enable Nokia Dolby Atmos / Sound Enhancement - Nokia 7 Plus Questions & Answers

Since Nokia has stopped applying any sound enhancement to their phones and because the normal 3.5mm output is of much lower volume than other phones or even USB-C to 3.5mm,
has anyone yet tried to apply Dolby Atmos / Sony Xperia Sound processing to their phones?

I think it requires root and custom recovery. I really want to use these too. In this regard i miss my redmi note 4.

[Q] few quick question about microphone

Hi! few quick questions:
1. Xperia Z have OMTP or AJH 3.5mm jack connection?
2. If it support OTG, external microphone would work with XZ? if yes how to enable it in app(if you dont use apps like USB Audio Recorder Pro)
3. its possible to get stereo sound on video, using external mic(plugged to 3.5 jack)? Or its always automatically change it to mono when you plug headset/mic to mini-jack port?
4. Anyone know good video app with more options than stock one?
5. Anyone used external mic for recording?
Because my friend use iPhone 4s with simple chinese stereo mic(really small one) and he just plug it and get amazing stereo sound, but when I plugged it to my xperia Z I got crappy mono sound...
PS. Bluetooth is not an option because as I know/tested every device limit mic quality to 8-10khz/mono

I dont have mood for jokes, an beside I'm not idiot to buy new phone just because one small thing doesnt work on it(and beside that sound quality of z2 or even z3 compact is not better than on my z, and buying it just because its compatible with sony external mic, its stupid).

Somethings Related to Dolby Atmos in Prop File

Hello everyone, I know that some Nokia devices have Dolby Atmos EQ. However, I wondered about whether Nokia 8 had Dolby Atmos before I bought this phone. When I bought this device, I couldn't find anything about Dolby.
Several days later, today, i have found something about Dolby. I installed a terminal app called Qute. I entered prop command called "getprop". It is bottom of output. If you scan carefully, you will be able to realize something(s) about Dolby. I can't share screenshot due to I'm new user here. I'm using my device with Android 8.1. I'm waiting your comments. Thanks to look this thread.

Absolutely, I agree with you. Even though Nokia 8 is a flagship phone, 8 hasn't Dolby Atmos. However, I have found a signature.
I have been scanning some root directories with some terminal commands (vendor, bin, lib, framework, etc...) but I couldn't any file related to Dolby. Briefly there is a signature but there isn't any file. I am not sure exactly. I hope Nokia brings Dolby Atmos to Nokia 8 next update.
I'm assuming that the Nokia 8 might not be designed for Atmos in the first place.
I said that because of the case of laptops with Dolby Atmos anyway. Some of those laptops are designed with Dolby's input during the design process to give a good sounding system, things all down to the speaker drivers and placements. So not only just the software, but the hardware both work together to give decent sound output. Not sure if that's the case on phones.
The Nokia 6's earpiece acts as a one of the channels for the stereo speaker setup on the phone. Which obviously was not there on the Nokia 8.
But on the 8, one of the microphone's for the OZO surround sound recording is at the earpiece area. But I don't see why a more powerful speaker driver in the earpiece for stereo sound and the OZO mic can't fit in the same spot.
Either way, the Nokia 6.1 dropped Dolby Atmos entirely and went with a single speaker setup.

Nokia 8 has only one speaker, i agree with that. We can't hear some sound effects with only one speaker. Besides, headphones support more effects than only one speaker. At least, sound effects can be better for headphones. Also internal EQ (Music FX) settings are available for only music apps; not YouTube, video players or games. At least, Music FX can support other apps.

Stereo sound mod wanted

I've seen stereo sound mods for other xiaomi and oneplus phones with one speaker. These mods make use of earpiece as of second speaker allowing for having dual channel audio. Is it possible to create or port such mod for redmi 4x?
The project was tried before for our device and failed. It was reported that, maybe due to limitations in kernel and/or low-end device specifications.

Has the Red Magic 3 a dedicated audio DAC ?

PowerAmp and Neutron show selectable options for Hi-Res audio,so I assume that the device is capable for Hi-Res output.
The Red Magic 3 also supports DTS:X/DTS 7.1 and 3D Sound technologies out of the box.
However, unlike with the ZTE Axon 7 release, there's nothing to find on the www about the Magic 3 having a seperate DAC for it's advanced audio stuff....
Does anyone knows if the device has a dedicated auidio DAC ?
you can enable DTS when headset connected, under sound effects

yes
That setting is not available on the EU rom......but anyway, also the Chinese rom doesn't show if there's a seperate DAC for Hi-Res audio...
From what I can tell it has an amazing headphone amp and is using the stock Qualcomm dac.
If only the stock Qualcomm DAC is used for audio processing,Qualcomm did a great job with this little piece of hardware,as the sound quality is outstanding, even when compared to my Axon 7......
I've written to support asking that same question, will come back here if and when I get an answer.

Android Auto and Dolby Atmos

Hi!
I have a Oneplus 7t Pro with crDroid 9 custom rom (no root) and I connect to Android Auto on my Mazda with USB.
When connected to Android Auto, Dolby Atmos gets disabled. Is this normal behavior and something that could not be fixed or is there a solution?
Audio under AA uses Bluetooth. I very much doubt your Mazda supports Dolby Atmos, or anything other than traditional stereo.

I thought that only telephone calls went through Bluetooth and sound went digital through USB?
Before I went custom rom and I used original rom (OOS11), there where no manual equalizer, but different predefined choiceses, and that worked with Android Auto. With that in mind, I thought that the phone processed the sound and then send that to Android Auto. Now on crDroid, no matter what settings i touch on the Dolby EQ it does not change the sound.
(If I connect my phone to my Mazda with Bluetooth only (no AA) Dolby Atmos (EQ) works.)
Hope you understand my rambling
