Battery Drain Following Latest VZW Security Update? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Is anyone else experiencing battery drain following the latest VZW update from last week?

I am, but just noticed it today, and it has been updated for a week I guess.
Didnt use the phone much and noticed at noon or so it was already at 47%, by 6pm it was down to 20%. This is a phone that has generally been in the 60%+ range when I go to bed(unplug 7am, plug back in around 11pm).

I don't think it's just the VZW.
I'm experiencing significant loss of battery after the last security update (Last week) on Telus here in Canada .
Before this, at this time of day, with "normal use" (for me) I would still be at 80%. I am now at 47%.
Hopefully fixed soon.

Any other reason(s) why this is suddenly happening?

Mango Battery Life

So I got the official Mango update yesterday, and the battery life seems to be worse than the Mango beta was. I still have everything configured the way it was before, and yes the Online Messaging is set to offline. I also did a discharge, recharge cycle once.
Has anyone else noticed subpar battery life on the official version of Mango?
same here.my device's hd7.
I though mine was really bad in the Dev preview, it sounds stupid but it was going flat withing about 5 hours.
I pulled the battery out and put it back in and then all was good, in the final at full charge the battery menu says I have about 1 day and 12 hrs usage, I always a good days usage out of it now.
ETA: My friend at work has a similar problem, did the same thing and go the same result.

Anyone have an N6 and a Moto360?

I'm experiencing excessive battery drain on my Moto360 since I got the N6. I used to go all day and by bedtime I would still have 20% charge, now it's completely dead by 4pm.
Trying to diagnose an issue with mine specifically or if this is an issue with the N6.
Thanks!

I've noticed slightly worse battery life as well. But, I'm not sure if it's because it's paired with the N6 or if it's Wear 5.0. I got jumped from the G3 to the N6 and never even got the 360 update until I got the N6. So it's hard for me to say. That being said, there's definitely something causing battery drain on the 360. Mine is nowhere near as excessive as your battery drain though. I'd just try and reset it if I were you.
I did a reset last night and I got the 5.0 update this morning. By 10am I was down to 38% battery. No idea what the issue is, hopefully the update will solve it. Also reset my phone thinking there may be an issue there and reinstalled the apps.
I haven't tested since 5.0 update, since I just got the update yesterday, but prior to that I didn't have an issue and only charged my 360 every other day and sometimes not until late on the 2nd day. Not sure what would be causing it other than an app being open and constantly syncing or pushing notifications constantly.
Battery on my 360 lasted all day with my moto x. With the nexus, its dead.
No trouble here. In fact, I'm getting slightly better battery life after the update to the watch a few days ago.
I did encounter something similar when I first got my watch. In my case, it was an Android Wear game I installed that had crashed after starting it on the watch, and must have kept running something in the background. I uninstalled the game, and haven't had battery troubles since.
Watch has been off the charger for 8 hours, and has 56% battery left after heavy use today.

I'm at 70% after 8 hours. All good here!
I am with 80% after hours. nexus 6: 5.0.1, moto 360 5.0.1
All good with mine, Nexus 5.0.1 and Moto 360 5.0.1 Build LWX48T

Nearly doubled battery drain overnight

Have had this since january 2015, and the battery only seemed to get better when Android 6 was released for the watch a year later. Suddenly, in April/May, the drain became significant higher, and I need recharging after 10-12 hours of use. No new apps, no different use from the night before. Factory reset did not help it.
Should I try to fix the battery, or is it something else I might try?

Night Battery Drain

Hi everyone -
I have a stock Note 5 and all of a sudden for the last couple days I have been seeing crazy battery drain during the night. Last night I went to sleep with it at 100% and when I got up 10 hours later, it was 62%.
I have linked a screenshot of the battery usage. Can anyone help me fix this?

Mine isn't as bad, but it's been horrible since the last OTA update. One guy mentioned the bluetooth seems to be the culprit.
Sometimes a rogue app abuses the awake state and keeps draining battery (*cough*facebooksucks*cough*).
Check for any wakelocks or a continuously running background service or app.
This problem helped me too and i flashed stock rom 6.0.1 and then flashed root.img (root file for odin)and then corrected.
Sorry for my english.

Question Cell standby high usage and update problem

Hi,
For a few days Cell standby has been using quite a lot of battery even though. It started when I got VoLTE and VoWIFI, but I turned them off because of the high battery usage from cell standby. No change, it's still high (around 20% in a day).
Also when I check for updates, it says "no updates available", even though a week ago I had some notifications regarding a system update, but when I tapped there was no update. I'm on 11.5.1.0 global version.
Does anyone have any idea? It's such a waste to have a big battery and to get only 3 hours screen on time all day long.
Thanks!
