Svoice isn't working for me after the update either. I would also like a resolution. When I try to open it I get "connection failed".

I just rebooted the phone and watch and now Svoice is working.
I didn't update yet to the new Gear Manager, although I received the notification that an update is available.
I've read the reviews and saw that some guys had problems, so I decided to wait.
My Gear 1 works perfectly now with Null_23 and I only want to update if the new Gear Manager brings additional features which are worthwhile.
Can someone tell if the new Gear Manager brings new things ?

My Svoice had started working again for no apparent reason since my OP.
Unfortunately now saproviders is going nuts again with a force close every 2 seconds while connected ON phone Galaxy S4. And my clearing data with TIBU trick no longer is working as a solutions.
Tired of these constant Gear Manager updates and messing stuff up.
I got another update today, and it did not fix anything. I'm really pissed!
Notifications are off...
I still didn't update my Gear to the newest version (still on version before the 18th of September).
Can someone tell me what's new in the latest version ?
Is it worth upgrading ?
And I really hate that after each upgrade of Gear Manager, the watch is resetted and I have to install everything (I'm on Null 23).

Absolutely does not update, if it works well. Nothing major has been changed, as there are no announcements. Just ignore it.

How do you turn off updates? There is no such option.
In gear manager touch your devices name. Then touch "software update". Now UNcheck the box that says "automatic update".

Do you never install new apps on ur phone? Don't ever need to set up notifications? No? "just setup and leave it" isn't really a solution to the problem but thanks for ur effort.

I'm sorry I mislead you. Updates in gear manager are for the gear. You need to turn off automatic updating in Samsung's apps settings.

"Turn off updates" would you please elaborate on that? I tried turning off every update I could find related to the gear(1 null 23) and it still tries to update. When it does say update needed I can't stop it. It will shut Down the gear manager....Thank you.

true , i tried many tricks nothin works , stopping update , replace saproviders or clear cache/data , it works for while then back again as it was.
problem not just no notification or media control , its drain battery so quick
I can't change the colors assigned to my People Edge contacts. I know how, but when I change it, it keeps reverting back to the previous settings. I also can't completely clear my contacts and start over. When I delete them from the People Edge settings, the first four retain the contacts even when I delete them, only the fifth one clears. Has anyone seen this or have ideas how to correct it? I'm really hoping not to have to factory reset my phone!

I guess it was only me seeing this. Anyway, if anyone does come across it, I did not have to do a factory reset. I did have to do a settings reset, and afterward I was able to delete and swap the contacts in my People Edge app without issue.
How did you do a settings reset?? (tmobile)
Hey man, I am having a similar issue.
I deleted all my (5 people) but one wont delete. And now, I cant change the colors. It is all out of wack.

you can download OTA and flash yourself via adb, or you reset your watch completely and start the setup process again, worked for me, then i just got logcat for links....

the update is targeted to increase watch health - means clean up some junk and add more stability

It's in settings. Scroll down and you should see it. I had not seen it until this last update.
I found that it does take some time for the lockscreen to kick in - I don't see any settings that control that. Having said that, it did lock on the charger overnight and it did lock after I took it off the charger while getting ready for the day.

Edit: Disregard. Just read wearables can get updates which may not include the companion app. According to the reviews on Google Play, this update has connection issues. Any one experience any drops on our watches? I'm very reluctant but the notification on my watch continuously pops up.
I've just starting having an issue with my stock Sprint Note 8. The notification panel/ edge panel and floating apps (specifically FB messenger chat heads) will close on their own. it's getting to the point of these apps not being usable. I've done all the basic diagnostics/app maintenance and reboots as well as reset all my settings to stock. this is a last ditch effort to figure something out before I factory reset. I think it's got to be an app not playing nice. The phone doesn't have this issue in safe mode. Just wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of this and if there is an easier fix than uninstalling apps or wiping my device

Notification panel will close on its own for me. Any 3rd party apps or themes or anything installed? Maybe noticed after installing something?

There's an app called secure Wi-Fi... delete it, it is what's causing that issue...

I was having the same issue but it was only doing it while not connected to Wi-Fi. So I started deleting apps that had to do with Wi-Fi and it worked lol.
Yeah... Thought it was gear 360, but it just started up again. I'll get rid of secure WiFi and see if that works. I didn't really see a connection with WiFi or no WiFi though. It's happening either way. Starting to wonder if it's a software issue

So far. I went 2 or 3 days after getting rid of the 360 app to though. Hopefully the issue is gone for good this time. I'll update if it returns

Try redownloading the 360 app . I have it on my phone and have yet to have the issue since deleting the secure Wi-Fi app

I need help with my new note 8. Just finish setup and find my stock weather app / widget wan't work. i got message "couldn't find location" (my gps working fine in maps, etc). Also when try to set location manual got message: "service is not available temporarily". I try everything, set permissions, clear in app data cash, reboot, finally upgrade my phone to latest "N950FXXU1BQK6_N950FOXM1BQK6_BRI" and have some problem.

So I created a Samsung account, then it 'magically' worked. I was not trying the app again, but in the background, suddenly it told me where I was.
If others can say whether they have created a Samsung account, that may help.

I fixed it by opening a GPS app wait till the location is accurate and then in Weather app clicked search and then the find my location button
Yes. In begining also i have same problem and then when i setup complet then this problem gone...
I suspect that in some cases, samsung or carrier make all functions fully operational after you complete the initial set up procedure, depending on region/carrier, just a thought

Hi, I have a S8+ and I have the same problem. When I click the refresh button on the weather widget it says: Service is not available temporarily.
I am from Macedonia, and like the user from Serbia said, maybe it's a regional problem.
The weather widget on the home screen works for me with the latest update on my N9500.
The weather in Bixby home is unable to update. It worked before the November update.
