I have searched the XDA forums and have not found anything that pertains to this (I hope I didnt miss something), if I did miss something could you point me in the right direction? Here is the problem:
I recently got a Nexus 6 from my work, it was a store demo. I am having problems unlocking the bootloader in order to flash to the stock firmware. I have tried using the nexus root tool kit, adb, fastboot and android sdk, but to no avail. I am posting here because I am new to this and may have missed something. The phone is stuck in the demo mode and all the settings are locked, meaning that I cannot get into developer mode and check unlock oem bootloader, and cannot get into any other type of setting to take apps or switch security settings. When I try and open the developer options or other settings, I get a picture of a padlock with a caption of "This device is locked" and " Certain device features are unavailable for demonstrative purpose". It is running Marshmallow 6.0.1 and the build # is MMB29Q. I already have all the stock .img's and need a little help getting past this lock. So any help would be great.
Thank you
if its running in demo mode, then it is also running different software. since its on different software, i dont know if its possible to enable bootloader unlock in the dev options. if you cant enable that option, then the bootloader is not unlockable. but that all is just my guess.
Installing one of the OTA images may help with this.

I tried to install OTA using adb, kept getting a message saying "missing APK file". Any ideas?
So, I have not found a way to get out of the demo mode. I went ahead and did a factory reset on the phone, bug mistake. Now I have the problem of not knowing how to login due to the fact that I cannot get past the google sign in part after the factory reset. Any ideas?
Thank you
Bypassing factory reset protection can be done, but it isn't easy. For your sake, let's hope that you don't have the latest security updates installed on the phone.

The build is MMB29Q running 6.0 I found a back door kinda, I can get into the phone but will not let me get into developer mode doing this, and reset the phone, still needs original google sign in. I added a new google account under users in settings,to see if that would help, but still no luck getting into developer mode or other options. bootloader locked, so cannot get into adb shell. Any help, difficult or not, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Get the original sign-in or have the original owner remove the device from the account. Those are far easier to accomplish than attempting to bypass FRP.

There is no "original" owner as it was a store demo. I have emailed the gmail account that was associated with it but no reply. I noticed that all the store demos had the same gmail associated with them. I believe that they may have been set up in mass, then sent out to the stores.

I work for a Verizon retailer in the U.S.. I believe that the people or person who set up the demo mode and set the google login were the ones who the retailer got the phones from. As I have asked the procurement manager, and he does not know either. They have a repair center located inside the store, this store refurbishes old store demos. I used to work for that department, now I am a field tech for that same retailer. They were having a hard time getting rid of the store demo on this phone, because there is no place to put a pass word in under the demo app, that we can find. They asked me to help, I could not figure it out on my own, so I came here to ask for some help.

I assumed that logins/passwords for all demo phones are the same. That's usual in shops etc.You could try the login used by 'refurbish department.
When not successful..... call Motorola.

That's the problem, the people in the repair/refurbish department do not know the logins/password either, that is why they asked me to help unlock these phones, so they could sell/ use motherboards for repairs. Motorola it is then, unless there is a way around the lock, which I was hoping to find here.
Thank you

I don't think you will find on XDA how to bypass Google's anti-theft stuff. It's against the xda-rules.
It is the retailer or Motorola!
Btw when the phones have been sold as 'demo' (cheaper); I don't think the retailer will help.

flash the factory image for android 5.0, set it up, put in your own security then flash android 6.0.1. i say 5.0 because thats before googles security went into affect.

Make sure to provide a decent reason - I kinda lied about not using my new phone, but reality is i'd really sell it if I could not unlock it and get rid of ads.
I guess, simply saying you want adaway installed and that needs root shall be enough. Last part skips voids-warranty-are-you-sure? exchange.
A friend of mine called UK support on viber on may 10th, but ended up with same uk support mail exchage asking him for details, warning about risks and got his code a day later than me I believe.
He told them he wanted to flash clean firmware or something like that... be creative.

Content:I bought P20 pro few weeks ago and I desperately want to unlock my bootloader, but unlock link is 404/dead for ages now.One of the reasons for actually buying Huawei phone was the information that bootloader unlock is actually easy - I'm sick and tired of ads and I want root/adaway installed asap + I want google dialer.... It sucks to be walking around with my old Xiaomi mi6 and not a new shiny Huawei. Please let me know, how can I get an unlock code in any other way. Serial xxxxxxxxxx, product ID xxxxxx, IMEI xxxx/xxx. I know the risks etc and I'm sure I want to unlock my bootloader.

As explained in our previous e-mails, please note that using the bootloader code and rooting the device will void the warranty.
I trust this information is of assistance. In a couple of hours, you might receive a survey regarding the experience you have had with Huawei Customer Care. We would appreciate your feedback. Should you have any further queries, please feel free to get back to us anytime.
I wish you a wonderful day!

Hi everyone!
I am wondering if there is still a way for unlocking the bootloader of P20 Pro.
Basically, as you might already know, Huawei has removed the "bootloader unlock" page from its website. The paid service (DU-Unlocker) also does not have the device listed in its supported models.
Is there any working method now in 2019 whether it is free or paid or as a service that can unlock the bootloader of this device?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, pardon me for inquiring further if you truly meant bootloader unlock code for p20 pro from "fonzdirect" on ebay, the seller you mentioned, as he does not provide bootloader unlock codes. His service only unlocks the SIM card to be used on other mobile phone carriers outside of U.K. "02 network", Vodafone, and perhaps others. I did not find his store to provide the service in which this thread is referencing. For the sake of accuracy, might you be conflating the two?
I have paid MinistryofSolutions the 30Euros on Christmas Day for the p20 pro bootloader unlock; however, that was the week his unlock services went down. I was refunded my money that same afternoon and have noticed the website reflect his no longer being able to provide the codes. I cannot justify paying a cent more for FunkyHawaii for what I will use it for. I simply want VoLTE and VoWiFI to be enabled on AT&T through property flags. Cheers.

Hi all,
Back when the P20 Pro was released and Huawei was still offering codes, I obtained one.
However I cannot for the life of me remember what I did with it, now a recent flash (my fault) of a service firmware, relocked my bootloader.
Do you think Huawei will give me my code again? Seeing as they aren't actually unlocking a new device or one out of the grace period back in July?
Who would be best to contact to check?
UK based.
I doubt that. But anyway, Huawei is doomed and so i suggest you wait. Maybe they will reopen bootloader unlocking

That's correct.
However if you rebranded by funky Huawei then your code will have altered and you won't be able to reuse it..
If you didn't, or you used the guide I worked on then you'll be fine..
Can I ask, how did you obtain the code? What method of delivery did they use?? I've checked every email I own and found nothing..
So it must have come up on screen during the unlock process, im annoyed at myself for not making a note, I didn't imagine I'd ever need it again..
That being said, this is my data which I obtained from Huawei and by law in entitled to a copy of it.
So they are obligated to assist.
