretty clear to me.

If you can't notice the difference in framerate between 30 and 60 than you might want to visit a doctor.
The difference is extremely clear, and very desirable for smooth video and motion.
There is a reason that most video games run at 60 FPS instead of 30.
It looks smoother but if the bitrate stays the same, compression on each frame is higher which results in degraded picture quality particularly with complex movement/subjects.
60FPS is definitely useful as you can play it back at 30FPS and have 2:1 slow motion, etc.
Have to give it to Apple for their app as their 240fps mode is great for slow motion. Having the sound in there is also neat. Makes my little Jack Russell's growl sound like a lion's roar!
I use Cinema FV-5 and was surprised to see no 1080 60P mode available. It may be locked in the firmware even though the hardware is capable of higher frame rates.

This is incorrect. If you look at my camera screenshot on the last page you will clearly see that it allows for double the bitrate. 16 Mbps instead of 8.

Yes what I said is true, if it stays the same. In your case it's not the same.
16Mbps is a bit low still, however.

For 1080/60 16 is just fine to upload to YouTube or something. I don't think many people plan on making movies with their phones.

Are you guys using 4:3 mode? I assume that's native for this camera? Having a hard time finding info on it.
Thanks
4:3 is native.

Not sure what you mean. I clicked it with OP3 and processed it with Snapseed. Mostly tweaked the exposure.
This is a very low light shot in Auto mode (The ISO shows ISO 3200) which is super impressive for a cell phone camera.

[Req] 240FPS Slow mo

Is there any way to get slow mo 240fps or higher
Thankx in adv
I doubt it. The spec sheet for the camera sensor doesn't mention any resolution above 60 fps so the 120 fps slo-mo already available is probably as good as it gets.

Snapdragon 835 isn't too fast from 821.
Sony XZ Premuim is supporting 960FPS with SD835.
Our phone is quiet capable of doing 240FPS

at what resolution is the 240fps.
240fps is really good if it can record at least 1080p
just curious

i don't believe that video because it just looks like and insert.
it would be worth considering the video if the exif files are attached.
and any shot of the 3T within the environment, or establishing shot.

See that's what I'm saying man !
We have the specs, then why SETTLE ?
I'm pretty sure the camera sensor bottlenecks the phone's ability to record at higher framefrates. The OnePlus 3/T uses the Sony IMX298 camera sensor, while phones like the Nexus 6P use the more powerful Sony IMX377 sensor that is actually designed to record at higher framerates at lower resolutions.
The specs sheet for the IMX298 sensor from Sony themselves state that the sensor can only achieve up to 120 fps at 720p. Even lowering the resolution during recording will not overcome the limitations of the sensor. This isn't the type of limitation that can be overcome with software. No other phone that I have seen using the Sony IMX298 sensor is able to record above 120 fps either.
When one designs a flagship phone at half the price of other flagships, some things must be cut. OnePlus simply gave priority to the CPU/RAM over the camera sensor.
---------- Post added at 03:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:02 PM ----------
BTW, the camera app in CR Droid may show a 240fps option, but has anyone confirmed that it actually works? Custom ROMs are often ported across multiple devices and I doubt developers will go through every settings menu in each app to see that has become redundant.
Nice and brief explanation. letme ask crdroid team..

Huawei P30 PRO RAW/DNG samples

Hello everyone.
I'm debating whether to buy the P30 Pro or not, but I don't want to make the decision until I see some RAW photos from its camera.
I find it crazy that there isn't a single RAW/DNG photo available for download on the entire internet and I've been searching for them for them far and wide.
Can a good soul among you who owns the P30 Pro provide me with a couple of different photos? I'm mainly interested in the main 40 megapixel sensor, so you don't have to bother with samples from the other two sensors if it's too much of a hassle for you.
Thank you!
I have no idea how to process RAW files, but here's one (78MB). Colors are way off, at least in my preview

Thank you, my good man.
Well, it's normal that the colors are off, you are supposed to adjust them to your own liking since that is one of the main reasons to shot in RAW.
If you want to color-correct the main camera I found that pulling the tones of red, orange and yellow to around -40 is a good start. Also pulling the green curve in the darks a little into purple and it almost looks real.

Firefox Send has discontinued
I have been struggling to find a Huawei raw file as well. Unfortunately firefox send has been discontinued so I was unable to access these files. Would it be possible to access these files in another way?
Thanks in advances!
Of topic (I really don't know about raw, but every photographer does say raw photography does have the most beautiful end result in most ways.... So I have to learn about it).
But does anyone know why it's recommended, with the p30 pro, to have image size of photos in 4:3 instead of full image?
Why is 4:3 recommended?
I like the full view much better whioe shooting a picture, but if its less better I don't do it anymore.
Thanks for your time.
