Factory Reset 99% FIX - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

5 months ago I have received a Huawei P9 Lite 2017 (P8 or Nova Lite) and I gave it to my girlfriend after 5 months (I get bored of it). After I put back an original Android version and locked the bootloader back to give it to her in warranty, I have experienced a 99% stuck at factory reset. No buttons were working (key combinations) either erecovery, or fastboot.
After 24h+ I have developed this solution:
1. Discharge the phone to 0% (let the 99% emui reset to discharge the phone)
2. Let it charge for 5 minutes after complete discharge
3. Press the down button and connect it to computer and the phone will boot as usual
3.1 If 3 doesn't work press the power button while charging and volume down until the u see Huawei Booting logo(the blue one)
4. In the phone enable OEM unlock and enable debugging
5. Enter in setting and reset the phone
6. It will block again at 99% but on Factory Reset Low-Level
7. Turn off the phone and press volume down+ connect to pc and it will enter on fastboot mode
8. Using an ADB or a tool, boot to erecovery (I used smth called like SRT tool for Huawei)
9. In eRecovery connect to WiFi and simply let the recovery reinstall the OS and enjoy your phone afterwards.
If this was usefull, let me know. Have a great day.

the problem persists
hello, it doesn't work for me, neither step (3) nor step (3.1), what can I do.

Access Fastboot while Bricked/Bootloop

Hello,
i recently bricked my Mate S UL00 while trying to convert it to L09 and update to Marshmallow. I flashed some L09 files via fastboot, then modifed the oeminfo and then had an working B145. But i wasn´t satisfied and wanted more. So i flashed the Marshmallow files and tried to boot.
That was when i bricked my phone. It just showed the huawei logo. No boot animation, no sound, no way to recover it. Not even able to shut it down.
I rebooted the phone with every button combination but wasn´t able to access any useful menu.
i thought i was lost until i accidentally discoverd a way to boot into fastboot mode.
1. installed HiSuite
2. waited until my Mate S went low on battery and shut down
3. plugged it into my computer
4. hold the Vol- button
5. pressed the power button
6. profit (device was instantly in fastboot mode)
was finally able to recover my phone.
just wanted to tell you this. Maybe someday, you will use this method.

Can't enter recovery mode after installing TWRP

Hello everyone,
I bought a few days ago the Honor 5C and decided to root it. So I installed the TWRP (Nemo) using "fastboot", downloaded a ZIP of SuperSU and placed at the root of the internal storage. But when I try to enter recovery mode by using "adb reboot recovery" or by pressing the Volume Up + Power buttons, the phone vibrates, displays nothing for 2-3 seconds (not even a black screen, the screen is completely off). After that the "Honor" logo is dispayed for less than a second then the screen "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted [...] Your device is booting now..." with no option at all.
The problem is that this screen stays forever and never displays the recovery mode screen. If I entered this mode using the physical buttons, I can just press "Power" for a few seconds and then it reboots the phone normally. But if I used "adb", each reboot makes the phone entering again the same recovery mode that doesn't work, so I use the Volume Up + Power key while the phone is connected via USB to my laptop to enter e-recovery mode, then reboot normally.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem ? I really want to root my phone but I don't know what to do for now.
Thanks by advance for your answers !

Are you on EMUI 5 (Android Nougat) ? If so, official TWRP is not compatible with version > EMUI 4.x for now.
I'm using EMUI 5.0 / Android 7.0.
So now I've installed an incompatible TWRP can I just downgrade to EMUI 4.0 / Android 5.0 then flash it again and root my phone or should I reflash the original recovery before doing that ? I've read somewhere that updating a rooted phone could brick it so even if mine has just a TWRP and want to downgrade instead of upgrading I prefer to be sure.
Thanks by advance !

you need install original recovery and extract update.app from B100 firmware, then you place it to "dload" folder in your sd card and flash using 3 buttons. you cant full brick by messing with root. only soft brick which is fixable.
Ok I'll try it. I will post again if something comes wrong.
Thanks a lot for your help
I forgot to ask about one thing : I'm owning a phone with NEM-L51 model and I don't know if I can use NEM-L22 firmware ? If I can't, where can I find the right files to downgrade this specific model ? All the firmware files I see on the web are for the NEM-L22...
EDIT : I've found the B102 firmware for NEM-L51 model (Europe + UK) can I take it for the downgrade or is the B100 specific version needed ?

Thanks for your help but this doesn't work. When I do what you say it goes again and again to the same warning screen which never disappears. This is really strange, when I see videos I find on YouTube all Honor 5C owners that just do what you say enter in recovery mode, but it's not my case... I really wonder why.
I don't know if that can help you to understand, but I'm using a french Honor 5C phone, with EMUI 5.0 / Android Nougat like I said previously, model is NEM-L51 and I did the Android Nougat update several days ago using the Honor's official update application, which is natively installed on the phone.
About the firmwares, I've tried the B102 version for the specific model I own but each time (I downloaded the update ZIP several times, the first one with two folders named '1-main' and '2-vendor', the second with just the 'dload' files) the update stops at 5 purcents and says "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version. Please download the correct update package."
What can I do to solve this problem ?

When you do Volume Up + Power it attemps to enter recovery mode, not recovery (that's what I read), excepted if a USB cable is plugged in (which is not my case). And that still doesn't work.
However, I'm able to enter erecovery mode by turning on the phone with only the Power button, then holding "Volume Up" as written on the screen (there are 3 boot options that shows up, but only when I boot normally) and I enter erecovery mode. But I can't do anything interesting in this mode, just download the latest firmware (which fails at each attempt, even when I'm connected to a working WiFi point), shutdown or reboot the phone normally.
Shoud I show you a video of when I boot my phone in normal mode / recovery mode / erecovery mode ?

The problem is that I can't enter recovery mode, each time I try to install an OTA or full update package from the /dload folder on the SD card it fails, so I can't downgrade at all. Do you know a link that sure points to the good update package version for the Honor 5C on EMUI 5.0 in order to downgrade to Marshmallow ? I've found several links during my searches but I don't know if the installation fails because of a phone's bug or if it fails because of an invalid version.
EDIT : I forgot to precise the long model name of my phone : NEM-L51C432B350. On Firmware Finder Rewrite it shows that there are only two update packages for it, published on 20.04.2017... So I wonder if I need to download the three files shown in the filelist of the big update (1.68 Gb) and install them on the device ?

Stock recovery wont have an option . There is no graphical UI for installation.
Downgrade or update is just a manual procedure.
In order to roll back , u need to install a roll back package and then the origional MM package . Using the three button combination

Ok so in the guide I found on the same page I linked in my previous post (the guide is hopefully written in english) it says that the phone must haven't been rooted or even unlocked, so I prefered to relock the bootloader (and completely reset my phone, for the third time at least in two days).
But then I realized I would need to have an unlocked bootloader for the flash so I unlocked it again, but now the device stucks on "Your device is booting now..." with no option at all whatever I do, whatever the buttons I push... I'll really start to think I'm simply idiot
I'm searching on how to solve this new problem and unbrick the phone... 'cause I can't even shutdown it, the "Volume Up + Power" combination while USB plugged in or anything else doesn't work this time.
EDIT : Okay so my phone seems to really be hard-bricked. My phone just stays at the screen "Your device is booting now..." with no option at all, I can't shutdown it, I can't enter recovery or erecovery mode. Does anyone know what to do or is my phone definitively bricked ?

But how can I unbrick the phone ? I can't enter in any mode, I can't connect it to PC, I can't shutdown the phone, I can't use ADB or FastBoot on it, I can't reflash the bootloader or install a TWRP, downgrade or boot normally, I can't do anything !
So how could I unbrick it ? For now it's just still displaying "Your device is booting now..."
If you know how to do, please tell me so I can unbrick my phone. Sorry for asking you so many things I don't understand myself why there are so many problems...

[Bootloop] Xiaomi Mi A2 - PIE V10.0.02

Good morning people,
Hope you are well!
I updated my Mi A2 via OTA to PIE, it was in Bootloop, I got MiFlash back to OREO (V9.6.16.0), and I tried to install PIE, now for Fastboot MiFlash , but my cell phone was again in Bootloop.
Does anybody know how to solve this?
Or what happened to someone else?
Thanks for the help!
Claim warranty by far the most easy solution.
And yeah more people have this isseu.
had same problem... twice but solved very easy
just boot to recovery boot (volume down ad power)... connect power and left 10-15 minutes...
dont disconnect phone from power and press and hold power until reboot, release power button and voila, phone normally boot!!!!
i notice if you not wait long enough in recovery boot, phone remain in bootloop... just be patient and maybe helps... works for me twice...

just enter in fastboot mode and do nothing... only connect to power charger
is weird because i had two times this problem.. once after android 9 upgrade week ago, and second time today after factory reset
every times i cant do anything to work... this with power charger was stupid idea but is worked.... just connect charger in fastboot mode, wait 10-15 minutes and restart phone with power button... both times this worked for me...
i remember few years ago similar problem with Nokia/MS windows phones batteries and similar steps helped...
After instal january update and restart, on the phone see Android One logo and nothing is happening. After 5 minutes it switches off.
I'll get to the bootloader, but I can not unlock the bootloader (neither unlock critical). Is anyone able to help?
Use official xiaomi "MI FLASH TOOL" on Windows and flash with full stock image named "fastboot rom"
(Download image here: https://xiaomifirmware.com/roms/latest-android-roms-for-xiaomi-mi-a2/)
(You have to extract on Windows this tar.gz and tar also, and then flash with Xiaomi tool)
If you need help with this tool, read this "mi flash tool" tutorial:

any help will be appreciated ,:fingers-crossed:
You could try reflashing the stock boot image, booting into stock recovery, and doing a factory reset from there. I am not sure if TWRP can properly reset the phone if /data is encrypted. I also heard that you should avoid resetting your phone when you have Magisk installed (if thats the case for you).
You can boot into the bootloader by turning the phone off, and connecting it to a computer through the USB cable while holding down the volume up key.

Help ! Huawei P9 Plus VIE-L09C627B160 in a LOGO LOOP / BOOT LOOP

HUAWEI P9 PLUS VIE-L09
VIE-L09C627B160
This C627 is apparently branded by a company in Korea and has an LGU+ overlay, there is no update beyond B160 (EMUI 4.1.1, Android 6), I need an update to use a Volte simcard. My goal was therefore to rebrand it in the European version C432.
1. I used DC-unlocker to unlock the Network and get the Bootloader code. It worked.
2. I used the SRK Tool to Unlock the Bootloader. It worked.
3. I used SRK Tool to Install TWRP for Marshmallow. I unfortunetly did not launch TWRP, the process worked but I think that it was a fail.
- Important to know, after 1 or 2 (I don't remember which one) there was an EMUI update or reset and the display asked unclearly to remove sdcard and usb and to put them back in 2 minutes, I did not react and I think that it did not go to the end after this I had to shutdown the phone, it did a factory reset by itself and seemed good.
4. I tried to root the phone with SRK Tool but after the process the boot was freezed at the message with something like "Your device is booting..."
5. That when I understood that TWRP was probably not correctly installed and I tried some stupid things with SRK :
- I tried to install TWRP and the original recovery.
- I tried the root again.
- Finally I tried to relock the Bootloader...
6. After reboot my phone is now blocked in a LOGO LOOP.
- I can not shut it down.
- If I press the power button for a long time it restarts but stay at the Huawei logo.
- If I wait for the battery to discharge it always boot to the Huawei logo when I plug the USB cable.
- Sometimes if it was discharged longer it goes beyond the Huawei logo to another logo (LGU+) and reboot in a loop.
- If I try to push Vol- + Power, or Vol+ + Power, or 3buttons, there is just a reboot.
- There is no Firmware for my device but I tried to put a full EVA-L09C432B182 on an SDCARD in dload and there is no reaction to the 3 buttons reboot.
So no Fastboot, no TWRP, and no forced update.
The only time where my computer connect to the phone for 2 seconds is when I boot up after a long discharge and I see the LGU+ logo. But just after it reboot. And trying to launch fastboot from this situation don't work too.
Do you have any solution ?
UPDATE :
After discharging the phone completely and plugging it back to the charger it starts on the OS but I still don't have Fastboot, erecovery or anything else. If I reboot it it switches to Logo Loop and I have to wait for unloading.
Do you know how to factory reset or flash from Debugging without reboot ?
